In "key 01" building you can use the huge shared kitchen and can eat outside at the terrace enjoying the sea side view. You can also use the large Onsen inside main building (outside Onsen with sea side view included). For a really affordable price, we had perfect rest days after hiking the Kumano Kodo trail. Located an 11-minute drive from JR Shirahama Train Station, Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel offers a view of the beautiful Namariyama Bay and free WiFi at public areas. Absolutely beautiful. I needed a slight getaway from the backpacking life and stayed the night in the room with its own private onsen and it was the most relaxing stay I’ve ever had. It had a beautiful view overlooking the Ocean, and you could watch sunrise and sunset while soaking in the bath. They also had a winter holiday special dinner set and the plates were beautiful and well worth the money spent. The location is perfect, 5 mins walk from the beach and if you’re looking to keep sightseeing it’s only a 30 min walk away from Senjojiki and Sandanbeki.

Beautiful little hotel close to the beach. The rooms are spotless clean and the staff is super friendly but don’t speak much English. We even got a little farewell present from the hotel. The onsen is nice too and when we visited had it all to ourselves

Shinnishiki Hotel features air-conditioned rooms with satellite flat-screen TV in the Shirahama Onsen district of Shirahama. Right in front of the beach. Clean towels as you enter. Clean. Four of us were able to stay in one room so great value for money. Tons of restaurants a short stroll away. Since we are traveling for a month all over Japan having a washing machine with a drier was very handy. They even provided detergent. We forgot our son's bag and they sent it to our next destination.

I also loved hearing the ocean waves while i am in the onsen. It was quite lovely. The view from the room was also very lovely! And the hotel is a great access to the shirahama beach!

Shirahama can be reached from Osaka by many accommodations. You can use a direct bus from Namba or you can use JR trains to reach there (whether it's local or rapid). The white sand beach was very much worth considering the location near the city (Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Wakayama).
A beautiful beach resort with some great scenery, nice soft sand and clear blue water. Does have some sea weed floating around and watch out for late afternoon when the jelly fish are around in summer time. When there are less people in the sea - it’s time to get out. There was a fireworks display in the evening with music playing out speakers. Simply amazing to watch from the beach!! It doesn’t happen everyday so plan ahead. There were market stalls providing food in the evening however unsure if it is a daily or weekend occurrence. Local bars/eateries had friendly people , staff and locals alike were nice. There is a family mart just off from the beach front. Some bars are open late. You need to either take a bus from the train station which takes longer but is cheaper or a taxi which is much faster but also more costly- ¥1,500 roughly. It’s too far to walk if you’re staying near the beach and in the summer heat it’s really not recommended. It’s really nice for families , couples and groups of friends. If you’re a solo traveller and you enjoy your own company you’ll be fine.
Nice clean beach (maybe a little small), Good for 1 or 2 day beach trip. The rest of the city interly hotels. Restaurants and city very old (timetravel) ruined atmosphere. Defnitly nothing for shopping or good food. So Beach yes, Rest no
The beach was nice, but crowded the fireworks and candle light event on Saturday was worth it. Not as nice as other beaches I have been to around the world. The water is pretty cold to so not great for swimming. Had fun but wouldn't recommend for a solo traveler. No English directions to get there and the bus is kinda confusing. I would not come back without a rental car
Perfect location for the self-driving trip. I love the adventure world, fish market and Marriot hotel. Hmm...also the white beach & sunset is superb. You can find a dinning street just nearby the white beach and more than 20 restaurants over there. Food is excellent with reasonable price.
Fantastic. Coming originally from a coastal town my sister and I loved the beach and water front including rock walls. Lots of great walks exploring. Took numerous photos and shared with fellow trekkers. Locals friendly and helpful. Found a great bakery. Obviously has retained its family friendly environment despite its popularity.

I also loved hearing the ocean waves while i am in the onsen. It was quite lovely. The view from the room was also very lovely! And the hotel is a great access to the shirahama beach!
