The hostess lady is from Taiwan and speaks Japanese and Mandarin, so that was very helpful for us. She was also very helpful providing information on the castle ruin and local attractions and restaurants. When we asked her if there was any place we could rent bikes to ride along the river, she offered her own bikes to us. We really loved staying here in Takeda. It's quiet, peaceful and beautiful. Everything we wanted in a small Japanese town experience.

Great location. The staff were always on hand and willing to help. The breakfast was brilliant. Venue was a little tired and could do with a refresh. It is past it's glory days. However a comfy stay.

As a small town hotel, it was par for the course. The view on the seventh floor restaurant where we had breakfast, was lovely.

Family owned property. Friendly host , we stayed here to see the sunrise at the castle . We got lucky , very amazing view up the mountains. 40 mins hike up a paved road. They gave us a very big room on the ground floor . Adjoining to a common room next to the bedroom. So it is quite spacious to put our luggages.

We really enjoyed the authentic atmosphere of a traditional Japanese house while still having clean and comfortable facilities. The Goemon-style bath and the theater room were especially memorable. We loved relaxing and watching movies in the theater room, and projecting a planetarium onto the ceiling made the experience even more special and unique. The location was also excellent. We were able to enjoy delicious Tajima beef nearby, and since the property is close to the Takeda Castle Ruins, we could start an early-morning hike and make the most of our visit.

Our host Shin was excellent - responsive and very helpful. He welcomed us when we arrived and explained the beautiful property to us. The house, a traditional wooden structure, was very clean and newly renovated/restored with fireplace and comfortable beds. The house has 4 bedrooms, 2 separate bathrooms and 2 separate toilets which was comfortable for 7 of us. It was a joy to stay in the place which had a full kitchen with modern appliances and generous dining ware - we even had shabu-shabu one night! There is a private zen garden against a backdrop of forest greenery. Perfect for quiet time and relaxation. Also, best to drive there (free parking) and it's close to attractions and hiking trails. We will certainly return.

Dinner and breakfast were both superb. The location, bang in the town centre and near the footpath up to the castle ruins, was perfect. It is so nice to find a historic building restored and used in this way! It was a real treat to stay there.
