Masa and his wife were very kind and helpful hosts. Masa spoke English well, and was good at keeping in touch before the stay. They paid excellent attention to our food allergies and still managed to prepare delicious and substantial meals for us every day. Moreover, they always helped us clean the snow off our car in the morning, and helped us get discount lift tickets for the local ski resorts. Our room had plenty of space and underfloor heating, which was good because we'd been skiing and had gear that needed drying. The decor inside the pension was homely and cozy, and the area was really nice and quiet with a great view over to the mountains to the front and onto the forest at the back.

It was very kind of him to show us around the house and teach us how to use the washing machine etc. He also provided food/attraction recommendations around the area. The house was clean, spacious for 6 adults and has a lot of amenities like projector, Bluetooth speakers, game consoles, table tennis etc. Although the house was situated at a cross junction, it wasn't noisy. Would definitely recommend staying in Shinji-san's house if you are road tripping and don't want to stay in the city/town.

Midori san, the owner, was super nice and came by car to find me since Google maps was taking me to the wrong place. The hut is in a quiet place surrounded by trees, nice stars at night. It has all and more of what you need when you are home.
