Located 0.6 mi from Yufuin Motorcycle Museum, Etavia Yufuinekimae in Yufu offers rooms with air conditioning and free WiFi. 1min walk from train station, room was quite spacious considering the price, very worthwhile, but it’s a bit of a walk to kinrin lake, takes about 20mins
Located in Yufu, 0.8 mi from Yufuin Motorcycle Museum, Ryokan Yufusan features free WiFi access and free private parking. There is a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage space and shops at the... Good location. Easy access with a car. Reasonable hotel price including private onsen in the room and a breakfast. I read a feedback regarding absence of hotel lobby before I book the hotel, but there was no need for the lobby! Good breakfas compare to another ryokan I stayed.

We only spent a day there, which seemed to be enough to explore the town. It is a tranquil town with lots of places with onsens, although the main street would be busy usually with tourists - but we love the vibe there nonetheless! Easy to get to by train. We simply spent the day eating snacks on the main street and went to the Kirin Lake for a brief walk. If I had stayed for longer I'd probably have tried out more restaurants and did some short hikes.
From the Train Station to Kinrin Lake, it's a short distance only 30 minutes on foot, but it was the longest walk ever i have made through my KYUSHU stay, because that 30 minutes becomes 5 hours. I've filled my eyes with serene views, my phone with pictures, and my stomach with food that i can not even pronounce the names, i love the potato cake and the grilled squid on the way to Kinrin Lake (i tried everything!). Special mention is the the Totorro shop, I stayed there for an hour, I enjoyed finding the characters scattered at the store front. Over all it was FUN!!!
Yufu is a small town with nice hot spring. We spend two nights there, the first day, we enjoyed a bit the area surrounding the train station, when the weather is not so good, you can walk around to experience the Japanese spirit. The second day, we visit the famous lake, on the path to the lake, we visited many shops with all kinds of delicate Japanese goods. The final day, the weather was perfect, the snow on the Yufu maintain wad so wonderful. We had so much fun at Yufu.
Lovely little quaint town ...just so peaceful and beautiful. So many goodies, food and craft shops to walk around. I would think Yufu is best for one who just needs quiet, relax time to unwind from the city. The place is so perfect for couples esp honey mooners and oldies...in the nature with many different colour mountains in the backdrop. Highly recommend for everyone!
A nice ryokan for family of 4. Room is big and the private onsen in the room is great choice . In the evening , the staff Will make two tatami bed for the children and still hv room to move around . Massage chair in the room helped us to relax after a long day exploring the Yufuin area . Taxi to hotel from station is about ¥1100 . V near to Yufuin station
The street of shops and restaurants was the main draw. There's so much to see and do. The Kinrin lake was beautiful in the early morning, with mist floating on the water. The surrounding is very pleasant to walk around.
A well thought out hostel. You can get everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. - nice Japanese style buildings - relatively new facilities - private onsens with nice decor - has outdoor onsen - has drink bars at the lobby - provides enough towels - good height of table and chairs to work - very good and fast wifi - provides slippers to move around buildings - rents bicycles for free - good Japanese style breakfast with lots of rice and a wide variety of side dishes - polite staffs
The location is just fantastic. Right opposite the Yufuin train station. The winning point for me is the family sized onsen on top of the hotel which can be used for free. And its quality is as good as some of the charged onsens I've been to. Talking about facilities, they have 2 super modern washing machines that can wash and dry your clothes. The room was really spacious and I really its interior design. What's not to like? Especially when I got this room with the GoTo discount.
I went to Yufuin to hike mount Yufu. Yamaboushi is conveniently located closed to Iwao Byouin Mae bus stop, where where you can hop on a bus to go to the Yufu trailhead. The main shopping street is only a short walk away, too, which means you can easily explore all the shops and restaurants. There's also a lovely little outdoor onsen. When I was there, I had it to myself, which was extra special. The staff are very friendly and accommodating!
Beautiful , clean & nice ryokan. Onsen both private & public are clean & nice. They have best service & good food especially dinner course. Each room have own butler, our room butler name “Miyamoto” Musashi San, She is serve us the best service & very warm welcome. If I had a chance I will definitely come back again!
Private onsen was very nice. You can see the mountain view from your onsen room. Staff was nice and helpful. Free pick up and drop off services by making reservation. Breakfast and dinner was so good. I recommended to reserve the room with mountain view and meals. They also have good souvenirs shop in front of hotel.
Pick up and drop off from and to Yufuin station on time in comfortable car. Property located in a scenic area. The room was clean and comfortable with good breakfast . We enjoyed the luxury of a private onsen. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Would definitely go there again and no hesitation in recommending it.
Good location, close to shopping, trails, Kirkin lake and Mt Yufu. Many onsen choices on site. Very friendly staff and they serve dinner in your room, with 10+ courses. One of the best onsen resorts in Japan.
The hotel is very traditional. It is a beautiful building, very clean, great and courteous staff, nice rooms and the onsens are great!
A man at front desk very polite and English fluently. The private onsen was very perfect. Dinner was specifically menu and delicious.
Superb location, Yufuin is a beautiful place to stay and easy to travel into Beppu or Oita. Private onsen baths are a delight.
The staff is super friendly, helpful, and speaks English. Indoor and outdoor private onsens are nice.
Clean and large room, private onsen is good
Private Onsen and Free Bicycle Rentals.
We were a group of families with young children. We love everything there: the spacious and clean rooms, the private hot spring bath, the stunningly great dinner, and the caring hotel staff. We were lucky enough to appreciate the architecture of the hotel at various weather conditions. Our whole group agreed that the stay at this hotel is the most enjoyable experience throughout our 7-day trip in Kyushu.
