Charming is an apt name for this beautiful hidden away gem. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, really working hard to ensure our stay was a dream romantic romp. The place was awesome. I was working while I was there and it was very cozy, comfortable and the staff was so accommodating. Internet was very good, was working back in the states and had no issues. The shower was also the best shower I’ve had in Kenya. Water pressure was perfect. Netflix on the tv was also a huge plus. Couldn’t recommend more for anyone trying to relax and enjoy Watamu.

Breakfast was spot on. Location was pretty decent. A little far removed from restaurants/shopping and such, but that is kinda what I wanted so was very good for my needs. I answered no regarding the question above "Did the price I paid match the expectations I had when I booked". I answered no because the facility far exceeded my expectation. Scammed, displaced, and racially discriminated against I had a very distressing experience with Come for Life St Thomas Resort, Watamu. When I made my reservation through Booking.com, the payment terms clearly stated “pay at check-in.” However, one week before arrival, the hotel contacted me directly and demanded full payment upfront. Given the short notice and festive season, I complied and paid in full. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was shocked to be told at reception that the hotel was fully booked and that I would be moved to another hotel. The alternative accommodation provided was of much lower standard and very poor quality, nothing close to what I had booked or paid for. I requested a refund, which the hotel refused. Because it was peak festive season, I had no choice but to stay in the inferior hotel, as there were no other available options. What made this experience even more disturbing was that I arrived at the same time as other guests, some of whom were on the same flight as me. They were checked in immediately at the original hotel and treated with courtesy—while I was displaced. It was very clear that white guests were given priority, and I experienced racial discrimination by the staff. The hotel never apologized, never took responsibility, and ignored my attempts to raise my concerns afterward. This was not just poor service—it was dishonest, unethical, and discriminatory. I strongly advise travelers to be extremely cautious when booking this property.

Everything was great! Great apartment!

Everything was great! Great apartment! Great pool, also table soccer and darts. The staff were very nice. Very central, near the shops and the beaches. The food was nice. We rented a boat to go snorkelling, it was amazing, we saw so many fish! 🐟 Would highly recommend! 😊

The hotel staff was amazing — super kind, always smiling, and able to combine great professionalism with a warm, welcoming attitude. The structure itself is beautifully designed and impeccably maintained, making every moment of the stay truly comfortable. The entertainment is soft but very pleasant, never intrusive, and perfectly balanced for a relaxing atmosphere. A special shoutout to Florence, a fantastic entertainer who brings joy with her energy and kindness. But our deepest appreciation goes to Anthony — an elegant, highly professional guide who speaks many languages and is always ready to help with calm, patience, and genuine care. He is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and present without ever being overwhelming. Above all, he is simply a wonderful person: easy to talk to, thoughtful, and capable of making you feel immediately at ease. People like him transform a vacation into an unforgettable experience. We feel truly grateful for his support, his availability, and the humanity he brings to his work. An outstanding team overall — thank you for making our stay so special.

Some really good beaches... very full day trips on boats...

Some really good beaches... very full day trips on boats... lots of stalls to purchase things... good supermarkets on the main road if you are staying in a villa... due to the heavy Italian tourist presence, there are plenty of great eateries and restaurants... easy to get around on motorbike or tuk tuk... generally very safe compared to Nairobi.

Watamu is one of my favorite places to visit in North Coast.

Watamu is one of my favorite places to visit in North Coast. It is not overpowering like other towns in North Coast. The people are very friendly and hospitable. I particularly enjoyed the sunset views at Litchaus and Crab Shack. The cultural tour to Waka Waka Island and seeing dolphins. However, it can be pricier than other places. I recommend going with an open mind and a spirit of fun. To get the most from Watamu, do not rush. I recommend spacing out your travel and allowing yourself to soak it all in. There's definitely so much to see and learn from the local community.

One of the best spots in town for lazing on Garoda.

The staff were all excellent - very friendly, courteous and helpful. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Beach access. The rooms and hotel including the grounds were kept very clean. Good breakfast. Daily replenisment of bottled water in the room was much appreciated, and the fresh milk for tea/coffee was a welcome bonus!
