This is not a four star hotel!! This hotel should stop misleading its guests. The rooms are so old and not as clean as advertised. I would say the food was quite okay but it was not buffet. Please avoid any salads at any cost.My family of 6 and I had the worst diarrhea ever. The hotel is located more than 30 mins from Malindi airport and the roads are very bumpy ,dusty and so uncomfortable. After booking six rooms online then we got to the hotel , our host that day Caroline said that I had only booked two rooms. They blamed booking.com for everything and I told I frequently travel with booking.com and never had issues with them before. I normally do not put down reviews on anything but if anyone out there is looking for a genuine review if to stay at this hotel please don’t. Save your Money and thank me later.
I little more expensive than other coastal places but its a beautiful place that has beautiful beaches and islands... worth the extra...I will be back soon... We visited during semi covid...no lockdown but not the normal amount of tourists... there were plenty of restaurants still open... It's ideal for couples...not for a party freak....
Watamu is a colorful town with a lot of local activity. You get an exceptional sense for coastal life. The many beaches are beautiful, all different. The 'village' offers wonderful local shopping opportunities. The town has an Italian influence, which is evident in the restaurants. One of the best small lodges, Mvuvi (on booking.com) offers some of the best fresh fish dinners. Overall, Watamu is a casual coastal town with easy access to Milindi airport.
Watamu is very isolated especially if you are staying in one of the hotels north of the centre. However, that is part of the attraction especially if it is a romantic getaway. Limited water sports due to most of the area being protected beaches. Great for a long weekend break or one week stay.
Watamu is lovely but not enough restaurants of variety foods and a lot of the hotels in the area are depressed and not maintained. I understand this completely and sympathise with them for the loss of tourist s and other visitors due to covid! Its sad. But not much to do in watamu. Most places not offering different types of day time entertainment.
Watamu is just one stretch of road. It is good for a lazy stay if you want peace and a chilled-out stay. Most of the good restaurants take a booking. If you miss booking a restaurant, forget your lunch or dinner. Restaurants close service at 11 pm. There are ample local bars for drinks. It is advisable to book self-catering accommodation and cook your own food.

Pole Pole Beach House felt like a home away from home. Peter (the owner), Beatrice, Esther and Safari (who help run the place), went above and beyond during my stay. I am sure that this treatment extends to all travellers who happen to stay at the house. I like that the Pole Pole Beach House felt just like a home in many ways. It’s devoid of a resort feel and for beach lovers it’s a quick stroll down to the shore. Thank you Peter, Beatrice, Esther and Safari!
Watamu
The premises is really nice and the private beach is one of the best spots, I would say, along Watamu. You can walk very far during low tide and hotel area with sun loungers is lovely. We fully understand that due to COVID hospitality branch is suffering a lot. You could see that they do their best to keep ongoing. So the whole complex has a lot of potential, pool area and beach are great!
EVERYTHING!!! This is the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in!! I loved everything about it! The service and the staff were so kind. The attention to detail on every room and every piece of furniture and artwork made me really feel like I was at home in beautiful mama Africa. The location is great in the facilities were very convenient. I highly highly highly highly recommend this hotel!
The stay was absolutely splendid. The privacy, serenity and support from the host, Catherine and her staff Tunda and Jimmy made our stay worth. They are very warm and welcoming. My friends and I enjoyed every bit of our stay. This was one of the best decisions we made. We had the whole beautiful cottage to ourselves. Our hearts are full. Thank you Catherine for being such an amazing host.
Watamu
Hotel itself is small, 10 rooms, which is good if you want piece and quite. The area itself is very clean, well kept and the owners are doing a fantastic job. The italian restaurant in the hotel is great, would come back for food when back in Watamu. The beach is also quite, not a lot of beach boys and the 7 islands are easily accesible by crossing the water on foot when the tide is low.
Watamu
Seven Islands Resort in Watamu lives up to its bidding, in every sense of the word. It’s location is amazing and neighbours the famed Papa Remo restaurant. The staff are amazing and so is the food. Breakfast is nicely set up and it’s Sandy beaches are clean courtesy of the beach boys who volunteer to take out trash. Oh and the swimming pool is massive. Looking forward to my next trip.

Watamu
The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully done but not maintained too well. The furniture is very good too. The staff were accommodating and friendly and really tried their best. At New Year they purchased more types of drinks for the guests which was nice. The hotel is a good one but really needs taking care of.

We had a great time at Zawadi Residence, which is ideally located between Watamu village and the Beach, while offering a quiet location to rest and enjoy some down Time after travelling around Kenya. Adorable staff and amazing breakfast - highly recommence ! And book directly by calling the host if possible ;)
The place is very nice because of the access to the beach (which is beautiful and clean). The food is delicious and the staff (kenyan) is very kind. What we enjoyed also was the fact that this place was very quiet, not too much animation or music.
Watamu
The vibes are great! The room was beautiful and perfectly clean. I loved having two pools with different atmospheres. The staff was very friendly, the location is amazing just by the Creek and with easy access to the beach
Watamu
Very nice place for holiday in the Italian part of Watamu. The only disadvatage was air condition. It worked worse and worse and started little flood in the room at the end. Two pools, very close to beach and village.
Watamu
It was our first time in Watamu and we had the pleasure to enjoy the beautiful beach, which was very clean and I believe is one of the best ones in Watamu. The hotel was very cosy and staff very friendly. Loved it.
Quiet, clean, comfortable, decent WiFi, good breakfast, and wonderful staff. Quick walk to the beaches and nice shops for arts/crafts just outside the door.
