This is a great find! It’s hard to find a hotel suite big enough for 8 people, but this place delivers. All four rooms are spacious, and all three bathrooms have a bathtub and a rain shower. It was a cold night, but the whole space remained toasty despite the high ceiling. The kitchen has basic wares, enough for drinks and snacks. It’s the perfect place for a big group.

The room was neat and clean. HUGE TV and amazing bath tub. My husband really enjoyed it! The rooftop garden was also super cute and cozy! The staff was so kind and made my birthday really special with a note. Even everytime I passed through reception, if there was a new staff member they wished me ‘happy birthday’. They were also so helpful when we needed anything, a taxi, coin wash… Thank you so much!

Lovely room and great facilities for travellers including a pool and free to use laundry facilities. Aldi nice touches like a free drink voucher. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds. We travelled as a family and the location was great to explore the local area on foot.

Deagu is beautiful. It's peaceful, no traffic.

Deagu is beautiful. It's peaceful, no traffic. The people are nice. They helped me in every way. Store clerks and patrons. I didn't fell like a foreigner like i do in Bangkok. They were just chill. I was stationed in Seoul 20 years ago and I don't remember it being this laid back and clean. All the Uber cars were fresh and new modeles. The cars are electric too so no road noise. I'd live there if I could tbh.

Daegu is the highlight of my trip in South Korea, it has a bit of something for everybody and the city is easy to navigate due to the frequent and manageable public transport network. I really enjoyed Gatwabi despite 1300 steps to the statue, the National Museum and both Our Lady of Lourdes and Daegu Jeil churches. The food was a treat no matter what you want to eat it was done to a high standard and suitable for any budget, l really enjoyed the food at Wine Works and the selection of food in the Shinsegae food court. I will definitely be revisiting Daegu and would highly recommend it for a visit if you are in South Korea.

Most places don't open until 11am and the whole city comes...

Most places don't open until 11am and the whole city comes to life at night. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. Daegu Markets is a great place to eat, DagguGoods is a cute little souvenir shop and Pascucci Cafe sells the most devine blueberry yoghurt cake. Transport is cheap and easy to use. Taxi's can be hailed down from the side of the road. People are really nice and willing to help you.

Toyoko Inn daegu is situated in excellent location. Very near to subway station and main shopping street. Hotel price is reasonable with good breakfast. Getting around Deagu is easy either by bus or train.

I spent only one day/night in Daegu and I wish so badly that...

I spent only one day/night in Daegu and I wish so badly that I stayed longer! City is very well connected; I traveled from Busan with a train (45min) and then took a flight from Daegu to Jeju Island (1,5hr), both were very easily manageable. I wish I had more time here because the city was beautiful. It was very clean, new looking, the historic buildings/places looked well taken care of and most importantly, the PEOPLE! I traveled solo and I've been to 9 different cities in Korea and I feel like people here were the kindest. I don't expect anyone to help me with a suitcase, find the right bus stop etc, but people here just offered their help without me asking. It felt very nice as I haven't experienced this in other cities unless I asked for help. In general, people in Korea were extremely friendly and accommodating but I could definitely feel a difference between Seoul and Daegu for example. There seems to be a lot to do from museums, galleries, shopping to parks and hiking; and the city is somewhat walkable, but in general, I find the buses in Korea very reliable and easy to use. There is also a metro which I haven't used but it's going across the whole city. If you do not speak Korean or do not read Hangul, I wouldn't stress as it seemed like everyone in Daegu (regardless of their age) spoke English very well. I didn't get a chance to try lot of local food options as I am vegetarian, which was a struggle in Korea sometimes, however there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan places here. I will definitely spend more time in Daegu next time I visit Korea as I fell in love!

I was charged double for my stay.

I was charged double for my stay. Both charges were made on my credit card in advance of my arrival. Booking.com indicated that my credit card was added to the booking simply to hold the room in advance. I reserved the rooms for myself and 2 colleagues anticipating that my colleagues would be able to pay for themselves for their portion of the bill once we arrived. Now I have a big mess to fix at work Reimbursements for this visit will be comlicated and depend on the honestly of my colleagues whose rooms were charged to my visa card. I'm really disappointed that the hotel insisted on charging my card not only before our arrival, but TWICE before our arrival. I don't know why this booking has completely disappeared from my account in Booking.com either. So there seems to be no way now for me to contact the hotel owner/manager about this problem (of double charges). I will never use this site or this hostel again.

The location was great, next to the commercial streets of Daegu, but still very quiet. We booked the standard room, but the size was good, the room very clean and the bathroom had a curtain. The breakfast was great, with Korean and European options. Great value for price! We were able to do the check-in 30 min in advance, and for the check-out it's possible to leave the luggage at the hotel.

Different from other hotels and guesthouses, you can stay in a Hanok type room. We slept in futons but it was comfortable, the place was very clean and the floor was heated. It was very central to walk around Daegu and the owners were very polite and friendly. They even offered to take us to bus station in their car.
