The location was great, next to the commercial streets of Daegu, but still very quiet. We booked the standard room, but the size was good, the room very clean and the bathroom had a curtain. The breakfast was great, with Korean and European options. Great value for price! We were able to do the check-in 30 min in advance, and for the check-out it's possible to leave the luggage at the hotel.

The hotel upgrade my room without me asking for it. The room was big and clean. I could also use other facilities like the swimming pool , the sauna, the gym and the laundry self-service. The breakfast had many different options. The staff was kind, helpful and I could communicate with them in English with no problem at all. Also, I could keep my suitcase on the store room after my checkout for free to enjoy the city during the day. I would definitely come back again when visiting Daegu.

Daegu is the highlight of my trip in South Korea, it has a bit of something for everybody and the city is easy to navigate due to the frequent and manageable public transport network. I really enjoyed Gatwabi despite 1300 steps to the statue, the National Museum and both Our Lady of Lourdes and Daegu Jeil churches. The food was a treat no matter what you want to eat it was done to a high standard and suitable for any budget, l really enjoyed the food at Wine Works and the selection of food in the Shinsegae food court. I will definitely be revisiting Daegu and would highly recommend it for a visit if you are in South Korea.

Most places don't open until 11am and the whole city comes...

Most places don't open until 11am and the whole city comes to life at night. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. Daegu Markets is a great place to eat, DagguGoods is a cute little souvenir shop and Pascucci Cafe sells the most devine blueberry yoghurt cake. Transport is cheap and easy to use. Taxi's can be hailed down from the side of the road. People are really nice and willing to help you.

Toyoko Inn daegu is situated in excellent location. Very near to subway station and main shopping street. Hotel price is reasonable with good breakfast. Getting around Deagu is easy either by bus or train.

I spent only one day/night in Daegu and I wish so badly that...

I spent only one day/night in Daegu and I wish so badly that I stayed longer! City is very well connected; I traveled from Busan with a train (45min) and then took a flight from Daegu to Jeju Island (1,5hr), both were very easily manageable. I wish I had more time here because the city was beautiful. It was very clean, new looking, the historic buildings/places looked well taken care of and most importantly, the PEOPLE! I traveled solo and I've been to 9 different cities in Korea and I feel like people here were the kindest. I don't expect anyone to help me with a suitcase, find the right bus stop etc, but people here just offered their help without me asking. It felt very nice as I haven't experienced this in other cities unless I asked for help. In general, people in Korea were extremely friendly and accommodating but I could definitely feel a difference between Seoul and Daegu for example. There seems to be a lot to do from museums, galleries, shopping to parks and hiking; and the city is somewhat walkable, but in general, I find the buses in Korea very reliable and easy to use. There is also a metro which I haven't used but it's going across the whole city. If you do not speak Korean or do not read Hangul, I wouldn't stress as it seemed like everyone in Daegu (regardless of their age) spoke English very well. I didn't get a chance to try lot of local food options as I am vegetarian, which was a struggle in Korea sometimes, however there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan places here. I will definitely spend more time in Daegu next time I visit Korea as I fell in love!

I was charged double for my stay.

I was charged double for my stay. Both charges were made on my credit card in advance of my arrival. Booking.com indicated that my credit card was added to the booking simply to hold the room in advance. I reserved the rooms for myself and 2 colleagues anticipating that my colleagues would be able to pay for themselves for their portion of the bill once we arrived. Now I have a big mess to fix at work Reimbursements for this visit will be comlicated and depend on the honestly of my colleagues whose rooms were charged to my visa card. I'm really disappointed that the hotel insisted on charging my card not only before our arrival, but TWICE before our arrival. I don't know why this booking has completely disappeared from my account in Booking.com either. So there seems to be no way now for me to contact the hotel owner/manager about this problem (of double charges). I will never use this site or this hostel again.

It's a provincial city and as such is less exposed to...

It's a provincial city and as such is less exposed to foreign interaction. The people are very accommodating and understanding of this. The parks and riverside walks are breathtaking. The temples are profound.

AFTER I ARRIVED TO DAEGU, I TOOK A TAXI AT THE EXPRESS BUS STATION. THE TAXI DID NOT FOUND THE HOTEL EXACTLY. WE GO AROUND AND AROUND MORE THAN TWICE. BUT WE DID NOT FOUND IT. THE NAVIGATION SHOWED THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL, BUT WE DIDN'T SEE IT. IT'S IN A BAD AREA. I DID NOT DARE GET OUT OF THE TAXI. WE WENT BACK TO THE BUS STATION AND TRAVELED TO BUSAN. SO I CAN'T GIVE AN OPINION ABOUT THE HOTEL.

The hotel is a little far from the center of Daegu, but this depends on your intention for tourism in the city. The hotel is great, large and comfortable room, clean and with lots of amenities. Fair price, free parking and breakfast included in the rate. We intend to return to enjoy more of the local region, which surprised us in terms of its cleanliness and leisure options.

Close to the KTX Station, and Subway, however still a 5-10 min walk to the Hotel entrance. Going to the center with the subway is easy. Very nice rooms, overall good experience, didn‘t use anything else of the hotel tough. Friendly staff there. Water dispenser in the room was nice.
