Featuring free WiFi in public areas, an outdoor pool and a sun terrace, Green View Resort offers accommodations in Ban Nam Pat. Surrounded by the lake, guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Wow what a location. It is off the main road and so it’s quiet and peaceful. 6 bungalows that are well spaced with million dollar views off the lake and mountains. Beds and pillows are soft and comfortable. Kettle, water and coffee are provided in the room as is a fridge with small freezer. You do have to take the kettle up to eating area for refills. Bring your own tea bags for afternoon tea on the deck. Coffee packets are a bit like hot chocolate. We had some instant coffee to add to them which made them better. You can buy beer or wine and hard liquor but no coolers. Morning coffee on the deck is worth the price of admission. One morning there was a fisherman fishing on the lake right in front of our bungalow. Kayak’s are free to use with life jackets. Never a problem getting one. Just grab whatever. We found an island with monkeys not far away. They came down to the water but we where told they don’t go in the water. 15 minute paddle to the right...ask. Pool was one of my favourites. No shade there but I had an umbrella and would stand looking out at the lake...literally spent hours doing that...epic. Pool is about 5’ deep. You can swim in one spot as the jets are powerful enough on one end. Did the 4 hour lunch cruise aboard “Perfect Journey” on Christmas Day. The lunch stop island we had a choice of swimming or leaning how to use a throw net. We fished. Lunch was plentiful with spring rolls.bbq fish, rice and fruit. Killer views from the breakfast and eating area. Can see many light on the lake at night as they night fish. Awesome curries for 45k and large red wine glasses for 25k. Hugh breakfast is included with the room. We stayed for 3 nights but wished we had booked for 7. Bring along an umbrella, tea, coffee, snack food and coolers. They also give you a ride to the gas station or bus station at the end of your stay. Bus is 50k to Vang Vieng or do what we did and stand across from the gas station and wave down a songtaew for 20k. Was 30k coming out.

VV is clearly a tourist town with everything that entails. Lots of places to eat, drink, buggy and motorbike hire, sightseeing trips etc. With transport it is easy to get around and see the many sights that are all around VV. VV itself is about 3.5 hours car drive North of Vientiane so is easy to get to. During these international closure times some of the activities/ shops etc are closed but there is sufficient to interest most people for a short stay.
Vang Vieng is absolutely beautiful. There are many different activities. My favourite was hiking Nam Xay and spending the afternoon at Blue lagoon 3. Even though it's not quick or especially easy to reach due to the roads, it was the quietest and more serene experience. Highly recommend the rock climbing as well! Touring Vang Vieng is very easy. We booked a buggy for a day to visit the lagoons and used our legs the rest of the time. Everything is quite centred and close. Restaurants we loved: il tavolo, Amigo's and Green restaurant.
Paradise for all type of travelers with real nature and mountain, a lot of adventure activities going on daily such as tubing, kayak, bike, climbing, hot air balloon, cave exploration, cave with natural bluish swimming pool, and a lot more. you will find hotels from back packers up to 5 stars hotels and bars with lot of tourist having fun. great place for weekend with family and friends.
Great for adventure enthusiasts, hire a dune buggy and visit the many fresh water lagoons and waterfalls. Tube down the river is very relaxing. Water only flows about walking pace so anyone can enjoy 😊
Its beautiful, and there is lots of natural beauty to explore. I could have used a couple more days. Just prepare for the trip up, it was very curvy roads, so if you get car sick, take care of yourself and be prepared. It was still worth it, even though my daughter got car sick. Also, try to travel outside of rush hours, that would help.
Great scenic views charming natural wonderland spoilt by entitled millennium youth. The viewpoints are magnificent the roads are horrendous. Stoners and wastrels from all over the world congregate here hideous. Petty theft rampant. This place is one of the worlds natural wonders stay smart and enjoy it how it was meant to be not what is has turned out to be.
