Laborie is a small village on the coast with very few tourists. There are 3 decent restaurants and a nice beach within walking distance from anywhere in the town. A great place to go if you just want to relax and enjoy the sun.
We stayed a week in Laborie, then returned for 1 night before going to the airport. Laborie is an unspoilt fishing village, it has a beautiful beach, 2/3 places to eat and very friendly locals. Great place to relax and see real St Lucia
The beach is used by locals and quite relaxing. We generally cooked our own meals, but understand there are several good places to eat in the small town of Laborie, just walking distance down the hill.
LABORIE IS A SIMPLE FISHING VILLAGE WITH SIMPLE SHOPS AND FEW RESTAURANTS. THERE ARE GOOD SUPERMARKETS AND MORE PLACES TO EAT TEN MINUTES AWAY IN VIEUX FORT. THE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL THE SANDY BEACH IS AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL, CLEAN AND VERY QUIET.
The fish market on Saturday morning its must! Its almost only food there so its better to buy other ingredients from bigger town. Our little one enjoyed play football with locals on the beach. Also we just floated in the sea, some days even 4-5 hours.:)
Husband and I stayed for 3 nights at the start of our 3 week holiday to relax before exploring the rest of the island by car and boat. Accommodation was excellent. Very spacious, secure and private. Open plan living, full kitchen facilities, large bathroom and accommodation right on the beach which was lovely to wake up to each morning, the waves washing in against the beautiful sandy beach. The owner Dianne very nice, helpful and couldn't do enough to make your stay perfect. Laborie village is a 5 minute walk down the beach. It's very basic with a couple of shops selling basic provisions and a very nice bakery. There were a couple of places to eat but we didn't venture into the village after dark only because it was a little intimidating, its a small localised village with gangs of males hanging out around the streets. Please don't be put off by this, everyone was polite and do say hello.
