We enjoyed our stay so much. The quietness, the nature, the view on the mountain from balcony. Super nice staff. We walked from hotel 2 km to sinharaya rainforest unesco heritage entrance. We were mesmerized by the nature in the rainforest and the surrounding. The hotel is a Super place.

This wasn't our first stay, so we obviouly like this place. The manager Anand couldn't have been kinder. He looked after us like super VIPs. He was everywhere making sure that we were fine. A big thank you to him. We forgot a swim suit and he offered to send it by courier service to our next hotel, which he did. The hotel itself is small and not for everyone. The rooms needs a complete rework - they don't do this place justice. They are in a poor state. But the location is incredible and I hope, this will never change - please never cut ANY of the trees! This is the biggest asset- the jungle and all its noises, the beautiful light filtering through the canopy.

Jansen is a peaceful, comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and welcome. By far the best part was the pool and the forest views from the bedrooms. Very peaceful, I'd be happy to stay again.

This location is perfect for nature lovers, offering absolutely stunning views. You truly feel like you’re in heaven. A longer stay is needed to fully explore and appreciate the surrounding natural beauty.

Lovely stay at Sunil's home. He was very friendly and flexible with our request. His wife cooked nice meals for us. The room has an incredible room.

Very happy with our stay here. This is a family-run lodge so it's not super fancy, but the hosts make you feel so welcome especially by cooking so so many dishes for breakfast and dinner. Easily the best home cooking I've had in Sri Lanka. The hosts are super nice, and the room has an amazing view on the river edge (as per the name), and you can swim in the river, which is nice. It is a close walk to Doranella entrance and the location is secluded from the main roads and village so it's great if you're looking for more privacy.

After 2.5 hours of driving by car, we were dropped off on a country road, where a tuk-tuk was waiting for us. We left our luggage in the car and took the essentials in our backpacks. The tuk-tuk bumbled off towards the rainforest and after a few kilometers we were dropped off. Then it was on foot for the next 800 metres! The view was beautiful along the way in the lush rainforest with small rivers and ferns as big as cars. Then we reached a clearing in the forest and the view of the place where we were to live opened up. The most beautiful wooden villa in a stylishly delicious design, where a waterfall flows under and into a natural pool and where you are left breathless by such beautiful nature that you are surrounded by. When we got inside we were not disappointed. The decor, materials and design are so delicious and exclusive. We were welcomed with a cinnamon drink and passion fruit with sugar and salt (try it - it's really delicious!). The two men who accompanied us to the house were both cooks and waiters. They didn't know much English, but they were incredibly helpful and service minded. After we had gotten a bit settled in the villa - and had taken 1000 photos of the view - we saw on our phones that there was ZERO coverage. And no WiFi either! So it was off with our UNO playing cards and the books about the rainforest, which were lying out front. Calm fell upon us and we quickly got used to just being and standing and enjoying nature. We were totally "disconnected" from the world, but became "connected" with nature. After a delicious barbecue dinner, the two men came up to us and gave us a walkie-talkie. "You just call in case of emergency - we are 200 meters away". And then we were all alone in nowhere. Absolutely amazing and also a little scary.
