Great location close to Wilpattu Safari. The place and the room is with very high level - beds, AC, comfort and shower and bath.- The best we experienced in Sri Lanka.
On average, 3-star hotels in Wilpattu cost $59 per night, and 4-star hotels in Wilpattu are $36 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Wilpattu can be found for $370 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
We loved our full day safari. A full day is needed to experience what the park has to offer with wildlife. Our safari came with breakfast and lunch provided and was incredibly generous in servings. Our guide was knowledgeable and knew were track the allusive leopard. It was a truly memorable experience.

Wilpattu is the largest nature reserve in Sri Lanka and encompasses a variety of habitats. It supports an amazing range of flora and fauna from butterflies to chameleons and birds at one end of the spectrum to leopard and elephants at the other. Unlike African parks where animals are easy to see, the dense forests make leopard sightings more difficult. That said we were lucky to see 3 leopards, countless elephants, birds and other animals.
Wipattu is in remote part of the country and accomodation and food options are limited.

Family very nice and very hospitable - made us a lovely traditional Sri lanklan evening meal . At breakfast gave us all bottled water - very nice touch .
They can organise safari also . It was very reasonable - wish we had known before . As we had already booked with another company , had paid over the odds . Owner and his wife couldn’t do enough for us .

The national park was amazing.
The national park was amazing. In only 3 game drives we have seen so many animals, including the leopard and the sloth bear. Not too busy, from time to time you see another jeep. The place is well preserved and taken care of.

I have never been on safari but we took a full day safari and I'm so glad we chose that option. We saw leopards, elephants, wild hogs, wild ox, a bear, three types of deer, howler monkeys, more birds that i could count. The variability of the landscape in such a contained area was incredible - wetlands, savannah, beach, lake, forest (several types it seemed). It was so so beautiful.
