We were welcomed by Fatima in the rose room and that got everything off to a great start and set the tone for our entire stay. There was an amazing selection at breakfast, but a bit pricy; I may recommend walking down to Boston Cafe for a meal there. There are stunning views and the gardens were being severely underutilized by the other guests, from what I could tell. Gym and sauna services are fantastic, though I never booked a massage.

Someone has been through this place and changed it from a supposed "'no go area for travellers" into a very pleasant place to visit. I lived in Cairo for three years and Tanger is a whole level of cleaner and less frantic. The tourist touts aren't too pushy or too numerous as I was expecting. Everyone I met that lived or worked there (not tourists) were pleasant to deal with and respectful. The prices were clearly a little elevated for the tourists but a bit of respectful bartering worked. We ate in a variety of restaurants and all the food felt clean and none of us got tummy issues from our stay!
The haven on our two day trip was the Gran Central Cafe in Little Socco. They have WiFi, lots of tables, chocolate pancakes, good coffee and a good variety of food on the menu.
I saw no sign of Police patrolling but I felt secure. People generally spoke Arabic, French, English, Spanish.
If you're after a relaxing, peaceful, quiet city break, go elsewhere. This is a beautiful, interesting, frenetic, bustling hive of things to stop and experience. We went in Mid July and it was HOT.
I would go again, but would ensure I had accommodation with AC/WiFi.

Very clean area, money was obviously being invested in improving the city in all areas.
Nice watching the world from our balcony and no drunk people!
We (2 females) were glad we’d done our research on what to wear as I’d have felt self conscious in our normal summer clothes. When we visited we so no other Brits/Americans etc so this may change in the summer with more tourists.
Taxi from the airport was very easy and fab value

Tangier is lovely.
Tangier is lovely. So much history, culture and amazing food!!! Getting lost in the medina is a requisite for a visit here, but all you need is to ask for directions and the kind people here will be very helpful even if you don't speak the language! Our stay of 4 days at the beginning of our travels thru Morocco and 3 days at the end of out trip was perfect. Enough time to learn our way thru the medina and to see all the sights and eat so much tagine! Come to Tangier, it is beautiful!!!

I loved Tangiers.
I loved Tangiers. It helped that I booked the perfect hotel for me. The hallways, gathering areas, and reception had lots of old-world charm. The desk staff were very kind. The location also was perfect for me. I enjoyed visiting the municipal beach. Who knew beaches could include horses and camels? I ate at local restaurants, and the food was good, and the staff was attentive. Best of all, I enjoyed watching the people go by and the sunset at night. Just chillin'.
Tangier American Legation is 5 minutes from the hotel and is a wonderful museum about the Tangier/American relationship. The laundry and hammam are a block away. The Medina and the ferry to Tarafa are very close. I took a day trip to Chefchoua, the Blue City. I took the Red Bus, but it is also possible to take a taxi around the city for $20.

It's beautiful beach town, the sea is beautiful and blue.
It's beautiful beach town, the sea is beautiful and blue. Lots of interesting museums to visit in the old medina. And fun city to visit the outskirt of and close to be able to do fun day trips to other cities like Chefchaouen and Tetoune.
The Riad is so beautiful - the interiors will take your breath away! Our room was very beautiful, especially the door, the ceiling and the view from the window! The staff in the hotel is very very friendly and their hospitality is top notch.
Their breakfast has a ton of variety and the juices were great.
I can't stop raving about this Riad and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Tangier and be at a walking distance from the prime medina area!
With a beautiful view on the port of Tangier, this old palace is also close to the Medina. The decor is sumptuous; this is why this hotel is called a museum ! The staff is welcoming and helpful .
Breakfast is correct , with the possibility of sitting at the lovely terrace with the view on the port and the bay .
The location is excellent: it is walking distance from the Medina, the Marina and the major boulevards of Tangiers.
The staff are very helpful, considerate and kind.
The hotel itself has an old-world charm, a throwback to the time when Tangiers was one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world.
The hotel is right in The Medina. Has just 3 rooms which makes it very cosy. The furniture and interior design is lovely.
The breakfast was really nice. One of The best in Marocco.
Nice rooftop view of Tangier and close to the main road. It was our last day in Morocco and this place is the best ending we’re looking for. Will definitely come back!
