Hotel Tomboctou is a former kasbah located in Tingir, central Morocco. It has an outdoor terrace, a floral garden and an outdoor swimming pool. Hotel Tombouctou is located in a historic Kasbah, or fort, that has been lovingly restored. The main building is expansive and features traditional decoration including rugs, antique doors and a beautiful collection or artwork. Entirely made of adobe, guests feel more inside a palace than a hotel. The rooms are located on various levels around the central courtyard and are simple and well appointed with every required amenity. There is a beautiful pool outside the main building with a restaurant located in a berber tent overlooking the pool. Breakfast and dinner are served here and both are fresh and excellent. Breakfast is buffet style with a wide and delicious choice of options, including made to order pancakes and eggs. Dinner features well executed and succulent traditional dishes. There is an included closed parking garage across the street for your convenience. The hotel is close to the old medina and oasis which can be reached on foot (10 mn walk -go at dusk when it comes alive). The staff are very friendly and attentive and went out of their way to help us and point us in the right direction.

Tinerhir is very authentic, with beautiful landscapes of the kasbah and the palmeraie. Nice panorama's and the Todra gorge is closeby. We arrived by bus and had lunch at the mosque square. The lunch was also very good. The had dinner at the Guesthouse and it was our best, prepared and served with dedication.
To be clear, we stayed outside of Tinerhir closer to the gorge. But, the area has extraordinary beauty and it was well worth the long drive from Marrakesh. We were there for only 24 hours and could have stayed a couple of more days for hiking and just soaking in the landscape.
This review is mostly about tinghir surrounding and the gorge of Todra especially. Beautiful place, gorge and oasis are wonderful, relaxing. YOu can do climbing and hiking around. Beautiful walks around possibility to see/meet berberes settlement and view of Atlas from some semi desertic peaks around the gorge.
As I have previously stated, entire experience in Morocco felt like carefully orchestrated scam that included booking and TripAdvisor. It seems that there are people getting wealthy creating flashy images of places that are very, very basic and receiving money for the bookings via banks because they simply don't trust people that actually run those place. Dirty, greedy , run down and oppressive country, where I felt especially sorry for women. I was at least hoping that food would be nice, which didn't happen either: despite the presence of all these souks, food is blunt, overcooked and extremely repetitive.(and overpriced) Definitely won't be coming back
A really beautiful town with lovely friendly locals! There is a lot of nice nature to see, plenty of walks that can be done. Horse riding and rock climbing is also available! A lovely place to relax and enjoy!
Fatima and her family who helps with the hotel were very kind, smiley and helpful. We loved the terasse and the view on the village, as well as the simple and clean room. We did the half day treking tour through the canyon and we loved it. Her brother is a guide and he told us many interesting stories about life there. Fatima and her art have also a nice story so in the end we even bought a painting from her which will be a wonderful memory on Morocco.
The hotel part has very big and comfortable rooms with ensuite bathrooms that have lots of hot water and pressure in the shower. Staff is very friendly and helpful ( they sent me the phone charger i had forgotten to our next destination) and the kitchen offers a good variety of options for dinner. breakfast was great. the situation between the Palmery viewpoint just outside Tinghir , and the Todra gorge is perfect.

Important information for those who travel by car: do not turn from the main road until you see the sign of Riad Dar Bab Todra (even if your GPS says to turn earlier, trust only the signs of the Riad). The hotel is amazingly beautiful. There is also an outside pool. We had a tasty dinner when arrived. Good choice of dishes for breakfast with unlimited coffee and fresh orange juice. Private parking is quite big.

Kasbah Omari is a wonderful place to stay! The views are amazing, the WiFi was great for catching up with writing and blogging, and the host was incredible kind and generous. As a bonus, they had safe parking for our motorcycle in the courtyard. It’s easily one of our most favorite places we’ve stayed in Morocco so far.
The hotel is an authentic kasbah, renovated in the 90's with ancient artwork displayed everywhere in the building. The host was really nice and gave us a few tips of what to visit with a custom made map of the area. The room was nice and clean with air conditioning.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late in the night and the host still awaited us with a warm smile and a helpful hand. The included breakfast was delicious. Truly a hidden gem in Tinerhir that I can recommend to everybody.

The Hotel was close to the Gorge with plenty of parking. Plentiful Breakfast of Croissant, bread, jams, egg, yoghurt, orange juice and tea or coffee. They also prepared my evening meal which was great.
