Set in Tivat, Boutique Hotel La Roche features a private beach area and seasonal outdoor swimming pool. With free WiFi, this 5-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. Let's start from the beginning: once you enter the hotel the calm surrounds you. The smile of the lady in the reception accompanies you to your room which is exactly as shown on the pictures, with the most fantastic velvet coach to relax, with automatic adjustment of your room temperature - very handy when outside is 40 degrees. The size of the bathroom with products from RITUALS and the absolute calm of the huge room an added value. I really liked the very nice collection of black and white photos on the stairs. I enjoyed the fabulous breakfast by the sea breeze. I swam in the piscine with a view on the bay and I would have liked to stay longer. The parking in front of the hotel was very convenient.

Tivat is a relatively new town, the part by the sea has been completely renovated and concreted. the next street is the old part of the city that has stood the test of time. The former naval base is now "Porto Montenegro", a superyacht marina developed by Canadian billionaire Peter Munk, then sold in 2016 to the Investment Corporation of Dubai. At the same time, resorts were created in which you can close yourself and enjoy the pool and at high prices. One-day entrance to the resort with a swimming pool is 60 EUR per person per day. if you are looking for old towns, cobbled streets, walls, then look elsewhere.
Tivat was nice. Lots of restaurants to choose from. As it is a port with lots of yachts there are some extremely expensive restaurants, but generally the food is a good price. Recommend the Big Bite for a fantastic burger and breakfast at Babi’s was fantastic and for a cheap price! The locals and staff in restaurants were some of the friendliest I’ve ever met whilst travelling. So nice and grateful, they don’t hassle you, very polite. The boat trips are lovely. There are lots of busier ones from Kotor but we found a private one for a good price with Seetours from Tivat that was very relaxed and worth paying a bit extra for (for private). It’s 5 mins from the airport making it very easy to get to. There aren’t many flights a day leaving so noise isn’t an issue. If you have a hire car Tivat is an excellent location for exploring and public parking is very cheap. Kotor is a 15 minute drive away and worth a visit. Persast is great for food and a €1 climb up the church tower but nothing else there really. We also drove up the serpentine pass which was lovely, fantastic views. Boat trip on Lake Skador was amazing too. All within a 1.5 hour drive of Tivat.
If you are with children, with its beaches it can be a good place. Visiting the maritime historical museum was a great experiment. But otherwies Tivat is not a place for me. Nothing to see (comparing to other nearby locations).
Small place with nice beaches. Great location to another bigger cities...Kotor, Budva. Nice caffe bars and good customer service. Very close to Porto Montenegro. Not enough signs for banks and important places.
We stayed on the south side of Tivat close to Porta Montenegro. I did not find Porta Montenegro as big and impressive as I imagined. Tivat has something to offer for everyone with cheaper restaurants and shops on the south and north of Porta Montenegro. We found a great beach and restaurant 'Corleone' and decided we would have preferred to have stayed on the north side of Tivat as we felt is was probably quieter and better for families. Because of covid we stuck to outdoor activities.
nice a quiet small town with not too many people. has a lot of restaurants and a net of supermarkets. the bus comes 1 per hour. the only way is a private car and taxi. no place for bicycles due to extremely narrow roads and mountains. it is possible to rent a bicycle in the port's hotel like Astoria and tern around the area. the sea is perfect and clean. a big pleasure to take trips around like rafting, blue caves, scadar lake. the trip to the northern part takes 5h one direction. for budget-friendly travel better choose kotor
I feel that I slightly underscored in my previous review so setting the record straight here. The Helada is a small hotel with a relaxed atmosphere, comfortable rooms and quality furnishings. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and, above all, helpful. The hotel is handy for the airport but is also only a short walk away from nearby beaches and from Tivat town centre/waterfront. Overall, there’s very little to fault and I’d have absolutely no hesitation in returning to stay again the next time we are in Montenegro.
Tivat
It’s a good and nice place , the owners treated us like we’re family, they’re amazing people with amazing kid’s. The prizing is also worth it. Not far from the beach 🏖 and the food stores are at reach for just five minutes walk. The workers will helps with whatever you need; the moment you arrive you’ll automatically feel at home.( you have kitchen to cook your own food) If I get to visit Montenegro again, Tivat will be my first stop and Hostel Anton is the LOCATION no doubt. 😉
Great location and only hotel with a real beach in Tivat! Very helpful and kind staff. It was the 1st week end after COVId lockdown and we enjoyed it all the hotels parts: the room, the beach the porch. Also very good food. Excellent internet connection both in the room and the beach alike. 10 minutes walk from Porto Montenegro. Excellent quality/price ratio.
Tivat
Lovely location, it’s well close to the shop, Porto Montenegro and the bus station. The host is accommodating, friendly and thoughtful. Big plus that it is dog friendly: there is a little garden so my dog could enjoy meeting other dogs that live at the side. The apartment is clean, well equipped and lit. The studio would suit very well for warm seasons
Tivat
Perfect place in Montenegro if you are there to enjoy a calm and peaceful stay. We had a great beach view from the terrace and a piece of the beach for our own. It is away from the busier part of the town which was exactly what we were looking for. The place is simple yet practical and very poetic.
Tivat
Clean apartment, close to Porto Montenegro, friendly hosts, who are very helpful. They arranged transfers for us, parking for our car and stored our luggage while we were away for several days. Very good value for money Do not expect 5 star hotel and you will not be disappointed
Tivat
Lovely apartment in a fantastic location. Beautiful views from the terrace from which to watch the sunset across the bay. 10 minutes walk along the seafront to all the bars and restaurants near Porto Montenegro Marina. I fully recommend it.
