Wonderfully friendly, helpful and hospitable hosts and a fantastic location with stunning views over a peaceful village of vineyards to Lake Skadar. The little restaurant is cosy and welcoming and the dinner we had of fresh trout was delicious. We also really enjoyed the wine from the family vineyard.

Set in Virpazar, 1.1 mi from Lake Skadar, Apartman Pavle Virpazar offers accommodations with a garden, free WiFi, a 24-hour front desk, and a shared kitchen. The apartment is a short walk from the train station in the lower floor, the family lives upstairs and they are very kind! They even went to pick me up at the station and since it was late they prepared a meal for dinner and gave me a bottle of their homemade wine. The bed is comfortable, very warm heater, private bathroom with hot shower. There is a small fridge and camping stove and all kitchen utensils you need. I felt like at home. I will strongly recommend staying here!
Virpazar is the perfect place to spend 1-2 days. Calm, beautiful nature and the lake is close by. We rented a car and were very mobile and were able to drive around the neighboring villages and even went to a wine tasting with Garnet (Misko Lekovic).
Tiny village on Lake Skadar, haven for nature lovers. There are a few restaurants serving local food and wine, an Italian restaurant, a bar or two and one supermarket. No shops - just 4 small stands selling tourist stuff eg fridge magnets & postcards. You can go for a boat ride, or hire a kayak. There are a few vineyards within a couple of miles. Bike hire is available in the village. Our favourite meal was at the Pub Virski, delicious pork, chips & veg, and trout with potatoes, just 7€ each.
Virpazar is a small town on your way from the coast to capital of Podgorica. Reachable both by train and road (first town after you exit the Sozine tunnel on your way from the coast to interior). Virpazar has a long and vibrant history of a strategic crossroad between the seaside, mountain ranges that surround it, and the huge Skadar lake. Its historic importance is still visible through the remains of the old fortifications and settlements, the market-square, the old bridges etc. Today, Virpazar is somewhat of a tourist gem; already recognized by tourists who stop-by on their way to Podgorica, but not too crowded. Offers various accommodation that will serve all types of travelers. Famous for its local cuisine and wine, it will not let you down. Situated on the shores of Skadar lake, protected as a natural reserve, it is also a starting point for various trips to the beautiful lake.
Virpazar is a really small city with a few restaurants. The tour (you have many) to the Skadarlake is really beautiful. From Virpazar it is a +/- 60 minute ride to Reijka viewpoint and the view over there is amazing!
Lake Skadar is a truly beautiful place. The chalets were well located, about ten minutes from the town of Virpazar which commands excellent views of the water. The town itself is very busy and if you are visiting by car we would recommend parking on the large car park just outside the village and walking in as traffic jams soon build up. If you can find a local guide we would also recommend taking a private tour of lake by canoe. The local supermarket is small but well stocked.
we stayed 1 night and i dont think it is necessary to stay more unless you want to hike around lake skadar for a day. do the boat trip, maybe a wine tasting nearby, and we had dinner in the restaurant thats on the boat, it was actually really good. we were happy with our stay even if there was a massive storm, so i assume when its sunny it must be really really nice
Marko’s place is so warm, clean & nice, so comfortable that just feel like home! Marko is a passionate host, he loves to introduce his place and the surroundings to you and his sister Marina is so great on the boat, she made nice breakfast to me and took lots of amazing pictures for me during her boating tour. What a lovely family to stay with!
Excellent location. Kind staff. Very good breakfast.
