Nosy Be is a lovely island, although you need to be prepared for the roads and poverty, especially within the towns. In the countryside, there are some amazing places to stay and visit. Money can be difficult to get hold of as most of the ATMs are within the towns. We found that our hotel would exchange Euros for Ariary but that may not be the same everywhere. There is a great hostel in Hell Ville called Tamana - it has a great roof top bar and serves really nice food. The Baobab Restaurant in Ambataloaka is really nice and serves a wide range of food but you do need to book in advance.

If you are considering Madagascar do not bother with the mainland, Nosy Be is cleaner, much more beautiful and has all the things one looks for when visiting. Excursion to see the wildlife and the mountain named Mount Passot will be the highlights of my trip here.

The hotel is super nice and I could see the sunset everyday over the sea, so it was amazing! The whole staff is very nice, very helpful and very friendly. Natalie is just an amazing host and super nice person. She helped me out with all of the tours I wanted to do and also helped me when I got a bit sick. She was great and her team is wonderful. The hotel is just tiny and nice, very beachy vibes and you can see the sea from almost every room.

Boat trips from the hotel, to snorkel in crystal clear water, with turtles, and a multitude of fish on a deserted island are really special. Traditional fishing in the bay was great fun. Walking along the beach by the hotel you can reach beautiful mangroves, or a little local fishing village.

We had a perfect and relaxing stay! All of the staff were super kind and helped us in any way. You can notice that a lot of effort and love was put in the hotel, with a nice pool, bungalows next to palm trees and lovely hammocks and other seating areas. The restaurant offered very good local as well as international cuisine. We strongly recommend the fish of the day!
