Czech RepublicIf I could, I would give a 20/10! First of all, the price is great for what you get and the room was super clean. But what I appreciated the most is the host - super welcoming but also extremely helpful. In Ohrid there is no public transport going to the airport, so you need to get a taxi. However, my flight was on Easter sunday when most people don't work. The host still managed to arrange a taxi for me at 5 in the morning. If you need to fly from Ohrid and are afraid about how to get to the airport, this is the right place for you!

Ohrid is great in many ways.
Ohrid is great in many ways. A place to see culture, history, enjoy many events and dine in great restaurants. Fave restaurant St. Sofia, near the church St. Sofia. Great service, atmosphere and food. Beach - Kaneo. Lack of food there but Blagica is one of the serves who makes it very enjoyable place even though it gets crowded. Still, perfect location, right under the church. Activities: paragliding, diving and visit of St Naum by boat.

Ohrid is really a rare blend of nature, history, and culture. The shimmering lake framed by Galicica mountain, the crisp air, mid centuries-old monasteries, and the elegant 19th‑century architecture all make it feel timeless. Add in the vibrant cultural events, and you’ve got a place that’s both serene and lively.
The archaeological finds really show how deep its history runs (Gorma Porta). The presence of Celtic tribes and merchants, along with graves containing golden masks, Celtic helmets and warrior weapons, paints a vivid picture of a place that was not only spiritually and culturally rich but also a hub of trade and power.
These discoveries connect Ohrid to the wider tapestry of ancient Europe, where warrior traditions, craftsmanship, and commerce intertwined. The golden masks suggest ritual or status, while the weapons highlight the martial culture of the time. It’s remarkable how the city embodies both the sacred — monasteries and churches — and the worldly — trade routes and warrior heritage.
Ohrid means Oh the hill! Which hill it was, it should be discovered.
It’s no wonder Ohrid is often called the “Jerusalem of the Balkans” and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The way natural beauty and human creativity coexist there is something special.

Definitely worth the visit - UNESCO site, strong and heavy cultural place.
BUT tastelessly overdeveloped, very crowded and extremely expensive for what it offers.
A few hours stop to visit a few places and go sleep somewhere else.

Ohrid was just such a pretty place.
Ohrid was just such a pretty place. The lake is stunning, so clean, you can see right through the water. The main area was nice too with lots of lovely stalls & shops, also some live music when I was there. Very easy to get around.
My 2 day stay just wasn’t enough. I could do a week next time

The Old town is very interesting.
The Old town is very interesting. It has many beautiful medieval churches and a gorgeous fortress abowe the town. The beaches on the Ohrid lake are very small, but very nice. The food on the streets and in the reatauranta was very good or excellent. The people are very open and welcoming.
On other side, the new part of Ohrid was a great dissapointment. It was very dirty, with trash all over the streets, neglected courtyards, ruined old houses and crumbling industrial buildings from communist era. Newer saw such ugly place.

There are no proper signs at the bus station about exit and...
There are no proper signs at the bus station about exit and ticket office or they are wrong / misleading, the taxi drivers often overcharge and there is little food for vegetarians and vegans, especially cheap food.

I love this hotel. Our room was clean, comfy and had a great lake view. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They have 2 big pools and there is also a beautiful beach in the lake (only 5 mins from the hotel by walk) is also an option for swimming.
Ohrid was incredible that I want to come back as soon as possible and villa bisera will be the one that I would choose for accommadation again.

Good hotel with excellent location and beach. The rooms are spacious, simple and clean. Breakfast was good (served in Hotel Metropol) and we really liked the view of the lake from the room. There is a mini bus service (allowing you to go to Ohrid or Sv. Naum) and a few restaurants nearby the hotel. Good value for money.

Beautiful hotel. Amazing views over ohrid. Rooms were impressive, clean and spacious. Lovely balcony overlooking the lake. Pool was fantastic, very comfy loungers, always loungers available. Good drink service at the poolside

It's not far from Lake Ohrid. The supermarket was close, so it was easy to go grocery shopping. It was a bathroom, kitchen, veranda small space, but it was perfect. The owner of the hotel is friendly. I relax for a week.
