This was an excellent place for us to stay, but not just thanks to the very comfortable room, the abundant breakfast, the kind staff and the perfect location; this was way more than that, because it was a place of humanity and empathy. Vangel checked us in and was there every day to show us such kindness and generosity, he was there for whatever we needed and he made everything so much better for us.

This country is so underrated,it was beautiful.
This country is so underrated,it was beautiful. I loved the culture, the people are so kind and helpful. Its an amazing country to visit for a couple of days.(We went for 3 days). I highly recommend taking a daytrip from Skopje to Ohrid, its a beautiful city with such a good vibes and so much thing to see - and its very different from Skopje. The only thing I was dissapointed is the Archaelogical museum from inside because the exhibitation is really short - like a 10 min max. 150 denar for only one floor, the full museum ticket is like 300 denar i think, it doesnt worth it because you can see the whole museum under 15 min. Highly recommend during to the old bazaar, its really pretty and authentic.

Skopje is, well, how can I put this, unusual.
Skopje is, well, how can I put this, unusual. The old Ottoman part of town is pleasant, though it cannot compare to Mostar or Sarajevo or even Prizren. The modern city is a collection of vulgar monuments and hideous new builds, all made out of concrete and faced with marble or some other cladding, and all looking pretty tatty without ever having had the dignity of growing old. It has to be seen to be believed. It is iso awful it is almost good. The regime's buildings are not helped by the litter, piles of filth and graffiti everywhere. As for the old buildings, many of them have been over-restored and are effectively replicas of old buildings: this is particularly true of the castle at the top of the hill. I wouldn't say I regret going, and the memory will certainly persist.

Amazing city with a lot of history.
Amazing city with a lot of history. Ulica Macedonia is amazing, with lot of cafes and restaurants. The Old Bazaar offers a glimpse to the history with the Ottoman empire. Lots of monuments from the reach Macedonian history (from Alexander the Great to now). Lots to do if you are an outdoorsy type. You can take the cable car and go to Vodno for some spectacular views and hiking. Canyon Matka is near by with amazing views as well. The nightlife is really good with a lot of choices. The prices are cheaper than the rest of Europe, so you get more for less. I will visit again and will spend more time in Ohrid (Medieval town on a lake, and Kokino (bronze age observatory)..

Skopje is a beutiful city with lots of culture and history,...
Skopje is a beutiful city with lots of culture and history, lots of very nice traditional restaurants and some very nice walks. The river Vader runs through the middle of the city. One of the bridges over it is 500 years old! Be sure to visit m vodno mountain. Home of the larges cross in Europe, cable car journey to the top is 1 euro per person, you can see right across the city. Also vodno is good for people hiking or mountain biking. There is plenty of refreshments at the top and lots of areas to relax.

There are many errors in the listing.
There are many errors in the listing. The reception is closed from 10 PM till 8 AM. There is no bar (I don't use anyway). There is no seating area in the room, except for a straight backed chair at the desk. There is no in-house restaurant. The only meal available is breakfast, served at 8 AM. It's not a continental breakfast. There is one set menu: orange juice, omelette, a cheese sandwich, lots of sliced bread and coffee.
The hotel is in a quaint and wonderful city location below Vodno, and the hotel itself is one of Skopje's hidden gems. The whole property is modern, super clean, and tne people working there are some of the nicest you'll meet ready to make your stay there even better. Their spa facilities are also one of the best I've been to, and I can't wait to be back each stay. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone - it's a quintessential Skopje/Macedonia stay and experience.
Great helpful and nice staff, I’ve really felt welcomed in this hotel! Great bed, location is good, it’s a nice stroll to Skopje city center. Free and safe parking is a godsend while driving around the Balkans and of course Leonardo Hotel has it! thanks for the great stay! hope to come back soon
The best apartment I've ever been in. Clean and smells new. Kitchen equipped with everything you need. Close to the center, private parking. Very good contact with the owner, helpful in finding a good restaurant and planning a tour of Skopje. I really recommend it.
The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Located in Skopje center. Walking distance from main square and most of the attractions. Breakfast is very rich. I have been in this hotel before and I plan to go back again, whenever I am in Skopje.
