Shamrock is less than a 5-minute drive from Ghadira Bay sandy beach. It offers a sun terrace, air conditioning, and 2 balconies overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and Mellieha Cathedral. Wi-Fi is free.... The communication was very easy. Mario emailed me after my booking to ask if i need a taxi from the airport to the place but i didn't want a want one. He then emailed me the directions from the airport to the place which I thought was very thoughtful. Upon arrival he provided me with loads of info on Malta and the do's. Again very thoughtful and helpful. The flat itself was GREAT! I was on the top floor and WOOW, how lucky was I. I had 2 terraces to myself plus a third one to share with anyone else. By the way there is a lift. My flat was very comfortable and clean. There is a fridge, a cooker and utensils etc..for those who fancy cooking. There are quite a few restaurants 5 mins walk away from the place, and also some supermarkets. Bus wise, there are plenty of buses to take you to Valletta, the airport, the local beach, the Mdina (will need to change though somewhere), to the Ferry areas to go to Gozo and Camino.

Mellieha has one of the largest sand beaches on the island and several natural walks nearby to enjoy, also a couple of reserves nearby. If you want to discover the other islands it is not far from the ferry services either, though I would advise you go to Gozo and stay a night or two there as well. A Comino day trip can be booked when sleeping in Mellieha. The ideal length of your stay will depend on how much you want to do. You can easily spend a few days there and go off in different directions if you hire a motorized vehicle, as Malta is a small island and has a lot of natural attractions. You can also go scuba diving, rent a jetski or go mountain climbing.
Quiet place, less touristic. You can take a boat from Cirkewwa than go to Comino island (10 euros return ticket / only 15 mins boat trip to get there :-) ) to enjoy the Blue Lagoon 1-2 hours... ;-) Book a sunbed / umbrella to Mikel team and enjoy life ^^ Not far from Mellieha Bay : go to the perfect and amazing restaurant ZEFERRINO / or the Square Bar by night / with local fresh food and local people. To move, use the great BOLT taxi (application to download on your phone ) : fast, cheap, friendly and very convenient ! Have a great trip ! :-)
People are quite friendly and there is no problem with locals apeaking english.... Nice town to have a walk, especially around the Church and it is easy to get around.... Must admit the only thing I found it a little bit sad is too obvious contrast of modern buildings versus old ones with the charms...
Close to sandy beach, lots of restaurants, lots of buses to easily visit other cities. Bus is 2€ good for 2 hours. Best to get a week bus ticket. About 15 mins to Cirkewwa by bus from Adenau bus stop ( near the church) to take ferry to Gozo to visit the Citadel or boat to Blue lagoon in Comino. About 1 km away to Popeye's village where you can visit, swim and eat. Lots of restaurants/cafe and grocery/ little shops to buy souvenirs with good affordable prices. I missed eating fresh catch fish, so if you love seafoods try the following restaurants in Mellieha.Pergola's Caverna bar's grilled sea bass and duo appetizer, pan fried swordfish and grilled tuna at Maritim's resto, fish of the day, grilled sea beam at Tosca resto, solana hotel. Grilled octupus and calamari at Ta'Randi in Mellieha. ( July 20-27,2020 ) Don't forget to visit Fontanella Tea room at Mdina ( the silent city).
Mellieha is a very nice place to visit with a lot of history and nice churches , outside the hotel we had the hop on hop off bus so we could go all over the island ,, very good restaurants , and a boat that can take you to Comino , and Mellieha bay is a massie sandy beach not to be missed .
If you're in Malta, it's a must to visit Mellieha especially in summer months. It caters with nature views along side beaches to view or even swim in. And if you're a choosy person when it comes a place to swim in, you have a lot of beaches one can swim in, from sandy to rocky beaches with just a short distance between them. If you want to eat a mouthful burger must attend to Apple's Eye Restaurant in Golden Bay, you'll fall in love with their burgers. While for a good pizza on a budget, attend to Bayleaves Pizzeria, Mithna Restaurant or Belleview Bistra-Cafe-Pizzeria. If you're more inclined on fish such as lobster, try Hilltop Restaurant. If you're the type of buffet person, you'll find a lot of hotels which cater in buffet style in Mellieha, just check if drinks are included in the price or else. If you want to travel around Malta, it's best by car but you have to watch out for rush hours which are mainly from 6.30hrs till 8.30hrs and from 15.30hrs till 18.00hrs. Just remember that parking in certain areas in Malta are sometimes difficult to find. However, if you want to take the bus, think at least 10 minutes before the indicated time and sometime you'll have to wait at least from 15 mins to 30 minutes more in the rush hours.
