One doesn't meet the host at all, instead one communicates with them via WhatsApp or the app messaging. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room big and cleaned every day, there is coffee and tea in the room as well as an electric kettle. There is also a balcony, a Smart TV, air conditioning, a safe, many drawers and shelves, a desk with a chair, a fridge - everything you need. The outlets are suitable for all chargers. We had breakfast included, the food was sooo tasty and there is a lot to choose from. Also, you just cross the street and you're on the beach!

Tarxien is a town with hardly any dining, food shopping...

Tarxien is a town with hardly any dining, food shopping facilities, but with good direct bus connections to Valletta and Marsaxlokk. It is not touristic and therefore very quiet, but still has buildings in typical old Maltese style here and there, Highlight is the Tarxien neolithic temple, not much visited it would appear, but excellent. (I had the site virtually for myself). A lot of the original finds are now in the Archaeological Museum in Valletta, with the site providing copies and the context. The hypogeum is also not far away.

Great location to be based in for all island.

Great location to be based in for all island. Out of busy Valetta but easy access to Valetta and three cities etc. and uber ok price to north of island, bus back worked well. Check out the best pizza (and Italian food) in Valetta at I PUPI.

close to ancient temples and Hypogeum - so easy to visit. Lots of buses go through Tarxien between Valletta and mainly places to the South. However, the buses proved to be much less frequent than advertised, so hiring a car may be essential.

A mixture of village and town, extremely quiet, almost...

A mixture of village and town, extremely quiet, almost deserted by night ( at least where we stayed), which gives you the possibility of nice walks and sightseeing without being disturbed by noisy crowds. Very well connected to Valletta and other areas, close to the airport. In fact, there are a lot of places around Tarxien where you can get by foot. It gave me the feeling of being stuck in time and I totally adored it and the vibes that not only Tarxien, but entire Malta gives you. I would come back any time - in fact I am already planning a longer trip there. Simply amazing!

Tarxien is a quiet district located about 3 km from the airport. There's no hustle and bustle, noise, or other sounds that would disturb your rest. The hotel is a 3-minute walk from the shops and about 10 minutes from the district center. It has a very pleasant atmosphere.

Very nice place, with interesting history and interesting excavations. We liked the proximity to the airport. There are lots of shops and restaurants. No need to rent a car. The bus runs here at very short intervals.

The room was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed for our 6-day stay. It had a private bathroom, a mini fridge, and a small balcony. The breakfast was a continental spread with a wide variety of options. The host was very welcoming and available to provide helpful tips about Malta, even offering some out-of-the-ordinary amenities. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area with plenty of parking spaces, which is a bonus if you rent a vehicle. We highly recommend it!

It's a 500 Yr old town house, very quirky and well named, as there's twists and turns everywhere. It's clean, breakfast is fine, good choice for continental. Staff and owner were pleasant. Its a 10/15min walk into the main square at Tarxien, but uber taxis from there to Valletta, Birgu etc were under €9 depending on where your going. And good bus service from square.

The apartment was newly renovated. It was clean and appointed with modern contemporary lush finishes. The workmanship was of a high standard and amazing. The bedding was also 5 star hotel quality Towels were thick, fluffy and crisp white.
