I have been to Gozo a few times before but the reason for the visit was to go to the opera house to see Verdi's Aida. Victoria has a lot of things to see and the island of Gozo is interesting with many things to see and also wonderful beaches and history
Victoria is the center of Gozo, all bus lines come here. Busses are on time, most of times. But some are only one per an hour. If I come back, I definitely will rent a car (I am not sure the parking situation of Victoria, though).
Victoria is a beautiful city an amazing capital of Gozo. The people are so lovely and welcoming. There are many things to do and see and the history churches and squares are fantastic. Victoria is perfect location for exploring the whole of Gozo.
My comments of Victoria also apply to Gozo and probably most of Malta. Even though there is plenty to see in the way of historical and religious buildings, you may become disturbed by the lack of variety of birds. In fact we only saw sparrows both in the town and also in the country. Even in the harbours, there were hardly any gulls gliding overhead. In the fields, there were no colourful flocks of small birds - only sparrows. So this creates what feels like dead zones here and there, especially if you are interested in the nature of the places that you visit. Unfortunately it seems that all the birds besides sparrows have been eliminated due to excessive over-hunting over the years, which is a shame because with a more varied wildlife and especially birdlife, these could be really special islands.
A beautiful cozy town in the middle of a beautiful island, full of mysterious nooks, amazing views from the citadel and lots of cafes, bars and pubs provides the visitor with everything needed to spend a quiet and beautiful holiday.
A nice little "capital" with some mellow cafes and tasty restaurants, pretty old side streets, a moderately bustling main street, a couple of fine churches and an impressive citadel offering sweeping views of virtually every corner on Gozo. It's also the most sensible place to stay if you want to explore every part of the island - it's central, so in easy walking distance of many attractions including the Ggantija temples and Xewkija Dome, and buses run from here to all corners of Gozo. So while half a day is enough to get a feel for Victoria itself, you might wish to base yourself here as you explore Gozo for a few days.
If you’re in Victoria, you must stay here! 1 minute away from the bus station and the city center. The place itself and the rooms are newly renovated, with all the comforts, ac, super clean, but with the ancient original Maltese look. The host is just the best: a kind and genuine person who loves his job immensely and will help you with anything. Breakfast offers a wide choice of sweet and savory local and homemade products and fruits. 100% recommended
This apartment is in an excellent location in Victoria- walking distance to just about anywhere you want to go. There’s no lift so be prepared to climb stairs. The small balcony was nice with a view to the sea (north facing balcony). It did not face the Main Street. There is a small fridge, toaster oven and hot plate if you want to cook. The washing machine was a nice addition even though we didn’t need to use it.
If your looking for a perfect little boutique hotel to stay in Gozo seconds away from St Georges square this is the place. The owner Charlie is a top guy he made sure we had everything we needed and more, I’ve never stayed in a hotel as clean as this one everything was immaculate. Highly recommend if your only staying for a couple of nights.
The hosts, Patrice and Isabelle, were wonderful. They made the trip to Gozo a great holiday. They were super helpful and gave us many suggestions on where to visit and dine. The hotel was charming, homely and clean in a great location. We would definitely recommened this hotel and hope to return back one day.
The B&B was centrally located in the heart of Victoria so you couldn’t ask for a better location. The owner, Roberto, was incredibly kind and thoughtful and we especially loved the breakfast in the private garden!
If I had the choice between 5***** hotel and Giancarlo apartament I would choose his for 100%! He is lovely guy, who gave us a lot of advices. The house is beautifull and got everything what we needed.
This is a very spacious flat within walking distance of everything in Victoria. The hosts were very accommodating and even helped us find some good food in town upon our rather late arrival.
Very friendly and polite staff! Super clean hotel ax respectful of covid 19 measures that are in place. Great breakfast with plenty of options for various food allergies.
Very nice accommodation close to the historic heart of charming Victoria. Air-conditioning working, kitchen full-equipped and there is a large car park quite near.
Great location in tiny alleyways of central Victoria (Rabat), clean and very cozy room. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.
