Top attraction the San Diego Fort and the Diego Rivera mural or House of the winds are closed due to COVID. Also the most popular sunset cruise AVA REY is closed. Busses have AC are cheap, run well and are frequent. No need to have a car. Taxis are also cheap costing 50 pesos buses are 10 pesos. The Blue buses are entertaining with loud music lights. The Fort is an out door federal museum so no reason for it to be closed. Mask policy in force. Beaches are great and there are plenty of them. I find Mazatlan a better place to visit. DINKA sunset cruise is in Spanish. Worth the price because they have cliff divers for entertainment
Acapulco is not what it used to be. The beaches are overcrowded and dirty, the city itself is hectic and dangerous. But Acapulco is still Acapulco. The bay and the views are spectacular and if you know where to go you'll have an amazing experience. I do not recommend staying in La Costera. The main beaches are so overcrowded and a real mess. Stay in the surrounding hills. Las Brisas is still spectacular, as are other boutique hotels nearby. El Princess and La Piramide are spectacular hotels but they too have suffered from overcrowding and declining services and the beach is not what it used to be...so overcrowded and disgusting, we almost stepped in feces a few times and were almost run over by people driving recklessly on the beach. The beaches toward the airport are a bit better, less crowded. If you havent been to Acapulco you have to go. But choose hotels away from the downtown and Costera and find secluded beaches or clubs if you can.
Acapulco has sadly been very neglected. It felt like a poor location and not the vibrant resort of previous years. The beaches are nice but are extremely overcrowded in parts with lots of rubbish. If you can see past this & accept it you will have a nice time. I would not pick Acapulco for my main 2 week holiday. We are traveling so we can compare with other parts of Mexico, that I would chose over Acapulco.
I stayed in Las Brisas and it had the most awesome view I have even experienced, definitely suggesting to stay there if this is Your thing. Overall traffic was easier than in Mexico City and apart from some massive potholes, the roads were quite good. Possibilities to eat and shop were all there and easily accessible. The reason for an unhappy face was on last day when leaving Acapulco. We were stopped by police at an intersection (picked out among local drivers) and Police started talking that he saw, we drove through 3 red lights (must have had eagle eyes since it was one of the major highways through the city and clearly it was impossible to see more than the one interection we crossed with green light) and he is going to fine us 3x4700 pesos and if we do not have money then ATM is nearby in Soriana. That was massive bull*hit and was straight from the Youtube videos, taking the documents and talking that we can pay tomorrow at police station or we can pay him straight away on the street because he wants to help us get on the plane. We had a plane to catch so my wife and children cried and the bribe went down but still it was an awful experience and just for that I would suggest people to avoid the city at all. We were in Mexico for 3 weeks, 2 weeks in Mexico city and Guernavaca area and 1 week in Acapulco. No problems at all in Mexico City and Guernavaca.
The garbage all over is sickening. The street sewers were continually backing up and flowing down the street. Get off the main drag and the filth and garbage are sickening. How do the locals live like pigs?
The beaches are ok and the water is perfect temperature but the water is ruff with small but strong waves and a strong undercurrent. I am 5feet 8in and a solid 200lbs and the undertow knock me over several times after fighting the water for about 15 minutes i was done, exhausted lol.so if you want to spend your time in the ocean beach be careful and i hope you are a great swimmer. The hotel is located in a great spot you can walk to some restirants and the food is good. Have a great trip
Beautiful property with the most amazing views of Acapulco bay. The hotel knew it was my husbands birthday and went above and beyond to help make our stay special. Ricardo arranged a beautiful private sunset dinner. The food was amazing! Our waiter Antonio was so friendly, polite and helpful. We also had dinner at Saffron, our dinner there was also wonderful. Service and food was 5*. Every single member of staff that we met on the property was so helpful and friendly.
The sea view from the room (junior suite) was fantastic and it was a nice touch with the two balconies but a little bit a shame that there was no furniture on either (café table and two chairs would suffice). The breakfast was good and the attention/service from all staff was excellent also in the pool area and on the beach. Providing drinking water (bottles) in the room on a daily basis is good service as well!
Excellent location. Friendly staff for a big hotel. We loved the view from our room. Nice pool area and beach. The WiFi actually worked which was important to me. Free parking on site was great. I’m not usually a fan of these big resort style hotels but really liked this one and would probably stay again.
Costera Acapulco, Acapulco
This hotel is amazing. I booked this hotel to celebrate my anniversary. WOW! Everything was absolutely beautiful. It was everything I imagined it to be. The private pool was so nice. The scenery was the best. We had a romantic dinner at the restaurant with a breathtaking view of the ocean.
Beautiful old-fashioned hotel with beautiful interiors and perfect ocean coast views, located in Acapulco Diamante, far from traffic and noise. Rooms are big and bright. Beds are comfy. There's a good Italian restaurant in hotel's area.
Costera Acapulco, Acapulco
I like the beach access as well as the hotel pool area lower level how if faces the ocean. location is pretty decent within walking distance 8 minute to some bars. All of which were not fully open during this visit.
The beach is very close, it is located on the main avenue in Acapulco called La Costera and there are many restaurants and shops close. The staff is very kind and they allow you to keep your luggage after check out
Acapulco
Owener Carlos is very friendly and helpful. Housekeeper Edith is most amazing person in Acapulco ❤️ for our family like Mama Teresa. Very comfortable and big beds. Best place in Acapulco where to stay.
I liked the view a lot, it is also on a privileged site on the Costera street, the beach is clean and beautiful, also the shops inside the hotel building are nice and cover your immediate necessities.
Dirty, old and a total lack of maintenance. The beach shades falling over people’s heads. Bed bugs! In ruins, not recommended not a 5 star and never coming back.
The staff was helpful and amicable. The hotel was clean. Nice big pool. Walking distance to a clean and pleasant beach.
Palacio Mundo Imperial has all installations of a 5 star hotel. International standard.
Beautiful hotel ,great large rooms and good quiet location
No era posible que me facturaran y me cambie de Hotel

The apartment with private pool was stunning and the view breath taking. You really feel like a superstar in this place.
