Acapulco has sadly been very neglected. It felt like a poor location and not the vibrant resort of previous years. The beaches are nice but are extremely overcrowded in parts with lots of rubbish. If you can see past this & accept it you will have a nice time. I would not pick Acapulco for my main 2 week holiday. We are traveling so we can compare with other parts of Mexico, that I would chose over Acapulco.
I stayed in Las Brisas and it had the most awesome view I have even experienced, definitely suggesting to stay there if this is Your thing. Overall traffic was easier than in Mexico City and apart from some massive potholes, the roads were quite good. Possibilities to eat and shop were all there and easily accessible. The reason for an unhappy face was on last day when leaving Acapulco. We were stopped by police at an intersection (picked out among local drivers) and Police started talking that he saw, we drove through 3 red lights (must have had eagle eyes since it was one of the major highways through the city and clearly it was impossible to see more than the one interection we crossed with green light) and he is going to fine us 3x4700 pesos and if we do not have money then ATM is nearby in Soriana. That was massive bull*hit and was straight from the Youtube videos, taking the documents and talking that we can pay tomorrow at police station or we can pay him straight away on the street because he wants to help us get on the plane. We had a plane to catch so my wife and children cried and the bribe went down but still it was an awful experience and just for that I would suggest people to avoid the city at all. We were in Mexico for 3 weeks, 2 weeks in Mexico city and Guernavaca area and 1 week in Acapulco. No problems at all in Mexico City and Guernavaca.
The garbage all over is sickening. The street sewers were continually backing up and flowing down the street. Get off the main drag and the filth and garbage are sickening. How do the locals live like pigs?
The beaches are ok and the water is perfect temperature but the water is ruff with small but strong waves and a strong undercurrent. I am 5feet 8in and a solid 200lbs and the undertow knock me over several times after fighting the water for about 15 minutes i was done, exhausted lol.so if you want to spend your time in the ocean beach be careful and i hope you are a great swimmer. The hotel is located in a great spot you can walk to some restirants and the food is good. Have a great trip
I think acapulco gets a bad rap .I've been coming here for years it is a very safe City there is security everywhere you could walk around or take a city bus cheap anywhere .the value for your money is excellent the beaches are beautiful and just about every single Hotel you stay at is also beautiful with great pools. You could go to Acapulco for a month for the price you pay for a week or less to go somewhere else that wouldn't be as nice. Not to mention the food it's all fresh fruits vegetable and fish. I travel a lot but return to Acapulco every year. Nowhere has matched up
Acapulco was fantastic, the beaches are very nice, place needs more waste \ recycling bins and a general clean up, especially on the side streets. That is not to say the place is not clean. Food was excellent, people very friendly. As in all resorts people did try and sell you goods or services, but when you said no, they left you alone. Thank you Acapulco for making my vacation a memorable one 😊. There was a small restaurants just across the road from the hotel Costa Azul entrance and up just slightly, the food was to be fair delicious. Cliff diving was amazing was talking to a old Mexican guy call Pancho selling hats, at the entrance, what a polite interesting man.
It is old style hotel, but very well maintained. When I arrive, the guy in the reception was super nice and friendly, he helped me in every question and gave me better room, than I expected, with the sea view. Also all cleaners and security guards are very friendly people. I like also good food in the restaurant. There is even happy hour every day at 19-20.00, where you get 2 local drinks for the price of one. The location is very best!
Hotel was on the beach it was wonderful Had to change the room as the air conditioning didn't work and the hot water only came on at a certain time but the new room was excellent The swimming pools all around the hotel were good but too many kids So if you have kids its it would definatly suit you In saying that theres also a quiet pool for people with no kids which is very very good for people who dont want noise.
Where to start the hotel smelling the pool area are a bit dirty the stuff is great great customer service !!!and my kids ordered room service and got sick with their food other than that the location is OK it’s right next to a Gay Beach just FYI would I stay here again no not really I’m a mother of three girls and I just do not like the facility I stayed in a one bedroom lock off!!
Acapulco
Clean, modern and stylish rooms. Cool coloured mood lights in bedroom and bathroom, controlled on the nightstand. Plenty of plugs for your phone. Room service menu available. Very large (and for Mexico gigante) 50" LED interactive TV with bluetooth and WiFi connect to smartphone. Quiet neighborhood, excellent location near beaches, OXXO, street tacos nearby at night.
The breakfast was the best. The beach is nice but you have to be careful with the local vendors because they really mark up the prices on their services and products compared to other beaches. The rooms were very clean. The partial view of the ocean was also really nice.
This place is more for families that are just trying to get away and stay in the hotel. This place is not neat the beach but they do offer rides to it. If you’re the younger crowd trying to have fun like my friends and I were. This is not the place for you.
Acapulco
After the suffering of the 1st day, things went better. The bus to the beach was great you just need to wait it and can go to Princess Hotel beach. Connection to other hotels of Mundo Imperial is an advantage.
The weather, the beach and nice staff by the beach (the Sr Joel was very professional and kind). We loved the gym, that was a big plus! In fact, this was the main reason why we booked this hotel.
