I am honestly in awe of my experience! The rooms were so big, spacious. The service was absolutely excellent. What truly amazed me was how the staff handled everything during code Red; they made us feel so safe and kept us informed at all times. Their calm, reassuring presence made all the difference. I can’t recommend this place enough! I stayed here 12 night with my 2 daughters. I will definetly come back.

A really interesting town with physical challenges!

A really interesting town with physical challenges! The pluses: many interesting places to visit; wide choice of restaurants; art museums, cultural centers and expat driven events. Variety of accommodation and many different services available. Excellent bus service. The minuses: the cobblestone streets, uneven sidewalks and hills make for exhausting walks which is compounded by 5000 feet elevation. The main street is clogged with traffic.

The people are so friendly. there is so much to do, even for visitors from other countries, hiking, biking, kayaking, theatre, dance lessons, concerts, art shows, etc, etc. There are lots of places to eat and the plaza is always full of life.

Ajijic was named one of Mexico's "magic towns" by the mexican department of tourism ,and it lives up to its name in every regard. It is safe, accessible, totally walkable, and most of all quintessentially what you imagine when you think of Mexico. Just walking around and going into the multitude of shops (many of which have very exceptional art and jewelry) is a treat. Last, although it does not really serve Mexican fare, the restaurant "Rosemary", about 100' from Estrellita's, had absolutely great food - we ate there every night and were never disappointed

Ajijic was very nice, especially as it was the off-season.

Ajijic was very nice, especially as it was the off-season. I enjoyed the town. I would have liked it better if there were not so many expats. I wanted more of an opportunity for speaking Spanish, but I kept running into people who could not speak Spanish or did not want to speak Spanish. For Spanish, I had to take a bus to go to Chapala. I was later told that 70% of the population of Ajijic is expats and that Chapala was about 5% expats. (This was told to me by an expat couple and verified by others, including people who were non-English-speaking.) Ajijic was still very nice and I enjoyed walking around it. I just didn't get to speak as much Spanish as I would have liked.

Ajijic is a lovely town with very friendly people.

Ajijic is a lovely town with very friendly people. It is not your typical vacation spot and it's not touristy. I was there because I had read it was a great place to live if you were thinking of relocating. While I enjoyed the town and the delicious restaurants and the friendly people, if you have any physical limitations this is not the place for you. The roads are made of rocks, big ones down to little ones which means walking is treacherous. The sidewalks are too narrow for 2 people to walk side by side and they have their problems as well as they are not constructed to be level but dip at several places. Leave your heels at home ladies. Mosquitos are a problem because Ajijic is on Lake Chapala. Bring your bug spray. All said and done my husband, and I enjoyed our stay there. But I could not live there.

A personable family run hotel & restaurant with amazing attention to customer needs e.g. honoured my diet restrictions in food prep, 'real' lemongrass tea to my room every am in a French Press with a homemade cookie. Location very convenient to many local sites. Wish more businesses were run like Eric (owner) does with his operational oversight, staff relationships & customer focus, he truly is a leader par excellence! Muchas gracias Eric & Team, Monica

Super funky fun vibes and the most comfortable bed. I can't speak more highly of this place. If I come back to Ajijic I'll be booking this room far in advance. It was the perfect stay for me. Great shower and all of the amenity extras (towels, soaps, coffee, microwave, mini fridge).

Rooms are run down, pool is filthy, service is non-existent. The place looks like an abandoned hotel, they need to spend a fortune on the place to get it up to standard. There a few places like this nearby that have given up. This place will be next. The photos are BS
