I am honestly in awe of my experience! The rooms were so big, spacious. The service was absolutely excellent. What truly amazed me was how the staff handled everything during code Red; they made us feel so safe and kept us informed at all times. Their calm, reassuring presence made all the difference. I can’t recommend this place enough! I stayed here 12 night with my 2 daughters. I will definetly come back.

We stayed 5 nights but it was so sad the day we had to leave. I would have liked to have stayed longer. It was my second time at Ajijic. The first time I did not have a rental car. This time we had a rental car and got to drive through the quaint little towns and really view the area including two wonderful tours; The goat farm and the ruins from the Mexican Independence War. Always have transportation arranged from the airport either through your hotel or otherwise or you will be in a very long line standing waiting for a taxi ride to Ajijic or surrounding areas. Walmart is close to Ajijic for those things you forgot or liquids couldn't bring on the plane. Have a great time.

A really interesting town with physical challenges!

A really interesting town with physical challenges! The pluses: many interesting places to visit; wide choice of restaurants; art museums, cultural centers and expat driven events. Variety of accommodation and many different services available. Excellent bus service. The minuses: the cobblestone streets, uneven sidewalks and hills make for exhausting walks which is compounded by 5000 feet elevation. The main street is clogged with traffic.

The people are so friendly. there is so much to do, even for visitors from other countries, hiking, biking, kayaking, theatre, dance lessons, concerts, art shows, etc, etc. There are lots of places to eat and the plaza is always full of life.

Ajijic was named one of Mexico's "magic towns" by the mexican department of tourism ,and it lives up to its name in every regard. It is safe, accessible, totally walkable, and most of all quintessentially what you imagine when you think of Mexico. Just walking around and going into the multitude of shops (many of which have very exceptional art and jewelry) is a treat. Last, although it does not really serve Mexican fare, the restaurant "Rosemary", about 100' from Estrellita's, had absolutely great food - we ate there every night and were never disappointed

Ajijic was very nice, especially as it was the off-season.

Ajijic was very nice, especially as it was the off-season. I enjoyed the town. I would have liked it better if there were not so many expats. I wanted more of an opportunity for speaking Spanish, but I kept running into people who could not speak Spanish or did not want to speak Spanish. For Spanish, I had to take a bus to go to Chapala. I was later told that 70% of the population of Ajijic is expats and that Chapala was about 5% expats. (This was told to me by an expat couple and verified by others, including people who were non-English-speaking.) Ajijic was still very nice and I enjoyed walking around it. I just didn't get to speak as much Spanish as I would have liked.

The location is perfect to be in the middle of the hub-bub of the Village Plaza and very walkable to all attractive locations. The restaurant in the hotel is first class. Some of the best meals had there compare to excellent restaurants anywhere in the world. Family run and super friendly and helpful when in need of language assistance and finding taxis, and other assistance. Eric and crew are awesome Inn Keepers.

The views right on the lake are stupendous! There are two pools on the property overlooking the lake which are beautiful. The grounds are lovely, with mature trees and landscaping. There seemed to be plenty of parking, and the layout of the hotel and architecture allowed for an expansive feeling. The hotel is located in a nice residential neighborhood.

The breakfast was, I imagine, a typical Mexican breakfast. They were very helpful to get me something I could chew easily because I had dental work done. I liked the family atmosphere of the hotel. Just would have liked to have someone on staff speak English. It was a bit of a challenge.
