VERY car centric. The traffic is insane.
VERY car centric. The traffic is insane. This is a large sprawling city. It takes ages to get from A to B so plan accordingly. What can look like a short 4 km drive can easily take 30-40 minutes.
The old centre with the cathedral is worthwhile seeing. Mexican culture and history is interesting.
The American colonial area is popular and has modern amenities. Also lots of cars. U can to survive here without a car.

September in Puerta Vallarta was quiet, It is the rainy season and is very humid. If you are looking to party it may not be the best time of year to visit. We had a great time relaxing and during our visit we went on a turtle release tour which was very informative and quite fun.

Its a magical town of mexico.
Its a magical town of mexico. I love its weather and off course food. I think they have to renew their cabanas because its tourist place and some cabana are in very bad condition . It effects on tourists. But over all mazamitla is just amazing place to visit. I personally went there last week and almost every week i spend my vacations there bcz of its weather and calm ambience. Its basically relax me and take my stress out.

Loved Ajijic. Great restaurants and cafes, wonderful shops, very pedestrian friendly, beautiful town with art everywhere, charming, friendly, and plenty to do and a great plaza to hang out in. Great public transpiration options.

Beautiful small town.
Beautiful small town. Great place to learn about the history and production of tequila. We did the Sauza tour which was outstanding and much better than I ever expected. Did not make it to Jose Cuervo but apparently it is a great tour as well.

Just come prepared to relax and know that some days might be too humid or hot for what you had planned, so have an alternate plan. We enjoyed the pool and its slides, the tennis in the morning, walks on the golf course and the tours offered by the tour operator in the lobby. Saw lots of ibis, heron, a black hawk, osprey and more on the property. Of course, no visit would be complete without seeing the coatis.

Beautiful City with a small Pueblo feel. Everything was within a small walk or quick taxi ride. The ease of the Oxxo (Like 7-11) and its hours of operation left me never needing anything. The Cities Centro and it’s Mercadito was a true delight, filled with eating options and small stores selling everything from small knickknacks to fresh fruits and vegetables. The vendors around the mercadito gave it such a delightful surprise and it’s recommended for any travelers.

Yelapa is right out of Mexico of 40 years ago, except for the quads (Motos) that the locals use to get stuff to and from town. The motos are loud, but necessary for the folks who live there, and the
drivers are super polite (they even shut off their lights at night so as not to blind you). No highway in, no high-rises, no hustle and bustle. If you crave action, Puerto Vallarta is a 30 minute boat trip away. The internet is, as my telecommuting daughter pointed out, not really suitable for zoom, etc, but if you came here to carry on with your day gig, you are missing the boat man! The restaurants are first rate, with the various owners competing to give you a new twist on classic Mexican food. Try Los Abuelos for something new, or maybe Cabiñita (a locals fave) for some tacos that will rock your world. DidI mention the ceviche? My God, I'm drooling!!! You get it. Over and out...

Make sure you have an agenda, and get someone to drive you around, preferably the same person. We had Senor Ruben, the taxi driver, drove us to and from everywhere we visited, felt safe and comfortable with him, he showed us all the landmarks, and was pretty much our "tour guide" and was very convenience not having to call for an Uber every time. We just called him whenever we were ready. He even drove us to the airport when we left. I will keep his number if we decide to return to Guadalajara.

It was hurricane season and there was rain several days but mostly short periods. Beautiful sunny most mornings with rain chances in late afternoons. Most days very warm and beach and pool time every day, bring an umbrella going to dinner this time of year. Not to many tourists at this time. Rain will be ending soon so town will get busy.
