Breakfast is not available in the hotel. But lunch & dinner is excellent! The hotel has old world charm and my view of La Peña was beyond breathtaking. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was large, lovely and well-appointed.

Beautiful small town with the obvious things to do like hiking the Peña and visiting the town itself. However there are many fun activities to do there or near by for all types of travelers. From wine tasting, gastronomy lovers, adventure seekers or just your good ol’ fashions relaxed getaway!

Very nice town and location.

Very nice town and location. People being the downside of the trip, it may be that they got it easy with many people going there so they don’t have to be friendly nor serviceable. Or they are just tired of getting crap from tourists but this location is a long way from the level of service you see in many other places in México.

Nice little town.

Nice little town. However, our entire schedule was disrupted by non empathic police officers. There was a tricky no-parking sign on the other side of the street which applies for both sides. They removed our plates (along with 4 other tourist vehicles) for parking on a prohibited place and asked to go pay the ticket to another town (30 min driving). I arrived to the place in 30min and they said I had to wait for more than 90 minutes until the police officer bringing my plates, arrives at the place. Short story, they literally said “we are gonna help you by making an exception, and will attend you today (not until next Monday), but you have to wait several hours”. 4 hours later, I finally was able to get my plates and decided to leave the town so I won’t need to face again with those horrid “public servers”. As most police officers, they only want money without thinking that tourism is what holds this place economy. Won’t ever come back.

Bernal has become a very commercial town with generally poor service, but especially the terrible restaurants, which offer little variety. With a very limited service culture, I believe much more education is needed regarding the quality of tourist services.

It's a small town, but it offers several tourist routes, sells regional sweets and handicrafts, and rents ATVs and UTVs. The main attraction is climbing Peña de Bernal, and you absolutely must try the blue corn gorditas and their delicious esquites in various flavors.

Casa Morada is a gem of a hotel. Everything was more than perfect. Fer was ourstanding and very helpful. There is a shop with home made marmalades, chocolates and spices and you can taste them before you buy. The room was beautiful and the view fantastic, towards the monolith. The hotel is beautifully decorated. Everything was near, restaurants, plaza, church. This is an amazing place and we cannot wait to come back next time.
