We had a great experience from the start with Mario picking us up from the Chepe train station in Bahuichivo. We were taken to the ranch which he runs with his family and we felt straight at home. Location is 8km out of Ceracohui in the middle of nature. The cabanas were beautiful and very clean, the ranch was spacious with lots of cute animals, seating areas and a viewing deck looking out on the canyon. As it’s rather remote, you will eat at the ranch. The food is all home made and tasted amazing. Mario can help organise all kind of tours from horse riding to hiking and a visit to Urique (bottom of the canyon).

The staff was really friendly, helpful and nice. Hugo, the owner and his wife were there to attend the guests in a calm and serene way, making us feel very welcome. Their youngest daughter Ania, is adorable. We could feel that the hotel has been done with love and care. It is like a small museum, full of interesting objects, books and articles from different newspapers and magazines telling us the history of the region, the hotel, the owner, the local people, the flora and fauna, etc. It all felt very personal. The bar, the chimney, the courtyard with fruit trees, etc so very nice.. The location is perfect, in between Bahuichivo, where the train arrives and Cerocahui the small town. With plenty of trails for walking and exploring the beautiful landscape.
