MexicoLovely little hotel in the very heart of Cuetzalan. It is nicely done up in a designer way and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. We were contacted by WhatsApp before our arrival and asked if we needed any help with tours and sightseeing. As a result, we were able to plan everything in advance and made a great use of our time in Cuetzalan.

Cuetzalan is a charming town.
Cuetzalan is a charming town. Beautiful old town in the mountains on a hillside. Amazing weekend atmosphere with lots of local tourists. Great street food, some good restaurants. Hourly voladores performances on the weekends at one of the cathedrals. It is a trek to get there but worth the effort. It definitely lives up to the Pueblos Magicos title (not all towns do).
One restaurant you must try is TAOL. It should get a Michelin Star at some point, in our opinion. Unique dishes inspired by local ingredients and customs.
There are quite a few adventuresome activities that can be done (hikes, waterfalls, caves, zip lining, etc) and several companies that will take you there. The botanical garden is worth a visit.

The town is very picturesque, but it is NOT the most...
The town is very picturesque, but it is NOT the most beautiful village in Mexico, as many claim it is ...the restaurant scene is not great ..stick to simple standard dishes that everyone makes ...the hills and vertiginous streets are awfully wearing and tiresome ..local transport is lacking, I found myself taking taxis for very short distances ..got lost on dark streets at night, streets just end nowhere ...quite frightening if alone. poor lighting outside centro and cobblestone streets are ruinous to shoes (and CARS) the SUNDAY market day is very hectic, but great PHOTO ops! and I did see the Valodores which was great .... would not go back ...once was fine ...looks like a very hard place to live ...and it is isolated ..not very good tourism info locally maps and lit. lacking

Stayed for one night/day and regret it.
Stayed for one night/day and regret it. Wish I would have stayed a minimum of 3 days to take in more scenery, enjoy the purblo, food, and things to do. Posada Plazuela has a great restaurant with delicious dishes, generous servings and great prices! And a beautiful roof top terrace with beautiful views.

It is a very lovely accommodation, very clean at all times. The staff were always very friendly and helpful despite language difficulties. The hotel itself also offers tours, ours was very exciting and well organized.

This is a lovely small hotel. It is far from the center with a very steep hill. If that was stated I missed it. It would be good for people to know. It’s rustic but lively.
