I loved absolutely everything about this hote. The location is great, just some minutes from Puebla's Zocalo, the staff is very nice and helpful and always eager to please. The room was nice, the bed comfortable and the bathroom and amenities totally met my expectations. The building and its open courtyard are also very pretty, adding to the beautiful experience.

The room was very clean (including the air conditioning ducts, I checked), everything was new, It was quiet to sleep, It had a great view of the volcano and the breakfast was healthy and tasty. As a plus, the shopping mall where the hotel is located is beautiful, cheerful, has an ice skating rink and good shops and food. If you have a car, the location is also good for going to both Cholula and Puebla. The only thing they need to improve is that the restaurant space wasn't big enough to accommodate so many people, but I didn't have to wait too much. It's worth It, I recommend It!

The room is super spacious. Very clean, the bed is very comfortable. Aircon avaiable and works well. Close to the old city with 10min walk distance. The parking lot is secured, just beside the hotel with gate. Breakfast is good as well with scramble eggs.

Honestly, this is one of our favorite places to stay in all of Mexico. It's kind of a hidden gem as the front of the hotel doesn't look like much. The location, right on the edge of the old town, is convenient. Once inside, the character of the place and the rooms them self are such a joy to be in. The bespoke furnishings are of some of the highest quality I've seen; the mattress was very large and very comfortable; the rooms are spacious with nice tall ceilings. We stayed in a room near the pool, it was peaceful and lovely. We had an extra bonus from the desk manager after checkout. He noticed some challenge we were having with transportation and offered a ride (in a brand new Audi SUV) to the bus station. Very personal service, thank you.

As beautiful as the pictures. Central location but quiet due to rooms all facing courtyards.Upper level had cloister style corridors round courtyard with outdoor seating. Reception staff very nice with fair to good English and helpful and efficient. Impressed by the courtyard restaurant arena style roof that was closed during a rainstorm!

The hotel was clean, it had a great view of the city too. There was access to the gym facilities and the pool facilities. Great hand soap and lotion. I didn't try the shower gels because I had my own. There's a bus line very close by and the mall is attached. It's not too far from Angelópolis.

Beautiful Lots to see - dont miss the Amparo. Artisan market is so-so but Amparo store has a couple of really good things and there are other markets. We didnt have time but there are places outside the centre to see including Alcala Henares. The Mole is as good as they say. Taqueria La Oriental is the best place for the mole. La Capilla del Rosario is a must

Enjoyed all the coffee shops and variety of restaurants. Each little restaurant has its own charm. Everything is withing walking distance and the people are friendly. The tour to the water fall "Las Brisas" was incredible! fun, exiciting and a wonderful opportunity to be out in nature. Evening walks are pleasant I enjoyed every minute of our stay!

This is a little gem of a town we picked at the last minute...

This is a little gem of a town we picked at the last minute for the final leg of a 4-week driving tour of Veracruz state, flying in and out of Puebla. There was a lovely dance performance on Sunday night in the square and good food at Vittorio's there.

Highly recommend Cholula, the church Virgin de Los Remedios...

Highly recommend Cholula, the church Virgin de Los Remedios is spectacular and you must visit the regional museum with excellent information and displays. There are many great restaurants with a variety of cuisine including of course authentic regional food. You just walk around town and we never saw shady characters at all. The colonial architecture is classic and we found the people to be friendly and helpful. The climate for our visit in October was varied but generally nice.

Tehuacán is an old Mexican city, rich in history and charm. But the most interesting are the things around it, such as the archeological zone, the nature reserve, and the San Juan Raya dinosaur footprints paleontology area.

The town is very picturesque, but it is NOT the most...

The town is very picturesque, but it is NOT the most beautiful village in Mexico, as many claim it is ...the restaurant scene is not great ..stick to simple standard dishes that everyone makes ...the hills and vertiginous streets are awfully wearing and tiresome ..local transport is lacking, I found myself taking taxis for very short distances ..got lost on dark streets at night, streets just end nowhere ...quite frightening if alone. poor lighting outside centro and cobblestone streets are ruinous to shoes (and CARS) the SUNDAY market day is very hectic, but great PHOTO ops! and I did see the Valodores which was great .... would not go back ...once was fine ...looks like a very hard place to live ...and it is isolated ..not very good tourism info locally maps and lit. lacking

The historical center is lively, large and really a delight to walk around. Every street throws up a photo. Well priced shops and restaurants, plenty of very well-kept landmarks. Wasn't expecting to like this city - but I did. Will go back.

A very pleasant rustic community of the normal tourist route , a good long weekend location for hiking , town is compact but complete with a good offer of tourist activities , several interesting museums associated with local products and history. In general very clean .

Hotel Esmeralda is a little gem tucked away in Atlixco. We stayed for a family wedding but would happily have stayed for longer. There was a lovely clean, heated pool with relaxed seating and a very pleasant outdoor area for dinner and breakfast. The food was authentic Mexican and delicious and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. We would highly recommend a stay here.

We stayed 6 nights.

We stayed 6 nights. I think we could have easily done 4 nights. Worth checking out for sure. 2 sides to Cholula. San Pedro side, where we stayed & the San Andres side. We walked everywhere in town (5-7 miles a day) Perfect weather. We stayed in Feb. 2023. Lots of restaurants & small tiendas & 43 churches. Lots of shops. I'd recommend staying 4 nights and then staying in Puebla City too.
