We stayed two nights at Quinta Lolita, one at the beginning of our trip and one at the end. We had a great experience. Since we arrived a bit late, we had to let ourselves in. This was not a problem since everything had been communicated well in advance via the Booking messaging system. The room was ready for our arrival, and it was very comfortable, clean, close to amazing restaurants, and the meeting point of several tours. Coming from Mexico City I was a bit uncomfortable about the fact that we had to park the rental car on the street, next to the hotel, but La Paz is very different from Mexico City and it indeed safe to leave your car on the street, we saw a lot of big and expensive looking cars parked all around the city. We were also allowed to leave our luggage in storage since we checked out a bit late. Quinta Lolita has the best beds I've ever slept on. They were soft but firm at the same time, and they were what we needed after a long day. My only problem was that we could hear some noise coming from the street. For my husband, it was not a problem; he slept through it, but I had to go and find some earplugs. Fortunately, for our second night, we had booked a bigger room that was not next to the street, and that was perfect. We did not cook there, but they had all that you need to make yourself a nice meal. The staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The second time we stayed there, we arrived very early, intending to leave our luggage stored there, but the manager let us get into our room since it was ready. I find that very generous, and it was super helpful to freshen up after a 5-hour trip. Although I travelled with my partner, this place felt very safe for women who travel alone.

I left my backpack in the taxi as i arrived. It was night time. The staff was amazing. My spanish isn't great but they helped me get a cab back to the airport that night and again the next day. They were genuinely concerned for my wellbeing and helped me get my backpack badk. Way, way, way over and above their jobs to make sure I was taken care of.

The spaciousness of the house and the comfortable seating...

The spaciousness of the house and the comfortable seating were probably the two best things about the place. The house is approximately 20 minute drive into town so you definitely need a car as busses are very infrequent to this area. There are really no attractions or interesting places to see in El Centenario. There are a few nice local restaurants within walking distance of the house. The reason we booked this house which was not a convenient location was because it was advertised as “steps to the beach” however, it is not a beach you can swim at let alone really enjoy walking along. There is a thick, wide amount of sludge, seaweed and bird poop that created a horrible smell and it was definitely not a swimming beach. We felt we were mislead by the description. Photos of the beach are below. We were also advised one week before arriving that if we used up the water then we would have to pay to have it refilled. We were 3 adults staying for 10 days so we were very stressed out about conserving water, even boiling our water for dishes because to wait for the tap water to heat up would waste a lot of water. The house is designed to accommodate 4 people however there are only 2 outdoor seats and a tiny little table so having a meal outside was not an option. Driving onto the property posed a challenge every time as there was a 2” piece of rebar sticking out of the concrete so we had to be sure to avoid puncturing a tire each time we entered and exited the property. I would not recommend this property
