Casa Limonchelo Hotel B&B, Cantera 10 Hotel Boutique, and HOTEL & SPA MANSION SOLIS by HOTSSON got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Morelia.
We enjoyed the main street, the park, the street performers, the aqueduct, the magnificent architectural tours available. We also loved to listen and dance to our favorite band, Musico Vocal Horus, which plays five nights a week at Onix restaurant.
This was not our first visit to Morelia, but it was our first visit since Covid. It is a gracious city with beautiful architecture. Coincidentally it was a holiday weekend, so the historical center was abuzz with activity. This was our first stop on our way to other destinations, but it is certainly not out last visit to Morelia or Michoacan.
Morelia was one of the most interesting and lovely cities I’ve visited in Mexico. We loved the zoo, spent 5 hours there, and were blown away by the gardens and the giraffe encounter. We walked many miles through the historic center, enjoyed restaurants, street performers, the scenery, the double-decker bus tour, and touring and photographing the interiors and exteriors of the many historic churches and cathedrals. We found people friendly to us as Americans, and we felt safe and welcome. Thank you, Morelia, for sharing your beauty, warmth, and culture with a couple of happy Americans!
I booked a day and a half for Morelia. It was about half way on a longer trip I was making. I had always wanted to see its Cathedral, but didn't think there was much more. I couldn't have been more wrong! Within the first hour, I knew I'd have to go back! The Centro is amazing! The old Colonial buildings are still standing and modern life just exists within. My hotel left one wall uncovered...nothing like sleeping next to a wall from a city founded in the 1500s!! I spent the day touring 2 former convents, the childhood home of Morelos (for whom Morelia is named) and, of course the beautiful Cathedral. One highlight of many was watching the 'Old Man Dance' in the central plaza. I had seen the dance before in Santa Barbara, CA, but to see it where it originated was magical! I feasted on traditional mole, carnitas, corundas and uchepos and I attended a retelling of the Morelia legends. (Spoiler: Doña Fernanda is still wandering the streets at night looking for her lost daughter.) I saw a Nativity scene that filled an entire plaza and watched from my balcony as the entire town showed up for the lighting of their beloved Cathedral. All this and I barely ventured off the main street! I will definitely go back to this Pueblo Mágico!
We enjoyed our 3 days 2 nights in Morelia, We stayed at the Casa Grande and it was excellent. The location was perfect and staff very helpfull. Our room was very nice and everything worked perfectly. I highly recommend it.
This is a fantastic city. The traffic is terrible though especially if you have a car, but after a few days you learn how to navigate. It’s as good as Mexico City with 20 million less people. The parks and the fountains and the historic buildings are wonderful. After two bad uncomfortable nights at the first hotel I found a much better one at half the price called Romance city Hotel. Which is in a district called Romance. I visited in the end of October and arrived during the Morelia international film festival so the city was extra busy and crowded. I think I’ll come back some other time perhaps in February or March. Besides the city the surrounding countryside is delightful. Because of the altitude, 6000 to 8000 feet, there are a lot of pine forest and lakes and small villages. Also lots of small farming communities. Definitely worth renting a car and just driving around.
Location is good. No a/c just an extremely noisy fan only. If Breakfast included is your choice only limited selection of fruit choice depending on what they have and toasts. Ask for extra bottle of water and toilet paper. No bed side lamps or plug. Broken shower door handle. No soap or toiletteries. 1 broken wood sliding door to allow Window privacy and street noise reduction in bedroom. Both rooms, vertical blinds damaged. No elevators. I would pick another hotel should I return to Morelia.
Price is a little high to not include breakfast. That being said, it is a gorgeous hotel where you are made to feel at home. Beds are comfy, shower is great, and the pancakes are to die for. Wifi seems to depend on what room you have. Our last visit, it was fine; this visit, not so much. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Front desk is helpful with tours. Location is great. This hotel is home when we visit Morelia.
The location of the hotel sits in the heart of downtown morelia. Everything is walking distance and felt real safe. The hotel itself can use an upgrade, and the Staff can use a customer service experience training. No on one welcomed you and the two male receptionist were constantly kissing each other and being frisky. NOT PROFESSIONAL. I would stay there again buy it wouldn't ne my first choice.
When we entered our room (always same #) I commented to my companion we’re home again! This was our 4th visit. Even with COVID restrictions (hotel does employ all safeguards) Morelia a beautiful city. We’d just spent 4 nights in San Miguel Allende and finished our week off here 3 nights before returning home. Great staff and value plus good breakfast to start your day.
fabulous central location. lovely architecture and structure. very bc lean. nicely kept. restaurant really solid. facilities good. bed very comfortable. shower. simply fabulous hard to imagine a better location for the Centro Historico area
Charming little hotel with very friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay and will return. Quick, cheap bus ride to center. Breakfast was good. The price including breakfast is a deal!
Gorgeous boutique hotel very close to the main plaza. Beautiful and huge rooms. Very accessible. Super friendly staff. Daily coffee and sweet was a delight.
The location was nice you get to see the whole city of Morelia but it depends on the room you get and it’s next to the mall.
cute little hotel in the center of Morelia was great to discover the city and had a free complementary breakfast!
