Everything was great! The only challenge we had was finding the place. GPS takes you to the street behind. Be mindful that you will have to turn down the dirt road next to the police station to access the building.
No need to stay her for more than a couple nights thst way you get a full day to anything there is. There is horse back riding for kids and groups on the beach. Other than that there is just a board walk of shops and drinking. A good stop to stay at since there really aren’t hotels in puerto nuevo
The bedding and towels were dirty- no wash clothes available. Staff tried to steal $100 deposit from me. Tried to pretend as though they didn’t have it then started giving me excuses when I refused to leave. They didn’t offer to give me any of my money until I called booking.com to report the attempted theft.
I loved our stay at the Vista Hermosa Resort and Spa because of the security provided. There is a security guard stationed at the entrance and you are given a hotel pass to put in your car so they know it is one of their guests driving in and out of the property. They take their job seriously and do look out for their guests. There is a great concern for Americans about traveling to Rosarito but honestly, if you carry yourself humbly, are not flashy and respectful, and courteous and friendly to the locals you are fine. If you are going to conduct yourself like a belligerent drunk and think you are better than everybody then stay home. That's my best advice to you.
Great food, lovely people, fun shopping. Lots of nightlife. Stay in the tourist zone, and arrange transportation if you can. The only bad side is the officials that rip you off and scare you that you have to pay them off. This happened leaving Rosarito and getting lost trying to find the border. The police officer scared us, and we gave them all our cash so they could let us go. Next time, we will take a tour bus and avoid driving out here.
I have been coming to Rosarito for over 40 years, from my home in San Diego and have seen it go from a laid back sleepy beach town to a busy, over built extension of Tijuana. Yes, prices are lower than similar beach side places in the States but the obvious pollution, poverty, and ecological damage is distressing. Condo towers sprouting up all along the coast. It makes me feel bad for the small homeowners who were displaced. When we went to Puerto Nuevo for dinner, the lobsters were babies that should have been left to grow and breed. I suspect it won't be long before there are no more lobsters left. There doesn't appear to be any master plan and growth is haphazard. Plywood shacks next 20story towers. Traffic is terrible. It makes me feel sad and I don't know that I want to come back ever.
If you are looking for a secure Hotel this one has got it. You literally are given a wrist band per guest. You must wear the band at all times. Therefore you dont have anybody wondering around the hotel that are not guests. This also controls the amount of people taking over. The pools were not jammed packed like other places are because everyone takes in extra guests. And everything at this location was beautiful. just beautiful......!!!! I loved it
The apartment is big, well equipped and very comfortable. From the balcony you can see the Pacific and the private beach of the complex is a plus. The complex is very safe, friendly and quite which is good when you have two newborn babies with you. The owner was always responsive to our queries and always showed interest in owner wellbeing.
Rosarito
Location was okay, not a far walk to the beach. The hotel itself was clean. The outside oors locked to the hotel as well made me feel better. Considering my stay was during Baja Beach Fest, I can't complain too much. The prices for beachfront hotels are insane during this time.
Rooms were dirty dust gathered on the fan NO A/C and its hot and humid elevators kept braking we took mostly the stairs, Great location that's the only plus side but better motels for way cheaper across the street or hotel for a few bucks more
Nothing. This is a fraud. Is not even a hotel, is a motel, and they are selling rooms cheaper if you get there. They charge you over 750 pesos when the big sign outside the building says 750 pesos.
Overall, the space was great and the property amenities were above average for the area. The view was outstanding and the property didn't have that distinct Rosarito 'smell'!
The location is close to the beach and on the main road so it’s easy to access food and ATM etc. The 24h security also made us feel safe. And the gentleman who checked us in was lovely.
Rosarito
