Cabanas Tulum- Beach Hotel & Spa, Sueños Tulum, and Hotel Bardo - Adults Only got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Tulum.
Tulum is an interesting place we were there 8 days, it is good for relaxation and sun bathing, however without the use of taxis (because of the high prices and tourist scams) it becomes very hard to get around, see ruins, Cenotes and get to the beach. I would recommend using the compartivos to get around or cycling, or rent your own car. A good level of spanish is needed as alot of the time to find out if you are being ripped off, as you can get charged just for looking confused it seems. Less people however than playa del carmen and Cancún but I would still not go back myself.
Tulum is beautiful and the beaches are divine, but I now fully understand why many people who seek peace are hesitant to go to Tulum. It has become a party hub and accommodation is ridiculously expensive for what they offer. Paying more money does not necessarily mean better experience. Everywhere there is party and the noise just takes away from the peace. You barely see locals working especially in tiendas, most are monopolized by foreigners and prices are in dollars, which is quite sad to see.
Best beaches in the region, no sargassum, low season is the BEST - no crowds. Not so touristy like other Mexican vacation destinations (cancun, cabo, etc) Very quiet - relaxing vibe - bohemian - cool - younger crowd - hippe chic - easy to get around - fabulous food & restaurants. Best ocean, cenotes and lagoons in the region - so many things to see & do - one week is not enough time to see it all.
Tulum is beautiful, but a little spendy. The cab rides are outrageously expensive so if you can rent a car, I highly suggest it. The best places to shop are outside the popular tourist sites, of course!
I loved Tulum, I lived there for a year. Unfortunately this was my last trip to the beautiful Tulum I once loved. The beaches are no longer pubic, you cannot access a beach unless you are staying at one of the hotels on the beach. Another option is to pay for parking walk a kilometer and then pay again to access the beach.
Everyone who is working at the front desk is lovely, especially Carlos!!! He goes back and forth to make sure you have a fantastic time at Pocna. Free breakfast is included. They have a menu with 7 dishes. In the beginning we got excited about it but after a week we got bored of the choices. Would be nice if you could switch the menu after a week so guests are not getting tired of the choices. I got food poisoning from one of the restaurants. Not sure if it was the Poke from the Japanese restaurant or the chicken at Ramon’s. If you’re out for a beach walk after sunset and walk back to you room be careful walking through Ramon’s restaurant. It’s dark and they should add some lights. There’s a step near the bar which hurt my toe several times.
Perfect location in the Hotel Zone in Tulum. Staff were attentive and very helpful with special mention to Michel and Chef Diego. Hotel was on its own private beach which was cleaned every day (currently seaweed season). We saw turtles nesting on the beach which was a real treat to witness. Japanese restaurant in the hotel is incredible! Thoughtful evening treats provided in the room as well as free water bottle (Fiji water) refills.
Zama, Tulum
Teva Telum property was a beautiful oasis filled with the beauty and nature of Tulum. The chic decor including the outdoor patio with private pool was modern and fabulous. The location was good, a few minutes drive to Hotel Zone and Pueblo downtown. However I recommend renting a car or bike to move around because taxis are costly and it adds up. Having your own transportation also gives you flexibility to move at your own pace.
Tulum boutique hotels are all pretty expensive. We’ve been to three and this one is the most expensive - but also the best one. Very stylish, good food, calm atmosphere, attentive staff, clean. Room was comfortable with AC. Good internet. Many outrageously perfect Instagram opportunities. I was particularly impressed with the concierge that arranged last minute flowers and desert for my girlfriend’s birthday.
Very nice private beach, and because the hotel is a bit further from the beach clubs and hotel zone in Tulum, it was not affected by the Sargasso that spread on every beach in Tulum’s main touristic area. So that was a nice compensation for the horrible dirt road. The hotel crew is very nice and service in the common area is outstanding. The restaurant is also very pleasant and offers great food and snacks.
Tulum City Centre, Tulum
easy contactless check-in with clear instructions communicated beforehand - liked the decoration of my cozy room and the vibes of the place as such with a small pool in the patio - hotel is located in a quiet residential zone, but only a short walk / bike ride away from the hustle and bustle of Tulum downtown
Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and super nice hotel, location is very close to downtown, for the beach there will be a bike / scooter / car needed. Breakfast is fresh and good, served on a terrace. Probably the nicest hotel we have had so far in Mexico.
The little gem feels like an oasis on the outskirts of tulum. The pool is fabulous, the atmosphere inside the hotel is great. I was very pleased with my room, it was clean and cozy. Staff was super helpful and had great suggestions for us!
The hotel is on the quieter side of Tulum beach which is great for family. We got upgraded to presidential suite which is right on the beach. If was amazing! The staff is really friendly, and the food is really good too!
Beautiful hotel with the best service I had in Mexico. Beach club is great and food very tasty but pricy. I enjoyed a yoga classes which is for free for guests. This hotel has everything you need to chill and relax.
Tulum City Centre, Tulum
Very quiet location. Nice to have the possibility to go to the other hotel nearby. Amazing room, could live there! Pretty clean and good amenities. Nice to have bikes to get around Tulum. Nice small pools.
This is one of the best beachfront hotels in Tulum, I liked there a lot. Everything was incredible. Staff was super friendly. %100 feeling of Tulum vibes. Free parking, clean rooms, delicious breakfast and so on.
Absolutely stunning boutique hotel, v quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Walking distance to Tulum centro and the ADO bus station. Really helpful staff and easy communication via WhatsApp.
Good location in a quiet part of the Tulum hotel zone (not too far from the bars and parties either). Everything is clean. Great view over the jungle from the rooftop.
The property was located in a great spot within the hotel zone of Tulum beach. Staff was kind.
