Located in Tulum, 3.4 miles from Tulum Archeological Site, Hotel Bardo - Adults Only provides accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, an outdoor swimming pool and a bar. I really don’t know where to start. We were staying at Bardo while our honey moon. From the service to the amenities It’s the best hotel Iv’e ever been to. It’s so beautiful everything, it smells so good, the service and the vibe of the people there is just amazing. The design is exquisite! The food in the restaurant is great and there are few options for vegans. We had small issue during the check in (which wasn’t an issue at all for us) and they went above and beyond to please us. We had such a great time there that we cancelled the all inclusive resort in Cancun that we booked for the last days of our honeymoon and we are going back to Bardo.

GOOD Cute town Amazing dining scene Diverse Easy to navigate Lots of cute spots BAD Expensive A lot of constructions Hotel/Beach club zone extremely crowded at night (traffic was insane) Stay away from Tulum right now if the beach is your priority. CHECK SARGASSUM STATUS TIPS *Go to Laguna Kaan Luum for blue waters. That's the only swimmable place in the area. *Gran Cenote is worth it
Amazing!!! The beach was full of seaweed, but the downtown section is fabulous. Laid back and felt very safe. Fewer spots to party at, but once you find those it's an absolute blast. Che Hostel and Straw Hat Hostel were actually the best clubs (you don't have to stay there) and Social Pub Crawl Tulum is the BEST way to meet other travellers. Taxis will rip you off if you don't tell them what you're willing to pay first, and use the ADO bus to get up to Playa / Cancun / Airport. Overall it was AMAZING and I could've gone for a month.
The location, the decor, and the staff were amazing! They made our stay in Tulum wonderful! They had bicycles and scooters you could rent to explore Tulum. The concierge service was very knowledgeable of the local area and was able to get us reservations to some fantastic restaurants/night life venues! The rooftop bar has the best view you can get in Tulum! Thank you guys for an amazing time in Tulum! We will be back ☺️☺️ Gitano ARCA Parole Casa de Jaguar IT Were some of our favorite spots
We visited Tulum in 2007 and were aware that it had changed. In our opinion not for the better. It has certainly become much more developed - more accommodations, many more on the high end scale. Overall everything was more expensive which I expected but not quite to the extent it was. The majority of hotels, bars and restaurants are tastefully furnished and many boutique style options are available but it feels a lot less authentic than it once did. Personally I prefer quieter, charming places and whilst I still enjoyed my stay, I opted for a quieter end of town and 3 nights was enough.
Tulum is such beautiful and magical town! The beachside hotels and restaurants are really nice and there’s so many artistic elements of design woven into everything, giving off a very creative and natural vibe. Just know that the photos of places aren’t always portrayed accurately and everything is pretty expensive (almost same prices as tourist hotels in USA) considering its Mexico, and some of the hotels don’t have all the amenities that one would expect. Overall, though, we truly enjoyed our stay and it was so fun exploring the all local places in Tulum! We didn’t even see all the things we planned to, so we’ll have to go back for another visit in the future to see more! If you get a chance, check out Azulik museum, Ahau sculpture of big wicker guy with wild vines growing inside his chest, and local cenotes. So many cool things to see and do!
The big problem with Tulum is that is is facing crazy urban development, condo after condo destroying the beautiful tropical jungle. Additionally all the coast line is facing regularly algae bloom issues.
Nice spacious and clean rooms which are a decent price compared to many of the luxury hotels in Tulum (although the “beach view” rooms do not really have a view of the beach) Delicious food in the restaurant which is a very good price compared to most restaurants nearby. Excellent service from all the staff, particularly Jasmin in the restaurant who always had a smile on her face. And Alejandra and David in reception were always happy to help out with whatever you need. Ideal location right on the beach
from the moment we arrived at the hotel they took great care of us, giving us information about all the activities we could do. The hotel is not in the hotel zone but it has the most beautiful beach in Tulum and you can get to the hotel zone by bike during the day without problem, at night there are restaurants nearby if you want to eat in the hotel zone you can go by taxi. Yazmin always attended us with great kindness and gave us all the information we needed. It is definitely a hotel that I recommend.
We were lucky enough to stay in one of the domes, and our stay was wonderful! The room was beautifully decorated, with an amazing copper bath in the room looking out over the Tulum jungle. The view was perfect - we watched the stars at night through the glass roof and the sun rise in the morning. The location is great - right in the middle of the hotel zone and near lots of bars, restaurants, cafes and beach clubs. The food in the rooftop bar was also delicious, especially the ceviche and prawns!
Great location in the middle of the hotel zone In Tulum! There is a lot of great restaurants and clubs nearby! The hotel is very clean and a super cute boutique. Its on the jungle vs the beach side but you're only across the street from beach access. I honestly preferred that because it dampens the noise so you can sleep better at night! I would definitely stay here again! The staff is also so wonderful and was super helpful with recommendations all through out my stay!
A big mall 'Chedraui' is just on the other side of the road from the hotel's entrance about 5 minutes walk through it's parking lot so there we could buy anything we could think of. There are many bycicle rentals nearby with which we could visit the Tulum archaeological site and the beautiful white-sand beach. There's also a nice rooftop swimming pool with a cocktail bar for which we received coupons :)
The Hotel is very we located in the jungle between the beach and the city. The area is very quiet to relax but 10 minutes to the city and about 15 by bicycle to Tulum beach. It has a very nice pool and really good breakfast to start off the day. The garden is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful when we arrived without our luggage because it was lost at the airport. Thank you so much again!
Location and price were great. We went to Tulum to go diving and the hotel was one city block from the dive shop, so very convenient for our purposes. I had a few concerns that it would be a little noisy at night, since the hotel is located downtown, but that wasn't the case. Staff was very nice and the fact that we could rent scooters directly through the hotel, at comparable rates, was the cherry on top.
Tulum
The included breakfast was exceptional, we never tried the breakfast on the Menu. But everything else all the food and the drink menu tasted amazing. The views were spectacular, the location was at amazing part of Tulum. Security outside the hotel 24/7, and outside the hotel zone there's security 24/7 no one goes in after hours unless you are staying at one of the hotels.
Everything. Really large comfortable room with good bed, kitchenette and balcony. Beautiful designed space. Bikes to rent for a good price, perfect for getting to the beach and town. Breakfast was good. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and accomodating during the time of the coronavirus crisis, hugely thankful, would highly recommend, one of our nicest stays in Mexico.
The Hotel has many pools, is in the middle of a beautiful jungle, yet close enough to Tulum beach. The Staff was very attentive (Thank u Ignacio!) and always gave us great tips. The Hotel has its own Beach club (Vagalume) that one can enter without paying a minimum charge (like anywhere else in Tulum). We rented a Quad so it was easy to move around. Will definitely be coming back!
Everything was amazing! The hotel was so beautiful and peaceful and it was amazing to not be in Tulum and to have our private beach. The Spa was so relaxing and the restaurant food was amazing. Definitely recommend the Italian pasta and the all inclusive Breakfast was wonderful! We had a lovely guy who served us every morning call Marcel who made us laugh and was super friendly.
It is a very beautiful small hotel, close to the main avenue in downtown Tulum. They allowed us to leave our bags there before checking in so that we could go to Xel-Há. The room was very clean, it had an AC unit, no TV but for us wasn’t necessary. It has a shared kitchen you can use if you want to cook, we didn’t use it though. Would definitely recommend to stay there.
This hotel is excellent! One of my favourites and I travel a lot. Huge bathrooms, endless hot water. Super clean. Really comfortable beds and modern decor. Everything is perfect. The staff are the best, SO kind and SUPER helpful. They felt like friends. I will be staying here everything I visit Tulum. It was perfect :)
Amazing staff, so friendly, relaxed Tulum vibes, and with the right touch! The hotel itself feels fresh, good breakfast and lunch options. Plenty of beach beds and hammocks for lounging in the sun, whilst listening to the waves. If it wasn’t for the beach club next door it would be 10 out of 10
A good position in a quite area with nice restaurants nearby. Staff were very helpful. Free use of bicycles, although they were old and in poor condition. Complimentary access to their sister hotel on the main Tulum beach, which was very nice. Comfortable twin beds.
The hotel was a lovely place to spend time in, the food was amazing and the beach area was the best place in Tulum. also the sunset bar was gorgeous, I would recommend anyone to visit this bar whether they are guests or not.
The hotel at all is pretty good. Free parking available, the staff really helpful they give you recommendation. The pool nice and great environment. The hotel location is close to the Hotel Zone Tulum and Tulum City Centre.
I really enjoyed the hotel and where it’s located I really love tulum México was a wonderful experience and i wish to enjoy it again
The room and especially the bed are amazing (how you would picture your honeymoon room to look like). We had an incredible ocean view from the balcony. The staff was very friendly. We also received fresh coffee and cookies in the morning. All we needed to do is to send a short message to the reception. The food (the risotto) is also very good. You can also do yoga classes in the morning.
