Rip off for tourists!!! Everything is overpriced, everyone is just looking to rip you off. Went to a restaurant and they asked if I want water and they brought me Evian, I said don’t you have normal water?! ‘No’. This is Tulum. Rip off in the middle of the jungle. Roads are pretty bad, if you want to bike some areas are unlighted and unsafe. Beach was dirty and full of seaweed. I couldn’t take a bath in the sea once in 9 days. Horrible honeymoon destination, total dissapointment, never going back!!!
We liked the beach, the property we stayed in had a private beach that was constantly being cleaned. We did not enjoy the town center. The town felt disjointed and the roads are in shambles. If you're looking for quiet beach and mostly staying close to your hotel, Tulum would be great. We are usually in Playa del Carmen so, we were a little disappointed in how far apart all the restaurants were from the hotel. You will need transportation for everything you want to do and there are no street lights. Beautiful small town with some sketchiness thrown in for authenticity.
Me and my boyfriend had been to Tulum before. We love it. It was our first time at Gramercy and we could not have been happier . Great staff , super friendly and helpful and we loved our beach view room with the balcony . We can’t wait to come back and def recommend it 1000 % Johnni and Diego and the rest of the staff were wonderful . And whatever we needed …. We received right away .
Wrong time of season to appreciate beach. Black seaweed is everywhere this time of year (late July). Also, we stayed at the "Dune Boutique Hotel" which was just outside of the the "Party Zone". Seems that a couple of disrespectful beach club properties blast music to the FULL DISPLEASURE of all of the surrounding properties. Too bad they ruin it for those guests who dont want loud music at 2AM. Yup. It starts at 11am AND BLASTS until 2am. Surrounding property managers jointly signed a letter requesting the volume be lowered. After an apology was extended, the volume stayed stupid high. So so sad for such a beautiful area. We suggest boycotting Taboo Beach Club. Food? Heartwood trumps Arca in our view, but both excellent. Also stayed at Habitas. Pan for gold and spring for the beach front cabana. well worth it! Ask for Orlando. He crushes the service.
The food was off the charts, every restaurant was impressive even the little mom & pop joints. They take a lot of pride in presentation & the serving sizes are just right. They have great shopping for quality ceramics, woven hand-bags & rare stone jewelry. The cenotes are worth the experience and it has good night life. We didn't personally party but was available if that's what you're looking for! We rented a car but there were taxis available if needed. So easy to get around. Being able to understand or speak some Spanish helps.
Tulum Beach is nice ecstatically, you can comfortably rest here and it is nice once you stay in your beachfront but it is overinflated and overhyped. Remember you are never far away from commercialists only looking to get your money (incl police). In the hotels itself this is not a problem and people are nice there but the prices in my opinion are a bit over the top and you are much better of going to restaurants/bars in Tulum Pueblo than on the beach strip. Just take that into account. Don't come to Tulum if you are on a budget except if you are looking to do welness/spiritual activities which are more abundant here and excellent (yoga, temazcal, cacao ceremonies).
La Valise is an amazing place! It's a small, quite boutique hotel. The beach is amazing (at least it was when we were- no sea weed at all, but that's really something you can't control). The rooms are beautiful and the bed is amazing! The breakfast was really nice and the drinks were great. Above all- the staff was amazing! Both the waiters who serve food and drinks and the girls at the reception. Everybody were really nice and helpful with everything! Great place if you want to relax on the most amazing beach in Mexico!
It’s really not like staying at a hotel — a lovely room, nestled in the jungle. A lot of privacy. White sand paths to the beautiful beach. We were there in the second week of December and the beach was very quiet (just before high season starts). Easy walking distance to a lot of beautiful (ie. expensive) restaurants, but that’s the Tulum beach area. The shared bathroom/shower building was actually quite nice and was nicely designed and cared for.
Loved our stay at Bardo… I feel like we are well travelled and have stayed a some of the finest hotels around the world, and Hotel Bardo is one of our favorite boutique hotels. The whole atmosphere is calming and relaxing and is a paradise within the city. Their entire team was awesome and attentive, and the complimentary yoga (instructors are paid only by your tips) was fantastic - 2 of the best yoga sessions we’ve ever experienced.
Hotel was super clean, modern, Staff Ricardo gave the extra mile with us , Jesus was extraordinary too. The breakfast was super delicious and included in the room rate is a plus. This was our third hotel in Mexico and definitely the best. Room is super comfortable and beautiful. Town is super close with a lot of Restaurants and shopping. Everything was perfect. Don’t look anymore in Tulum
This hotel was perfect! About 10 min taxi drive from the hotel zone of Tulum. The food is amazing, the pool area was awesome. The cafe Antoinette outside the hotel was good. It is located around a lot of restaurants. It’s not loud and the staff is GREAT! They are all nice and helpful. The room is cute too! I have no complaints and I’ll be back for sure. Thank you for such a great stay
Nice boutique hotel. It is however quite far away from the beach, as quite some hotels in the village-part of Tulum are. There’s some nice restaurant in walking distance. The pool area was great, although I would strongly suggest management to install a pool bar for the ultimate experience. The stools are already in place, so should be easy enough!
Beautiful boutique hotel right on the beach that is located in the quiet area of Tulum. It is just a short walk to all the restaurants and beach clubs. Would definitely stay here again and is located in the perfect spot for couples vs party goers. Special thanks to Jonathan for going out of his way to help us with arranging activities.
Gorgeous property. Felt like a luxurious escape after having stayed in the crazy hotel zone. I left my last hotel not wanting to come back to Tulum but Coco Hacienda changed my mind. All of the staff was so kind and helpful. This is truly such an amazing place and feels so safe for a female solo traveler.
The staff was absolutely incredible. It was our first time in Tulum, and the staff was not only very helpful with the hotel, but also with getting around Tulum and information in general (Omar, thank you for everything.)
The location is great, it’s a very quiet part of tulum away from the loud beach parties. The landscaping of the hotel is quite nice — not as grand as the neighboring hotels but still beautiful. The beach is gorgeous.
Tulum City Centre, Tulum
The size of the apartment, they were gigantic and super nice, mix between a luxury condominium and a boutique hotel, and close to restaurants and bars to enjoy Tulum
I really enjoyed the hotel and where it’s located I really love tulum México was a wonderful experience and i wish to enjoy it again
Good hotel for Tulum, walking distance to main streets. Naturally, this is not beach zone. Very nice breakfast. Quiet.
location was great, the room was beautiful. probably the best hotel in tulum, luxury mixed with traditional vibe
Absolutely beautiful Boutique hotel. Strong attention to detail. Very friendly staff. A hidden gem in Tulum.
The location is perfect in Tulum hotel zone, the hotel and the room were very beautiful.
I love PPP for its concept and originality. Cabins, casitas, villas are built inside the jungle. Staying at one of them is one-of-the-kind experience. WiFi is surprisingly available all over the property, even at the beach front. I enjoyed many activities including hiking the walking path from one end to the other, and daily yoga, which is located right at the ocean front. My favorite PPP moment was eating breakfast in the early morning while watching the soft sunrise lights up the beach club area. The picture from this scenery is lovely.
One of the best resorts I have been to, the concept and execution of the resort was phenomenal. Very friendly staff, special thanks to Elsa and Abraham, they made our experience much better by helping us throughout the stay. We wish to visit again and will definitely recommend Azulik especially for couples and honeymooners. Food was delicious and the beach was clean and well maintained.
fabulously clean always by the maids! close to the beach and and all the fabulous restaurants/bars/boutiques and clubs!
It was different from most hotel. Pablo Escobar house with his stuf
