We liked the beach, the property we stayed in had a private beach that was constantly being cleaned. We did not enjoy the town center. The town felt disjointed and the roads are in shambles. If you're looking for quiet beach and mostly staying close to your hotel, Tulum would be great. We are usually in Playa del Carmen so, we were a little disappointed in how far apart all the restaurants were from the hotel. You will need transportation for everything you want to do and there are no street lights. Beautiful small town with some sketchiness thrown in for authenticity.
Me and my boyfriend had been to Tulum before. We love it. It was our first time at Gramercy and we could not have been happier . Great staff , super friendly and helpful and we loved our beach view room with the balcony . We can’t wait to come back and def recommend it 1000 % Johnni and Diego and the rest of the staff were wonderful . And whatever we needed …. We received right away .
Wrong time of season to appreciate beach. Black seaweed is everywhere this time of year (late July). Also, we stayed at the "Dune Boutique Hotel" which was just outside of the the "Party Zone". Seems that a couple of disrespectful beach club properties blast music to the FULL DISPLEASURE of all of the surrounding properties. Too bad they ruin it for those guests who dont want loud music at 2AM. Yup. It starts at 11am AND BLASTS until 2am. Surrounding property managers jointly signed a letter requesting the volume be lowered. After an apology was extended, the volume stayed stupid high. So so sad for such a beautiful area. We suggest boycotting Taboo Beach Club. Food? Heartwood trumps Arca in our view, but both excellent. Also stayed at Habitas. Pan for gold and spring for the beach front cabana. well worth it! Ask for Orlando. He crushes the service.
The food was off the charts, every restaurant was impressive even the little mom & pop joints. They take a lot of pride in presentation & the serving sizes are just right. They have great shopping for quality ceramics, woven hand-bags & rare stone jewelry. The cenotes are worth the experience and it has good night life. We didn't personally party but was available if that's what you're looking for! We rented a car but there were taxis available if needed. So easy to get around. Being able to understand or speak some Spanish helps.
Tulum Beach is nice ecstatically, you can comfortably rest here and it is nice once you stay in your beachfront but it is overinflated and overhyped. Remember you are never far away from commercialists only looking to get your money (incl police). In the hotels itself this is not a problem and people are nice there but the prices in my opinion are a bit over the top and you are much better of going to restaurants/bars in Tulum Pueblo than on the beach strip. Just take that into account. Don't come to Tulum if you are on a budget except if you are looking to do welness/spiritual activities which are more abundant here and excellent (yoga, temazcal, cacao ceremonies).
What I liked the most about the Copal was the great staff and the exceptional service. Also the restaurant had amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner! The location was not too far from the beach but also far enough to get away from the crowd on occasion. Perfect place for friends trips!
Hotel was in a really good location, looked really nice and cosy. I loved the outdoor area outside my room. It was my perfect place to relax and it even had a phone charger close by. I had the biggest bed I've ever seen, could probably fit 5 people in one and the room was really big too. The hotel has a small pool as well. I really appreciated the fact that someone was at the reception at any hour and they could call a taxi very quickly (which is very important for the area and for Tulum in general).
Tulum City Centre, Tulum
Good location in Tulum town, yet away from the noise.... Car rentals and supermarket was a 5min walk. Loved our room - spacious n clean. Nice common areas too, very boutique, simple and lovely design. Decent pool, garden and balcony. We reached the hotel at 1am and managed to check in without any trouble. Very friendly staff. (Thanks again). Convenient car park. Would definately stay here if i visit Tulum again. (And for us, staying in Town was way better than staying on the Beach Road)
The location is great. The beach isn't the best compared to the hotels or resorts a little further South, if you're staying in Tulum, or even the ones a bit further North, since Azulik is on the rocks and the beach is small, and the water pretty brown, but location is still pretty good. We had a room with a big balcony right on the water with a swing bed and a small plunge tub (not a pool), which was lovely.
I absolutely loved this hotel! the staff are wonderful and so helpful - they will happily book taxis for you to get to the beach/hotel zone. it’s clean and quiet, in a location that’s slightly off the beaten track which I loved! you can still walk or bike (or taxi) to the centre of Tulum or the beach as well though. the pool was quiet and never packed and the rooms were simple but lovely. would highly recommend!
The Hotel is very we located in the jungle between the beach and the city. The area is very quiet to relax but 10 minutes to the city and about 15 by bicycle to Tulum beach. It has a very nice pool and really good breakfast to start off the day. The garden is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful when we arrived without our luggage because it was lost at the airport. Thank you so much again!
This place is exceptional. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are beautiful, and the location is perfect if you want to be just a bit outside of Tulum while still having easy access to downtown and the hotel zone. The restaurant has very good food, which the staff will bring to you on the beach - all fresh and local. The views from our balcony were just perfect - we did not want to leave!
I liked everything. I have stayed in Mexico for 3 weeks (also 2 other hotels in Tulum) and this was without a doubt the best experience with the hotel I ever had. I so so so recommended this place. I need to mention also the reception stuff who is 10 out of 10 in hospitality and making you feel welcome. btw I recommend the room with netting and view over the jungel🤩 something to wake up to☀️
Tulum
The included breakfast was exceptional, we never tried the breakfast on the Menu. But everything else all the food and the drink menu tasted amazing. The views were spectacular, the location was at amazing part of Tulum. Security outside the hotel 24/7, and outside the hotel zone there's security 24/7 no one goes in after hours unless you are staying at one of the hotels.
The Xsape Tulum was by far the best hotel we made in Mexico. The hotel and the room are lovely, this is a peaceful place with a clean pool and well maintained gardens. We asked for a quiet room and they reached our expectations. I loved the bathroom with view on the nature. The staff is discreet and answer to all your questions when necessary. I would recommend this place to anyone.
The bed was so comfy. The vibes? Immaculate. The staff were so attentive, so friendly. The roof bar was amazing, and there’s two pools! Rental bikes available at the hotel and it’s a lovely ride down to the beach. Also within walking distance to Tulum town. Lots of great restaurants around.
Exceptional Bungalow Hotel directly at the beach in a good location and still quiet at night compared to other places in Tulum. Felt save and welcomed. Staff was super friendly, especially Yazmin and Chris where awesome regarding any questions and advise.
The hotel was a lovely place to spend time in, the food was amazing and the beach area was the best place in Tulum. also the sunset bar was gorgeous, I would recommend anyone to visit this bar whether they are guests or not.
Great location in the heart of Tulum. Beautiful small boutique hotel. Great service and Beach area is not too big and really well done as well
Such a wonderful little hotel, and the staff are amazing. If you're looking for a peaceful Tulum holiday, Posada Lamar is the spot.
Nice hotel with amazing staff. Good size of the room, very well decorated. Close to Tulum beach (15 mins drive).
We stayed in a bungalow suite (Tatich) with private bathroom and ocean view - the room was beautiful, rustic and spacious, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was very clean. The staff were all wonderful - very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The on-site restaurant, Casa Maria, serves great food - we ate there most days/nights. unique location, beautiful beach, very kind and supporting staff, best drinks, especially the private beach is amazing, will definitely come back!
The rooms were fantastic. So comfortable, clean and beautiful. The staff was really great too. Christian was so helpful to us the entire stay!
