The city, like the whole Jukatan is a big money making machine. Dirty and overpriced. Mexicans are very insistent and pushy if they see $$$ - especially if You are trying to park Your car near some attractions. What You see on the pics in google is not exactly what You will see after You arrive there. Big dissapoitment. We were not lucky during our stay- all beaches in Jukatan covered with thick layer of sargassum. Terrible smell everywhere. Locals were trying to clean it but they were not able to do so. If You are from Europe and do not mind travel 11 hours - travel to Asia. People speak enghlish there, beautifull beaches and 2 times cheaper.
Tulum is a lovely town with beautiful beaches, friendly people and great food. The only thing to be aware of is the massive amount of seaweed on the beaches. Apparently, it's a problem that's gotten worse over the years, so if you're big into beach swimming it might not be the place for you. If you just want the view, peaceful vibe and excellent view - highly recommend!
Nice but too expensive, crazy expensive for Mexico. Be prepared to spend too much money on basic things. Shops are so expensive it’s better to shop at Prada or Channel for that price. Too noisy if you stay next to restaurants, almost all of them have the misic extra loud.
We enjoyed Tulum, for its variety of "scenes" and activities for a family, spanning grandparents and small kids. We stayed in town, went to the beach one day, got a day-pass at a resort another day, did a tour of the biosphere, and went to cenotes for 2 afternoons. We rented a car, which made getting around easy. All in all, a good vacation.
There’s police everywhere, closing off the beaches at 5pm, and all the restaurants on the beach close at 6pm. You can’t get to any of the sights without having to pay an enormous amount of money to get in! On top of that it’s difficult to get around as everything is ery scattered around.
Absolutely loved the energy of Tulum. It is focused on wellness, bohemian luxury, spirituality, nature, and electronic music - a perfect combination in my opinion. The most unique experiences and hotels are located here, really embracing holistic health and being in tune with nature. I definitely recommend going to Azulik for the sunset (most unique and impressive architecture I've ever seen), and going to Ilios (Greek restaurant) for dinner. Cabs are quite expensive in Tulum, so I recommend staying in a central location and walking, or biking.
Apart from the fact that the hotel is absolutely beautiful - nested in the jungle - the energy here is the most loving, open-hearted, conscious that you can find in Tulum. The range of activities they offer - including concerts and sessions by some top-notch artists - is unparalleled! And what I like especially is that it is AUTHENTIC (unlike many other places at the beach, which want themselves « conscious » and deep, but are overpriced and superficial - Nomade, Habitat, etc). People flocking here are genuine, authentic, loving.
The hotel is nice and cozy. It's located in the new area of Tulum, which is under development right now, so there is not much to do/see, but you can easily get to the center. The hotel offers breakfast included in the rate with several options to select, like an omelet, pancakes, or granola with yogurt, coffee or juice. There is a nice rooftop with a bar and jungle view and also the spa room for massage. The staff is very nice too. It was quite during my stay there, so I could get a good sleep.
This is a hidden gem in Tulum Playa Hotel Zone. A distance from the main strip of the hotel zone, it is close enough for beach visit and great bars like BeTulum or Dos Ciebas, bike ride away from all food, or just out front at LOCO restaurant. I felt like family here, and I will be visiting not only Tulum when I come back, but my new Casa Coyote and Loco familia. Thank you Dante, Patricia, Vicki, Ivan, Emanuel, and the entire staff. I have never felt so welcomed ! 15/10.
Location is really nice, in front of the ocean, with a nice beach and not too many people on it or too many others hostels in the neighborhood. The hostel is relaly closed to the Tulum ruins, we could go there on foot with kids. We can also see the ruins from the hotel's beach Nice staff / park staff help to park the car and to keep the car place (lot of people during the day) Restaurant & breakfast nice. nice view on beach from the restaurant
Tulum
The best place ever at Tulum. The service is excellent. The staff are very friendly and humble, unlike many other fancy hotels at the hotel zone of Cancun. They always do their best to give you the best experience. The free breakfast buffet is awesome, too many items. The hot pool is too great. You will have the whole kitchen in your room too which surprised me most. You have ceramic plates, forks, knifes, spoons, egg beaters, glasses, mugs and so on!
Tulum
Absolutely best place we stayed at in Mexico. We had a seaview cabin and enjoyed the great view. The staff is super friendly, different from other places in Tulum. You can enjoy the sunbeds, bring your own drinks and food. We were afraid of the possible noise from the next door beachclub, but that was not loud and stopped at 8 PM so no noise at night. There’s only a fan no AC but with the sea breeze we did not experience this as an issue.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The room was amazing, the staff very helpful and friendly. We were offered a room upgrade and stayed in a beautiful room at the beach. Just amazing views and easy access to the beautiful maya ruins. We highly recommend to stay at this unique hotel in Tulum. The staff takes pride in the turtle nesting at the beach and protects the nesting sites with small fences. Keep up the good work :)
It was perfect for what I needed. Peaceful, quiet, just a little bit of music on the beach. beautiful space. loved the outdoor shower. massages on site. restaurant on site for daytime. In the evening I went to the Italian restaurant right in front of the hotel. My cat was happy. The staff was careful with my cat. The restaurant is a bit pricey compared to the hotel but it’s Tulum price I guess.
This was an affordable and nice little hotel close to shopping and restaurants in the town of Tulum. The courtyard with pool was cool, shady, and clean. The bike rentals were convenient, had a great time biking to ruins and a cenote. Hot showers, AC, and the staff were very nice. A very good value for a Tulum visit.
The hotel is located at the very end of the hotel zone, which gives it some privacy from hundreds of loud bars in Tulum. There is a great Cenote at the hotel that you may soak in on a hot day. The room though has nothing much to offer for a comfortable stay if you are used to climate controlled environments.
The design of the hotel was beautiful, staff were very friendly, and we loved renting the bikes to explore Tulum. Our shower had hot water! Also WiFi worked just fine! They seem to have worked out many of the kinks previous reviewers complained about. We did not have a problem with noise at all.
The staff and the food are amazing. Jorge is always there to help or up for a chat and the food was the best we had in all Mexico – honestly! The beach is sensational and by far the most beautiful in Tulum we've seen from all the hotels – quiet and clean.
The property was very calm and had the great perk of having free entrance to all the facilities (including beach) of Maria Del Mar (a hotel on the beach side of the zone hotelera in Tulum). Private parking is available.
Very modern clean hotel, access to a great gym and rooftop pool. Overall loved the aesthetic! Walking distance from Tulum Centre which is great but need to get a taxi to the beachfront which was around $30-40 one way!
