These hotels in Tulum are highly rated by couples: La Valise Tulum, Casa Altamar, and Hotel Bardo - Adults Only.
What I liked the most about the Copal was the great staff and the exceptional service. Also the restaurant had amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner! The location was not too far from the beach but also far enough to get away from the crowd on occasion. Perfect place for friends trips!
Tulum is a charming town that is definitely up and coming. Many new buildings are going up some of them will be high priced. I like the cenotes- got to swim in one and water was cool and refreshing. Highly recommend especially since the 2 beaches I went to had too much seaweeds from the recent hurricane. Travelling around town was good, I used the public mini-bi=us to get to the Mayan Ruins and was only 205 pesos each way from the hotel. Walking on the main strip was nice - lots of restaurants with different fare and not too expensive and lots to see and buy.
Tulum is the city under construction, rich and very very poor people on the other side, which serve to the rich. Construction workers can be seen how they live in poverty and almost outside in houses without walls. Her you can see a good example of capitalism and difference beetwen rich and poor, it was not a good experience, we did not like it. The nature is nice, but here you can not see much of it.
During my stay it rained a lot and there were lots of sargaço on the beaches, so I could'nt see the blue waters and this part I could'nt enjoy. Visiting the ruins and the Cenotes were a great experience, it was worth the trip.
Our stay at Hotelito Azul - Tulum started so well but we were robbed in our hotel room along with other guests. After reporting the theft to the police and making all the necessary arrangements, the hotel acknowledged the theft via a member of their cleaning staff. The general manager then promised to reimburse us as soon as possible (in a letter) and now refuses to reply. No further reaction from them, no compensation and a completely wasted holiday!
Tulum is a lot of things: a town that feels like a larger city. Lots of ancient ruins, cenotes, nature, small resorts and beaches. Just as many shops, bars, nightclubs and large resorts. Something for everyone. Just do your research and decide what you want before you book / go.
Came to Mexico with my fiancé to explore Tulum and was glad this hotel is a little more private and 15 minute drive from the busy strip in Tulum. This hotel is gorgeous, workers are always there to help you. We got the beach front suite with plunge pool which was beautiful. The food at the restaurant was amazing. Israel the front desk manager was also very accommodating and gave us some tips on where to go and check out. The facilities are always clean. We wished we could’ve stayed longer!
This is a hidden gem in Tulum Playa Hotel Zone. A distance from the main strip of the hotel zone, it is close enough for beach visit and great bars like BeTulum or Dos Ciebas, bike ride away from all food, or just out front at LOCO restaurant. I felt like family here, and I will be visiting not only Tulum when I come back, but my new Casa Coyote and Loco familia. Thank you Dante, Patricia, Vicki, Ivan, Emanuel, and the entire staff. I have never felt so welcomed ! 15/10.
It’s really not like staying at a hotel — a lovely room, nestled in the jungle. A lot of privacy. White sand paths to the beautiful beach. We were there in the second week of December and the beach was very quiet (just before high season starts). Easy walking distance to a lot of beautiful (ie. expensive) restaurants, but that’s the Tulum beach area. The shared bathroom/shower building was actually quite nice and was nicely designed and cared for.
We really liked the hotel. We'd been uncertain about it online, but the location was gorgeous, especially if like us you really want to be at the quieter end of Tulum, the staff really friendly, the restaurant/cafe on the beach really cute and well decorated, food terrific. We didn't miss a pool at all. Room simple but really big and comfortable, had what you needed. Not fancy but tasteful, very comfortable and lovely mellow vibe.
Tulum
The property is more or less 20km away from the center or Tulum, but if you have a car, you can easily find your way downtown. In the middle of the woods, it is the perfect place to stay if you want to rest. A small boutique hotel with everything you need for a couple amazing days in Tulum. The host, Laura, is the best!! She will take care of you as if you are family, and will give the best advices. An amazing person with a BIG heart.
this property is amazing. I strongly suggest you stay here specially if you’re a solo traveler. it’s downtown Tulum. Next to all the shopping centers and great restaurants. The staff both morning and night crew was super nice. My room was super clean. They were very helpful with directions. Gave me great advice about the bus and how to get to the beach on the bike. this hotel is located about a 20 minute bike ride to the beach.
The location is great. The beach isn't the best compared to the hotels or resorts a little further South, if you're staying in Tulum, or even the ones a bit further North, since Azulik is on the rocks and the beach is small, and the water pretty brown, but location is still pretty good. We had a room with a big balcony right on the water with a swing bed and a small plunge tub (not a pool), which was lovely.
The Xsape Tulum was by far the best hotel we made in Mexico. The hotel and the room are lovely, this is a peaceful place with a clean pool and well maintained gardens. We asked for a quiet room and they reached our expectations. I loved the bathroom with view on the nature. The staff is discreet and answer to all your questions when necessary. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Everything. Really large comfortable room with good bed, kitchenette and balcony. Beautiful designed space. Bikes to rent for a good price, perfect for getting to the beach and town. Breakfast was good. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and accomodating during the time of the coronavirus crisis, hugely thankful, would highly recommend, one of our nicest stays in Mexico.
This is a gem! The staff is soo friendly and professional and always ready to help! They made our stay even more enjoyable as it was! We loved the pool and the garden, where we spent a lot of time chilling and enjoying the sun. Also the hotel is very good located, 15-20 mins away from the beaches of Tulum by bike.
Tulum
I really hate writing reviews but..... this is worth it. I travel all over the world in search for beautiful boutique hotels! I highly recommend staying here, and do your self a favor and just stay here. Absolutely the best part of Tulum, and when you book somewhere else you will remember I told you so! 🎤drop
The Zama area is a new development, by taxi it’s about 5 minutes to Tulum Pueblo and 10 minutes to the beach. So the hotel is in a very relaxed area with small restaurants and shops. The staff is super helpful and friendly.
very nicely located Boutique hotel in an already calmer area of Tulum. stylish Beach Club; enough Beach beds for everyone. beautiful sea. delicious food. Hotel is perfectly merged into nature.
Everything was absolutely amazing and the personal touch of hotel owner ( helpfulness, advices, information about Tulum and Mexico itself etc.) was beyond expectations! Thank you Rafa!!!
Tulum
The room was perfect, if I want to go back again in Tulum, this is the best place to go in the hotel zone, the bathroom, the view to the jungle, the beds! Everything was perfect!
Good hotel for Tulum, walking distance to main streets. Naturally, this is not beach zone. Very nice breakfast. Quiet.
