We were on a 2 month trip so we wanted to try different places Diamante K was better than expected We stayed in a tree top bungalow the room was a bit small but comfortable! The grounds very well kept and staff was excellent ! If you are a drinker like I am it can get pricey altho luscious We we’re warned ahead of time and did pack a bottle Back to the grounds can’t say enough An excellent vibe I would recommend this place 100% And there are ruins within walking distance 👍
I originally book 6 nights in tulum but it was too much. The busy days are Thursday - Sunday. I ate at a combination of cafes and food trucks. Mainly tacos. I walked to one of the Cenotes it was 50 mins. I left one night early and headed to Playa Del Carmen for one night before heading back to Cancun airport. A lot of people went to Bacalar but I wasn't able to as it was 3 hours up north.
The city is far from the beach and has little to offer. The beach is walled by private clubs, so you have to pay to get in. To get to the beach you need a super expensive taxi (Amsterdam prices), or a colectivo, which is crowded and unreliable.
The party nights are amazing and I would highly recommend them but you’ll pay double New York prices for third world services. It’s a certainty that l you will be scammed multiple times. The excuse is that it’s called ‘bartering culture’, a polite way of saying attempted theft.
An amazing place - best to stay near or on the beach Book rooms last minute rather than weeks in advance There’s 1000s of places available and they’re at least 1/4 the price close to the date you want If you stay in town you need a scooter, taxis are a rip off Bring $US or your usual currency as ATMs are an absolute nightmare They run out of money every single day ATMs on the beach charge you 15% on top of bank charges Everything is European/USA prices - Everything!!! Food, drinks, music and hotels are top quality, everything else is actually a rip off and not great quality at all!
The whole peninsula is a party zone for tourists. All show, at all US prices (very expensive). Everyone wants your money and it would seem that Noctur-- night club actively steals anything you leave unattended, as if stealing from tourists was a sport. Still great for dancing (EDM) and high quality activities to those who can afford it, and supposedly good tours to nature (not much luck going anywhere by your own).
We were lucky enough to stay in one of the domes, and our stay was wonderful! The room was beautifully decorated, with an amazing copper bath in the room looking out over the Tulum jungle. The view was perfect - we watched the stars at night through the glass roof and the sun rise in the morning. The location is great - right in the middle of the hotel zone and near lots of bars, restaurants, cafes and beach clubs. The food in the rooftop bar was also delicious, especially the ceviche and prawns!
the hotel and room were nicely presented and comfortable. the staff were super friendly and helpful (especially kari!). the location was great too - right in town and close to ADO bus station. we hired bicycles from the hotel and cycled to the beaches & tulum ruins. we didnt use the rooftop but we went up there once at night… but it would be very nice if you want relax or sunbathe! it was all perfect, we were very happy with our stay here for 3 nights. highly recommend! :)
Casa Altamar is a wonderful place. If you’re looking for a clean and beautiful hotel outside of the hustle and bustle of Tulum, this is the place for you. The staff is incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly and the view is absolutely breathtaking. The food is very good. The road to the hotel is a bit bumpy at times but otherwise everything is perfect - cannot recommend this place enough. Hopefully we’ll be back soon :)
Very beautiful hotel - a lot of plants and vines form the courtyard, creating an oasis-like feeling. Modern rooms, very good bathroom facilities, especially for Mexico. Tasty breakfast with plenty of fruit. Location is good if you have a car - much better to stay in Tulum proper rather than the beachfront hotel area which has a horrible road leading up to it. Walking distance to downtown bars.
First and foremost, the staff was absolutely amazing. They were able to assist us with any questions we had and were so lovely and friendly while doing so. The property is quiet compared to other hotels on the beach strip of Tulum, something my husband I prefer, but still in the middle of all there is to do in Tulum. We really couldn’t have hoped for a better vacation and location!
This hotel is definitely going for the rustic beach posada style. The room was fairly clean and beds were fairly comfortable. The location is okay as well, right on Punta Piedra beach which has public access. But It is in the beginning of Tulum's hotel zone which about 25-30 minutes walk from Tulum's prime beach area.
Gorgeous property. Felt like a luxurious escape after having stayed in the crazy hotel zone. I left my last hotel not wanting to come back to Tulum but Coco Hacienda changed my mind. All of the staff was so kind and helpful. This is truly such an amazing place and feels so safe for a female solo traveler.
Glamping at its finest. I found Tulum as a whole to be over crowded and overrated. Staying at Habitas was the best part of my trip - the hotel facilities, restaurant and staff are absolutely incredible. It made the whole trip for me - I didn’t want to leave.
Very nice and very quite hotel in the archeological zone of tulum. Romantic and pleasant. our jungle view room had a decent ocean view and it was amazing. Tea in the room at turn off was great. Service was also great. Very nice experience overall.
FANTASTIC location, you couldn't ask for a better area to stay in. Staff was so kind and friendly, made you feel at home. Room was always so clean and honestly one of the best beds I've stayed in - better than 5 star hotels.
Tulum City Centre, Tulum
Convenient location if you had a car (as we did) as it was easy to get to all the local attractions without having to pass along the slow road where all the coastal hotels in Tulum are situated. The room was also a good size.
Beautiful hotel and rooms. great location on Tulum beach, close to bars and restaurants. nice hotel for couples looking for a relaxing stay.
