Hotel in Taxco de Alarcón
Just 1 block from Parroquia de Santa Prisca Church, this colonial-style hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a rooftop terrace offering city views. It also has a spa and a jewelry shop. Beautiful historic hotel with an entrance right off the zocalo. Many great view options: from the room and from various terraces around the hotel. Magda at reception (I hope I got her name right) was very helpful and kind. One of several examples: I broke my glasses immediately before arrival and was having difficulty checking in. Her mother was in the building and walked us to the busy mercado and showed us the optical store. We were able to store our bags before and after check in (we arrived by bus from CDMX). The Hacienda restaurant was excellent. There is also a very good coffee shop right next door.

With a spa and an outdoor swimming pool with mountain views, Hotel Montetaxco in Taxco features Mexican-style architecture and panoramic views. The view was amazing. The grounds were beautiful and felt like old Europe. a bit like a fairy tale on top of the mountain. The room was spacious and the patio area was nice for smoking and watching the stars. The little bottle of wine was a nice touch in the mountain view suite. Very romantic and lovely. The staff was great too. I was a bit lonely by the pool at one point and the waiter brought me a pretty plate with a rose surrounded by chocolate and berries. ..made a lady feel special

Beautiful tourist town. All the businesses of the town were accommodating to non-Spanish speakers, and many shop employees spoke at least a little English. There were many people in the town square who wanted to "guide" us to various things with the expectation that we would tip them, but we were able to say "no" without reprisal. Many soldiers and Federal police officers were on patrol in the town which proved to be good for keeping the populace safer. Prices of souvenirs, food, alcohol, taxis, and hotels was very reasonable.
The town reminded me of Spain...charming, rustic, and with an old-world air. Loved the town. Wish I could have stayed longer than two nights and seen more. I hope to return one day. It is now a favorite town in Mexico.
Beautiful colonial town. Exceptional architecture. The ones with some money or with big money, trying to cash in more and more on mass tourism, national and international, building 2 and 3 more 3 floors for renters on top of old colonial houses and hotels. Height of these constructions not so impressive from street level, but scary, considering earthquakes, when seem from bottom of hill.
must go to hotel monte taco, the only one, rooftops in downtown have nice view, buy silver good prieces, and must go to "mil cascadas" thousand falls, sport adventure, falls, swimming, hicking
Taxco is a charming city. The narrow cobblestone streets, the white buildings, the churches, and the surrounding mountains are picturesque. The people are helpful and friendly. The Zócalo is wonderful to sit in the evening with the birds in the trees singing. There are many restaurants to sit and enjoy the view. A very good coffee shop is right on the Zócalo. You can take a taxi up to Christo for the view. There are many shops to spend your money.
Calling itself a "Magical Town" is well deserved. Taxco combines the small city charm with the new world colonial style to make it a visit worth several days. The silver shops are a must with thousands of designs at very affordable prices. For photography it is best to wake up before dawn to see the town wake up with less bustle in the streets.
Great food in the restaurant. Amazing view and the entire property grounds. Big, clean room. Mine was by the pool that used every day. The terrace view is breathtaking and restaurant has amazing food and service. Makes you want to spend the whole day in there. Given the fact that this is one of the best hotels in Taxco, the prices are more than reasonable. I’m seriously planning to stay here again with my family next year.
The location is great, right in the middle of town (which is not too big) so it is easy to walk anywhere from there. The building itself was amazing, very pretty, and traditional. Just the views from the hotel are worth the stay. The restaurant had good food and very good prices. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful.
The hotel is lovely for the cost, and the staff very friendly. I visited with my girlfriend for my birthday, and Ruben from the staff helped her prepare a surprise for me! This was far above and beyond what I was expecting, thank you Ruben! The rest of the staff was also friendly and helpful, and the room very clean
One of my favourite hotels in Mexico. This hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. Rooms were clean, spacious and the views from the roof might be the best in the town. The pool is beautiful as well and the restaurant food is also great. Can not fault. Just stunning
This hotel is a time capsule! The hotel was built in 1940 and the room never changed, except for a very good mattress. Living with a small room and bath from long ago isn’t for everyone, but it is fun if you like such things! I recommend it for a couple days.
beautiful hotel, wonderful balcony, giant and gorgeous pool, historical mural completed by an artist is part of the property. super clean, gorgeous views of the town from the restaurant pool.
The hotel was beautiful just like the architecture of the village. It was quiet and magical. It felt like we went back in time and experienced the life of the villagers.
Great hotel with amazing towels, toiletries and room facilities. Very comfortable bed and the cafe and roof terrace were also great.
