Make the effort to find the street art, it Is good fun. The jettys are really interesting as well as the tricycles. Hop on hop off bus is good, not too much at fort Cornwallis as they are doing extensive renovations. The Marin mall at Komtar is a confusing place.
Melting pot of Chinese, Indian and Malaysian culture set among classical British colonial building and lovely big trees lining the road. George town itself is in some ways a trip back in time. Around Penang Island there are green areas, beaches and Penang Hill is brilliant. Take the cable car and enjoy the stroll. However be aware that the beaches are not good for swimming as lots of Jellyfish abound and a trip to nearby Langkawi is needed to water enthusiasts.

Visiting George town during chinese new year is suggested, we arrived at the eve of new year, and saw a lot of chinese culture and how they celebrate the new year and also the morning after that, how they wake you up. Monkey beach is also good. just enjoy and make sure you see Kek lok si temple that is amazing especially during chinese new year, working hours is extended and you can see lights.
Our trip to Georgetown was complicated by the fact that we were there during Chinese New Year week, meaning that many Straits Chinese-owned businesses — including hawker stalls — were closed or kept strange hours. While the core World Heritage area contains fascinating history, culture, and architecture, it was also much more run down and trash ridden than we expected. We saw a rat every night we were there, including at the food stalls by the Esplanade, where we ate our last night in town. Walking in the core area can be a challenge as well.

Apollo Inn is a budget property, centrally located in the heart of the old part of George Town. It's within 5 minute walking distance from Komtar Tower and 10-13 minutes to major landmarks such as Clan Jetties, Blue Mansion, Little India, and more. It's super close to dozens of amazing food options, including some of the best cendol and char koay teow in town. Room and lobby are clean and well air conditioned. There is complimentary breakfast and afternoon coffee offered, although we didn't partake.

The cleanliness of room and front desk which is polite.. Didn't manage to try the buffet as not sure which one to go ground or underground is halal, but was impressed by the front desk and housekeeping staff who attended to us. Although it was my first time in Sunway Hotel but i enjoy staying in clean room which i am particular about cleanliness. I would like to thank you to everyone for the hospitality during our stay in Sunway Hotel Georgetown.

The location was superb. Very close to the main attractions of George Town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was sparkling clean and our room was spectacular to the point where we wanted to stay in rather than go out! The bathroom was also top notch and spacious. We had a deluxe room. Finally the decor of the hotel in Anglo-Indian Colonial style was really something special and made you feel you were in another era.

personal. It is a very safe hotel. Have forgotten my handbag with passport and wallet at reception at my check out and they kept it safe for me. i think if u play in this amount for money it is the best, but personally in George Town I would have given a double amount of money as most of the hotels are renovated old buildings
