George Town is a nice place with friendly people and a lot to visit. I found the Tempel Khoo Kongsi just wonderful, I liked the Blue Mansion, a walk through the old George Town with its nice houses and small temples, the Clan Jetties. The Kapitan Keling Mosque was beautiful. I visited Penang Hill by train but the view was not clear and too many people as it was holiday time. To avoid long waiting lanes you can book in advance and pay a little bit more to get the fast lane. In old George Town everything is in walking distance. For longer distances I took the cheap Grab app taxis. Locals rcommended U mobile prepaid cards because others like Digi or Maxi's are often recycled cards that are already registered and can't use Grab app. Next time I would avoid school holiday time and Chinese New Year because it's crowded.

I liked most is the Penang Hill, then Kek Lok Si Temple, then Batu Ferringhi, street food, massage at Pinang Spa House. However I don't like the traffic jam at sunset going to the beach. Also, I don't like the booked transport going back to KL from Penang. The bus company Maraliner switched the bus from double decker to ordinary bus. From 3 seater per row to cramped 4 seaters per row... And we have to endure 9 hours of traffic jam going to KL from Penang.

Friendly, helpful staff eager to please.

Friendly, helpful staff eager to please. Good location near variety of shops & street art. Comfortable & spacious room on the first floor with much needed airconditioning plus ceiling fan. Old style accommodation but charming & in clean state & well maintained except for a leaking tap in bathroom vanity unit. Tap only needed replacement washer. Free buffet breakfast food was good & outside scenery was appealing.

The town was very good and hospitable but most areas visited lacked tour guides. There is need to empower the youth of George town to learn about their town and be tour guides. Yes its easy to get around George town as the hotel where i spent had maps on about penang hence navigation and planning becomes easy.

Georgetown is a fine place to visit.

Georgetown is a fine place to visit. There is much to do and many ways to immerse ones self in the culture. Do not stay at The Hotel Kimberley. Do not use Booking.com to access accomodation, it is extremely unreliable unless looking at 5 star stays. I strongly doubt anyone from Booking.com actually experiences first hand the accomodation which they portray on their website.

I’m so glad we had an opportunity to stay 4 nights at the Town House (2 bed) and get a taste of George Town’s heritage. The house is really well placed to explore. The property was equipped to make our stay comfortable and beautifully restored. The house was much more spacious than we expected and less noisy than you’d think for being in town. The staff were accommodating, breakfast at the main hotel, the Blue Mansion, hit the spot too. All in all, great experience.

Good vibe, the room, downstairs and the outside had lots of personality. Nice balcony, nice idea to put out books that guests can borrow. There were options for different languages. The staff was amazing and very helpful. We were woken up by the mosque, but we booked the hotel knowing this and were curious to experiencing that bit of culture. Definitely something special to experience! When in George Town, I would definitely book this hotel again.

The room turns out better than expected as boutique hotel. Cosy stay at George town and near many famous street food with walking distance. The room is ok and couldn't hear much noises at night. Good soundproof too. The room has a mini wooden basin and scoop probably for use to fill hot water for foot bath. Even though the hotel does not have eatery, it's ok as they are near street food at morning and kimberley night market at night.

The hotel is a hidden diamond, we had the premier plus room, due to availability. The room was huge and has a balcony, a fantastic bathroom and powerful shower. You get one free mini bar during your stay but obvs no alcohol. The cleanliness and brightness of the room was fantastic. The staff and manager literally could not do enough for you. The locations is great and walking distance to all the attractions in George town

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the historical centre of George Town. Breakfasts were included in our price and they offered sufficient choices. Server staff were superb, as were all front desk personnel. It was wonderful getting up before breakfast and leaning over the common balcony to watch the morning activities begin to unfold.
