Prior to check-in we had a Whatapps message from the owner Adrian offering assistance with logistics. After checking our arrival time at Kuala Terrengganu, he gave us the exact jetty to go to, and organised with the boat operator to take us to the island and then his staff took us from the island jetty to the resort, and from thereon he helped us organized activities while on the island (at great price too). As the resort is right on the beach, it makes snorkeling and diving really easy. We later learnt that he only took over the resort early 2026 and had made much improvements since.

If you want the experience of having a private beach in nature on a beautiful island, then the Redang Campstay is for you!  It was affordable, and I was extremely impressed with how my tent stayed dry during heavy thunderstorms.  I would like to leave a shout out for the staff, who were super friendly and helpful.  They will help you arrange snorkel trips and transportation and also tell you any information you need to know about the island.

I didn't just "like" my time at The Taaras—I loved it! First and foremost, the staff provided the best hospitality experience I’ve ever had in my life (and I have traveled plenty). Their genuine care is unmatched. The beach is also fantastic and truly out of this world. Finally, I deeply appreciated the hotel’s commitment to the surrounding nature. Seeing animals like monkeys happily roaming around the property was a huge highlight for me. It’s wonderful to stay somewhere that protects its local wildlife.

Amazing quiet location Straight on beach. The huts are super cute.

it was okay overall, but I didn't like the breakfast that is given. Overall, it is okay as I spent whole days outside of the resort and came to only sleep at night.
