This is a wonderful place for a peaceful escape.
This is a wonderful place for a peaceful escape. It is in the middle of forest and pastures so it is very quiet. There are excellent walking trails nearby. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated with enough space to be very comfortable. Even in the cold of winter it was well heated. The kitchen is very well equipped with good quality items. The quirky coffee-maker is fascinating and makes excellent coffee. There is a very good collection of maps and guide books for the local area. Hanneke's welcome was fulsome and very friendly and informative. Checkout was efficient and friendly. There are several very good restaurants a short drive away, try Puur.

You can make beautiful biking tours, you can rent bikes everywhere (for children and adults, any type of bike). Beaches are beautiful. Going across the dunes and see popping up the sea with the sandbeaches is great. There are everywhere cycletracks. Weather can change during day but there are many little towns to visit if it's raining (Zierikzee, Veere, Middelburg, Domburg,..) but there is mostly the possibility to bike, walk or go to the beach on the same day when sun shines again.

The Hotel de Torenhoeve is beautifully located. You are crossing the dunes and enter the beach after a short walk. The hotel staff was incredible helpful and kind. We were lucky to get the last available room! It was fully booked. The breakfast is a nice small international breakfast with coffee specialities. They have a lovely outdoor terrace for eating breakfast and dinner.

Good price/quality balance. Neat hotel, comfortable, basic comfort in refurbished rooms. Staff very friendly, rooms are functional and nice. Breakfast is ok. Lovely walking trail starting at the back of the hotel, leading to the sea shore (about 20min). Espresso machine in the room so you can enjoy a free cup.
