Really lovely place, have been here several times and love it more each visit. There's lots to see and places to eat and watch the world go by. As it has a University there are lots of students around which adds to its vibrancy. It's a strange mix of busy and quiet in parallel. Watch out for the bikes as you're in the Netherlands, this took a little getting used to but it does mean there are not so many cars which is lovely. Absolutely recommend a visit!

Utrecht is better than Amsterdam!
Utrecht is better than Amsterdam! It has lots of old buildings and picturesque streets and bridges. The city is also very popular for its University hence one can feel the young vibrant population in the city proper.

A lovely old town with boutique, vintage shops, and great bars and cafes plus a big shopping mall near the station for international brands and a lovely up-market department store. Live music in many places. Lots of walking but enjoyable!

I am in love with this city.
I am in love with this city. Utrecht is a reduced and improved Amsterdam. A very romantic and charming city with canals, parks, narrow streets, neat houses and various entertainments. It reminds me of a model of a puppet city. Everything is clean and tidy, people are smiling, calm and friendly. It's not a small town, but the central part can be explored on foot and the more remote parts by bike or car. There are plenty of places to picnic and walk around and it's only 30 minutes from the bustel of Amsterdam.

We came in November. This is our second time in Utrecht.
We came in November. This is our second time in Utrecht. Previously, we came for Le Guess Who and only for the festival's duration. We were disappointed with ourselves for not giving us and the city a longer time. We returned for the music festival but stayed a week. We could have stayed much longer still.
The people are friendly; the city has interesting things to see and do. As a simple thing, it is a joy to bike around, and while completely obvious, the canals are magical to stroll around.
Utrecht is a beautiful city we look forward to exploring for years.
Having only been in November, Autumn is an enchanting time of year to be there. Wet, at times, but lovely. I can imagine enjoying it all year round.
As a tourist, I'm still unfamiliar with a lot of local food but Olly Bollen and Bitterballen bring me so much joy.
While I didn't buy anything while I was there besides records, they have some cool vintage clothes, antiques and other shops I look forward to checking out. The old town has an amazing shop with all sorts of science and medical antiques. Fascinating.
I also went to a coffee shop, which seemed like a tattoo parlour. Excellent food and service that made me feel like we were old friends. I cant really describe how approachable people and the feeling go way beyond that.
I need to learn Dutch for future trips, but I found that many (most) people spoke fluent English.

We went to listen to The Dutch Swing College Jazz Band at the Tivoli on the Friday night. That was most enjoyable. On Saturday afternoon we went to the Dom and sat through a sublime Ceremony of Carols, The choir here are just superb. 300+ people sat enchanted, and then joined in with "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" with great gusto, and the organ accompanied this rendition. I would come back just to attend an Organ Recital alone at this cathedral. The Old Town is a delight for the shopaholic, the array of stores, shops, etc is stupendous, and there is so much going on that the mind cowers with the choice. The train service from Schiphol is both frequent and quick, but bring comfortable shoes as cars are not allowed everywhere.
The location was perfect most especially when you’re traveling via the train. It is placed near the city center which makes walking a very convenient choice of exploring the quaint city of Utrecht.
The size of the room another plus factor you can conveniently work your way around and even if you have a companion the space is still enough. I love how responsive the staff were to my queries.
If you’re a HH member you still qualify for the perks but not the reward points since the booking is made from Booking.com.
ZIES is a small boutique hotel located right in the center of the old town, easy to access from the train station. We stayed in the Nerello Mascalese room, which was fabulous! Including a terrace with large windowed doors, comfortable bed, fruit and chocolate on arrival, and a spacious bathroom. Really lovely place to stay for a couple nights in Utrecht. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. We were there at the beginning of the week, so their wine bar wasn't open, but looked nice as well.
We loved this hotel and would come back again! The fixtures were beautiful. Everything was well done. Very classy and comfortable. We did not like being on a busy main road, but the restaurants right downstairs seemed very good and it was not difficult to cross the street into the center. The hotel was very near two large churches. Utrecht does a great job separating the center into neighborhoods. There is so much character in this city.
The location is only 500 meters from Utrecht centraal meaning getting there takes minutes. I was a bit worried walking alone at night in a city center I wasn't familiar with but it was so short it was fine. I was able to check in at 11pm since that was the only time that worked with my flight and they were fine with that, the guy was also really friendly. Generally just a pretty good hotel, I'll likely go back.
Location is perfect, right behind Utrecht Dom in the city center - everything is within 5mins reach. The hotel is in a beautiful building dating back to 1600s, decorated with good taste. The (double) room we had was very comfortable, quiet and clean, in traditional yet modern style and offering all amenities (coffee and tea, mini bar, hair dryer, iron and ironing board). Staff was very friendly and polite.
The hotel was very nice, the people working there were amazing. Not perfect for a long stay, as there's no kitchen box in the (small & medium) rooms, but we loved our week there nonetheless. The building is unique, so make sure to let them know if you don't do well with stairs, so they give you an easily accessible room.
We'll definitely visit again if we need a place to stay in Utrecht!
The location was a short walk from the train station as well as within easy walking distance of the main city centre attractions. The beds were comfortable, showers hot and staff extremely friendly and helpful. The conversion of the church into an hotel was ingeniously designed and made an interesting backdrop to our stay. The bar area felt vibrant and lively at all times of day.
The hotel has a great location just outside the Utrecht city center and easily accessible on foot or by bicycle.
Our room was overlooking a lovely tree fringed lake with ducks and other birds around.
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had a tub as well as a shower.
Everything was modern, clean and comfortable yet not over priced.
The breakfast buffet was plentiful.
The room was clean, cosy and comfortable. The location is good, not in the city centre but right next to the main train station in Utrecht. The value for the money is good, I have missed the breakfast, which is not included in the pice of the room, but it is to pay extra.
Situated on the 12th floor, I really liked the lookout and the sunset view from the room.
Breakfast options are great! There are many to choose from. The location is fantastic — you’re truly in the heart of city centre for Utrecht. It was so easy to walk around the area and have our hotel be so perfectly located.
You feel pretty secure as well with needing to scan your room card to get to the hotel entrance and to your floor after hours.
Staff is really nice and so is the hotel. Minimalistic modern decor that has everything you need.
Very close to a train station where you can get a train/tram/bus and he in Utrecht Centraal within 2 minutes. Also has an OV fiets station across the street.
Shower has good temperature and water pressure, which is not always a thing in hotels.
.location: Utrecht is a beautiful city, and so the hotel was in the heart of the city easy to walk from the hotel to the canals, restaurants, shops, etc..
.The room:We stayed in the Deluxe double room 10/10 top notch
.The breakfast and the restaurant in the hotel was supperb.
and yes diffidently we will stay agin wen we visit next time
The location near Utrecht Centraal is an enormous plus! We really enjoyed most that this hotel has to offer. We had view over the train tracks, but because of good insulation, train noise was not an issue. The room was large enough to be comfortable. Loved the pool, and the restaurant/bar downstairs was very nice as well.
I'd rate the location 11 out of 10 - it's the city centre, right in front of the central station, in the shopping mall where you can find everything. Several minutes walk to the Dom Tower. Room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. If I return to Utrecht, I'll definitely stay here again.
Location is good as it is near the Utrecht Centraal Station. The tunnel leading to the hotel is not obvious but it is only a short distance away. The exterior of the hotel looks old but the rooms are newly furnished and space is big and comfortable compared to other hotels nearby.
This is such a lovely hotel. Great breakfast. Comfortable beds and spacious bathroom. Close to the city centre, so perfect to make it a base for exploring. Excellent WiFi. Definitely recommended! I would definitely stay here again.
rooms are really big they will give you the whole floor wc, bathroom are in the different rooms. everything was super clean. there was a small balcony. the view from your room is amazing and hotel is in the heart pf utrecht
I liked this hotel a lot, even their basic room was fantastic. And they have an elevator which isn't very common in the city centre of Utrecht! Plus the room smelled amazing.
