A true gem! A very well preserved time capsule from the early 70's. I'm usually not a big fan of 70's architecture, but whoever designed this hotel in 1972 knew what he/she was doing. Unlike most hotels from this era it is also very well maintained and preserved in its original form, with everything in perfect order and working as intended. Most hotels in this category would either be quite run down or "renovated" without any consideration for the original atmosphere (thus losing whatever charm it might once have possessed). Not so Honne. I was also very impressed with the two ladies working the reception ....and the dinner service ...and the breakfast service. How they cope with that work load, while still being extremely efficient and friendly is beyond me. Hats off! The same is probably true for the maintenance staff, which appears to take great pride in preserving this hotel in perfect condition and in its original form.

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel. The afternoon cakes and coffee/ hot chocolate was such a blessing for hungry children! The food in general was delicious. And the rooms were lovely and comfortable. I don’t often go back to the same place, but here I would. Highly recommend.

The hotel was clean and well equiped for the price. Breakfast very good. Common area very comforable with interesting works of art on the walls. Good location if you want to go Cross country skiing at Nordseter or Sjusjøen, one of the best places to go Nordic skiing. Also a short distance to Hafjell á well equiped Alpine skiing area. Beds were too soft
