The location is fantastic, being right on the water. The drawback is that there are occasionally cruise ships docked right in front of the hotel. Many bars and restaurants within walking distance, but the food offered by the hotel was quite good (and included in the price). Central bus terminal is just a short walk away, too. The cathedral (being renovated until 2025) is very close, as well as the rest of "Old Stavanger". Many museums within walking distance, as well.

The hotel has a wonderful history and character, and has a pretty and comfortable foyer with fresh flowers and a lovely fire. The room was beautiful and stocked with bathroom essentials as well as tea and coffee. The breakfast was terrific as was the dining facility and the restaurant / bar is very cozy. The location is ideal, easy to get to the central station as well as places of interest, with plenty of restaurants and bars close by. And the staff were exceptional, extremely friendly and incredibly helpful.
