One of the best places I have ever stayed. The house is filled with love and warmth, it is very soulful and peaceful. The staff is wonderful and super friendly. It is incredibly beautiful both inside and outside. You really don't want to leave such places, and when you leave, you want to come back.

We did the winter fjord safari which was excellent!

We did the winter fjord safari which was excellent! We also walked up to the bekkefossen waterfall that was frozen and stunning viewpoint. Heard good things about snow shoe tour so sad we ran out of time for that! I reckon 3 days (2 nights) would have been about right (we had 2 days / 1 night)

Wonderful place.

Wonderful place. We visited in early December so very quiet and peaceful. Spectacular views It snowed which made it even more magical. The people are so friendly and the food delicious. Loved the feel of being surrounded by mountains looking out across the fjord.

A quiet village nestled at the head of a beautiful fiord...

A quiet village nestled at the head of a beautiful fiord with towering mountains all around. Excellent facilities including a bakery, grocery store, Mall of Norway and several restaurants, plus fast food outlets. Mini cruises available to nearby attractions, kayaks for hire and lakeside saunas. The most notable attraction is the world famous Flam Railway which climbs to almost 3000 feet a.s.l. up to Myrdal, where it connects to the Oslo to Bergen line.

Flam is a very small village with lots of tourist.

Flam is a very small village with lots of tourist. It is a beautiful place, don't get me wrong. I think the Nærøyfjord cruise was the best one, compared to Hardanger Fjord and Lysefjord. Unfortunately, it was super windy and rainy so we had to turn around half way through the cruise and couldn't do much of other activities as some of them had to be cancelled.

Everyone will tell you it’s a tiny tourist trap with nothing...

Everyone will tell you it’s a tiny tourist trap with nothing to do etc and yes, it’s the tourists’ first stop in the fjords and everything is overpriced. However, if you explore, you can find things to see and do from there. It’s peaceful and quite beautiful, so definitely go when there isn’t a cruise ship in the tiny port.

Flam port is not a little town it's a port with tourist...

Flam port is not a little town it's a port with tourist facilities and the famous amazing train trip which we loved. I would recommend people staying in nearby towns like Aurlands which has a little town vibe. I did not visit the proper town of Flam but I'm sure it would also be charming.

We stayed at this apartment for one night during our Norway in a Nutshell journey, and it was a great choice. The apartment was clean, cozy, and tidy, with a basic kitchen that allowed us to do some simple cooking. The location was fantastic, with a supermarket, station, bakery, shops, and restaurants all nearby, making it very convenient. Flåm itself is such a beautiful place, and we highly recommend staying here for a night to fully enjoy the scenery and atmosphere.

There are just a small selection of accommodation options in Flåm, but most of them are expensive hotels. This hostel offers exceptional value for money in a fairly expensive country. It felt safe, tidy, and efficient. I was here for just one night, but wish I had stayed slightly longer, as it's a really beautiful part of the world. I'd reccomend it for anyone who needs a cost efficient place to stay for a short period of time.

Stunning location with a wonderful balcony and comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy the view. The guest house is cosy and warm and spotlessly clean. There were many beautiful books on Norway to enjoy reading. The bedroom was warm and inviting with a very comfortable bed. Thank you Cathy, for being so welcoming. l felt right at home.

Beautiful hotel in glorious setting. Great for exploring Flåm ( taking the impressive railway) and the surrounding area. The fjord is beautiful. Staff are helpful. Rooms have a balcony with view of the valley. Comfortable stay.
