A little bit aside from the "center" (5-8 minutes easy walk), excellent to be away from the crowd. Very nice house, well organized, very welcoming host, loved it. Common area is absolutely charming and confortable! Do yourself a favour and stay longer.

The view is absolutely incredible, breathtaking! The silence... We just loved and we wish to stay more time! 1 night wasn't enough to enjoy the house which is really nice. We didn't think it was very clean, especially the bedrooms, particularly the one with carpet - which doesn't help, but the rest - the bathroom and kitchen - was spotless. The house was super comfortable and warm, we loved arriving and feeling the comfort of the house. It's very well equipped, it just doesn't have a freezer, otherwise everything works perfectly!

The whole camping site looked very nice and charming. The room was nice, big enough for three of us, and we slept really well. We liked the shared kitchen a lot, it was clean, well equipped, very spacious and light. There was a minor issue with the stairs for the upper bed but it was resolved immediately by the very kind and helpful staff.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The location is very convenient plus there’s beautiful view, rooms are very nice, quiet with comfortable beds and both dinner and breakfast were suuuper delicious. Also staff was very friendly and super nice. It was worth every penny and we would definitely come back!

We visited at the change of the season (Winter to Spring),...

We visited at the change of the season (Winter to Spring), but found it a small place with some excellent tourist attractions (Flam train) and activities (Fjord sauna, Fjord cruises). Only stayed for a night but could have lingered especially a little later into Spring.

Flam is a beautiful little spot.

Flam is a beautiful little spot. Went in April but lucked out with the weather and had sun with mild temperatures- great for hikes up to the center town viewpoint or Brekkefossen waterfall. I can imagine during summer it is more touristy. Prices like most in Norway are more expensive to what we are used to but that’s general for Norway. Food stands, bakery, souvenir shops are easily accessible. I highly recommend visiting the bakery at least once! A favourite was Stegastein viewpoint - a 30 min bus tour. Tours are easily booked at the visitor centre or online and lots of different options from Fjord boat tours to Stegastein viewpoint or Viking Village or stay local for hikes and floating sauna visits. If you are in Norway and heading into the area - Flam is definitely worth a visit either via Flam railway (highly recommend) or a hike or bike in. The views alone are incredible.

We did the winter fjord safari which was excellent!

We did the winter fjord safari which was excellent! We also walked up to the bekkefossen waterfall that was frozen and stunning viewpoint. Heard good things about snow shoe tour so sad we ran out of time for that! I reckon 3 days (2 nights) would have been about right (we had 2 days / 1 night)

Wonderful place.

Wonderful place. We visited in early December so very quiet and peaceful. Spectacular views It snowed which made it even more magical. The people are so friendly and the food delicious. Loved the feel of being surrounded by mountains looking out across the fjord.

A quiet village nestled at the head of a beautiful fiord...

A quiet village nestled at the head of a beautiful fiord with towering mountains all around. Excellent facilities including a bakery, grocery store, Mall of Norway and several restaurants, plus fast food outlets. Mini cruises available to nearby attractions, kayaks for hire and lakeside saunas. The most notable attraction is the world famous Flam Railway which climbs to almost 3000 feet a.s.l. up to Myrdal, where it connects to the Oslo to Bergen line.

Flam is a very small village with lots of tourist.

Flam is a very small village with lots of tourist. It is a beautiful place, don't get me wrong. I think the Nærøyfjord cruise was the best one, compared to Hardanger Fjord and Lysefjord. Unfortunately, it was super windy and rainy so we had to turn around half way through the cruise and couldn't do much of other activities as some of them had to be cancelled.

Prime location…cross the bridge & you’ll be @the train station, Coop grocery & souvenir stores. Place is basic with no frills. Would like if they provided shampoo & shower gel but that’s ok. It’s a hostel. Can’t expect amenities like a 3 or 5 star hotel. Kitchen’s well equipped. We prepared our own meals. There are bins in the fridge for each room so there’s no mix up of groceries. Highly recommend this place. Rates are reasonable!

Location superb both in distance from the crowds so it was blissfully quiet but close enough to walk from train/shops. Apartment was excellent value for money - a great size, super clean, warm, well appointed. I will absolutely be recommending to family and friends travelling to Norway.
