The hotel is absolutely great. It has beautiful rooms. The breakfast is great and we had the best sunsets to observe with birds in the far distance and some adolescent hormones flying around doing some boat activity. :-) It was great.

This is commonly called a tiny home, new and compact. The mattress is foam and a bit stiff but comfortable. All the windows including the glass door have a blackout roller shade so you can sleep in. There's a double bed for adults and two bunk beds. The bathroom has a stand-up shower, a tiny sink and an incinerator toilet which is very interesting. I think they're planning on changing to a more traditional flush toilet. It's quiet and comfortable. The view is very nice, and the walk around the peninsula is outstanding. Relaxing. Excellent host, very friendly.

Absolute the best experience of our holiday in Scandinavia. Amazing place. We did not expect the cottage to be so well equipped. The beautiful clean bathroom has a bathtub. In the middle of the cottage there is a fireplace to complete the atmosphere. Beautiful views and landscaped surroundings.

The staff was so incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and...

The staff was so incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help in any way! I had pleasant conversations with 4 different staff and left with the same warm impression from each! The accommodations were thoughtfully appointed with high end amenities, very clean and comfortable, too! The location was just perfect for the hikes to see the various birds. The different excursions offered are nice; we did the puffin safari and had the most knowledgeable guide (Johannes)! The center's exhibit was quite informative as well! I highly recommend a visit here!

I travelled to Runde with the aim of photographing the birds...

I travelled to Runde with the aim of photographing the birds. The goal somehow fulfilled. The first trip is always a practice. You'll get to see Puffins for sure! The rest of the species can be seen better from the boat as they are taking refuge further down the cliff. The hike is pretty steep in the beginning from the camp site, after that it becomes relatively or moderately steep. I hiked more than 50% of the island in one day with a heavy cargo.

Runde is a wonderful island for birdwatching.

Runde is a wonderful island for birdwatching. Unfortunately, more and more people are coming who don't appreciate the island and its natural beauty. Please help ensure that this paradise is preserved for visitors.

Google Maps indicates a 40-minute hike from the parking lot...

Google Maps indicates a 40-minute hike from the parking lot to the bird cliffs. That's about right if you walk slowly and make a few photo stops. The climb is worthwhile. We did it under low-hanging clouds and in a light drizzle, so the puffins weren't really visible. Nevertheless, we're glad we went.

The boat trip on the Aquila to the cliffs was fantastic.

The boat trip on the Aquila to the cliffs was fantastic. We were able to spot various birds, such as puffins, gannets, sea eagles, guillemots, and more. A beautiful walk to the lighthouse and along the cliffs.

Magical!

Magical! We chose Runde to see Puffins and it was a great experience despite the strenuous hike. The weather was absolutely perfect which of course helped to make the experience even better. We took an extra day in Runde to relax and it was a lovely day.
