The room was cozy and spacious enough for one person. The bathroom was clean and I appreciate them providing shower amenities. The communal fridge and microwave were a nice touch. There's a 24/7 supermarket directly opppsite the hotel and a hiking trail less than 100m away. I rented a SUP board from them and it was reasonably priced. Aleksandra was really nice. She set me up with everything I needed and gave me tips on where to launch my board. I wish I had paddled more but it was really cold and rainy most of the time during my stay. The restaurant next to the hotel serves really good food. I had their fried salmon and it exceeded my expectations. I would have loved to try out more dishes if I weren't travelling on a budget. (Eating out in Norway isn't exactly cheap.) Their restaurant staff are also very friendly! I definitely recommend staying at Yttersia Base. It was calming to just sit on the terrace of the restaurant or by the beach and let the time pass by while you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Senja.

The location was ideal for us to explore Senja. Also, the apartment is so lovely, cosy and was perfect for our stay. I absolutely loved the view from the living room on the marina, sea and the passing ships.
