With views over Tingvollfjorden, these cottages are 14 mi from Sunndalsøra village in a tranquil area. Each offers free WiFi and underfloor heating. The cottage was big, cozy and beautifully furnished. We loved being able to watch dolphins in the fjord from the dining table window. It also had a spacious deck with a hot tub and dining furniture.
Set beside the Langfjorden, this hotel is 0.6 mi from the Eidsvåg town center. It offers free WiFi, an on-site restaurant with a pub, as well as a furnished, fjord-view terrace. The friendly people working there went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed and a view of the fjord. The town is also very pretty and has a large supermarket and a bakery.
Pretty views of the surrounding mountains. However the entire shoreline of the fjord is taken up by industrial plants and therefore you can see nothing but factories and can't see the shore unless you walk about 1.5 hours. Bear in mind this point is just on a roadside and it is right next to the industrial part still so smells quite polluted. Pretty river which you can get to via the steps next to the bridge with a tiny beach to rest at. Public transport links are good. Supermarkets and cafe good. Not much to do in area if you don't have a car, but there is a small cinema and places for coffee. Coffee very good at the kafé on the corner opposite the petrol station.
If you want to be active in the mountains then this town is a good base camp. The Aursjøvegen is good to drive with your normal car. Great panoramic views along the route/road. Open from June 1 thru first snowfall in Autumn. Check website to be sure as conditions can always change. It was a fun ride.
