I went with my friend for a three-day trip to Kathmandu, and I picked up "My Second Home" based on good recommendations here on Booking. I did not regret a moment!!! From our experience, we really felt it was our second home. Deepak, the owner, "my brother", was always there to help with advice, arranging a one-day hiking to Nagarkot, and did everything to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. He arranged for Bidur, a trekking guide, to lead our hike to Nagarkot. Thumbs up for Bidur as well. A very nice guy who explained a lot to us during this one-day hike and made it a memorable day. His WhatsApp no. is +977 984-9075219. One more important thing: if you are going to Kathmandu and want to stay in Thamel, you want to experience its old vibe and energy, and you cannot get that by staying in luxury hotels, where you are just another guest. If you want to experience the soul of Thamel, the trekkers exchanging their stories during breakfast or over a beer in the evening, you should stay in "My Second Home".

I would 100% recommend the hotel to the peoples that I know around. The service was soo sooo good. Receptionists were awesome specially a young guy and the lady. Idk their names. Food was amazziiinggg. I had great experience and I definitely will come next time too. I had to shoot a makeup video and also a singing video and I did it there. The warm lighting and the room was perfect for that.

everything was perfect. I stayed here with my mum for several nights; the room was amazing with a beautiful view but most important the personal are fabulous :) they took care of us for all the time and they were there for all the requests that we have. I got sick one day and they asked many times how i was and if i needed something; always caring of us <3 beautiful experience! and the neighbourhood is very peaceful and calm!

I have stayed here many times both with my wife and as a solo traveller. Every visit has always exceeded all expectations. On my last visit I made a request for some laundry to be done at the very last minute, it was completed in a very short amount of time, without any shrinkage, and super clean. The food quality and variety is absolutely first class, and I have never suffered with any problems afterwards. Staff are always ready to help immediately with any request or queries at any time. Finally the accommodation itself is always spotless and everything works as it should.
