Dunedin Leisure Lodge - Distinction is a 4-star hotel set in landscaped gardens overlooking Dunedin’s Botanic Gardens. The hotel is a 5-minute drive from the city center. Outdoor Garten, excuse me, Garden. Television was spanking new, loads of channels to my surprise, and the location was defined by Historic Buildings Churches and a Huge Botanical Garten, Unsere Kinder und die Mutti, (that is; my partner and child, wait..children. Meine Gott (My God) was like being somewhere in Europe. The Weather, although the Leisure Lodge could not control that, perhaps because of location, was exceptional. We visited in Dec-April, but will be returning for the Ski Season at Hawea, or is it Haumea. Sank you Sank you Leisure Lodge, we plan to come again, and again, and again!

The bathroom was fully renovated and modern with a big bright mirror. Bunk was as expected but comfy. Hotel was quiet! Good tv and heater for room worked quickly. Location is central and the car park is opposite so we could see our car from the room. We will come again.

A great weekend or short stay getaway. A mix of a heritage city and nature spaces. The peninsular is a must visit and the Royal Albatross centre a treasure for this area. Lots of varied food options, high street shops and label brands can be found easily, with some quirky bookshops too. Very easy to find your way around by car or walking. The street art is great way to help you find your way around the city.
Great eateries, enjoyed wandering around the city centre and university, Larnach Castle was enjoyed by us all, Albatross Colony all it promised to be, people were friendly on the whole. Dunedin is a city with a definite vibe and we loved our visit.
Great spot to stay if you want to see the otago peninsula coast and some beautiful beaches. Food options are plenty. Lots of cultural sites and shopping. Baldwin street (steepest street) also a nice site to visit. Loads of “free” attractions such as the botanical garden. George street is easy to walk up and down for a leisurely stroll or for some exercise.
Some beautiful historical buildings. Otago Peninsular is stunning and a nice drive. Town centre (aka the Octagon) is being redeveloped so we avoided that area due to traffic issues. Had a delicious breakfast at "Zoo Cafe" at St Clair.
Dunedin has some stunning vistas if you go looking and quality coffee and food. While some inner city roads can be confusing, it is easy and fast to get around. St Clair Beach is a must but there so many things to see and do.
I visit Dunedin to attend concerts and prefer to stay the night in a motel rather than risking a long drive home on winding and often foggy roads. I take my own food with me as I'm not a fan of eating out.
North Dunedin, Dunedin
The perfect location to base ourselves for the weekend away. We were three girls and the room was roomy, spotless and luxurious. The spa bath was exceptional. Our host was excellent even when we had to wake him at 1am as our key didn't work. He had even left a spare in the lockbox for us! We walked into town and all the way through town to St Clair. Near the hotel is a myriad of excellent artisan eateries. Buster Greens to name but one. I have always found Dunedin a bit hit and miss with accommodation but this is for sure, a hit.
The location of the Victoria Hotel in Dunedin is fabulous, being in the centre of the city. There are 2 buildings to the hotel. We were there for my Daughter's Graduation & we had one room in the older building & one room in the new modern building. Our room in the newer part was very spacious, quiet & the beds were super comfortable. We also had kitchen facilities in our room, which was very useful. The room was also extremely clean & tidy. Plenty of car parking at the hotel too.
Dunedin
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Also in the southern side of the city which makes it an easy drive to the airport. the layout was very nice, we had a 2 bedroom unit and the floor plan made it easy to move around in the apartment without getting in the way of other people. For example, the bathroom and kitchen were not on top of each other which you often see in motels.
It’s always very clean and the reason we always book with Scenic is due to the beds. They are so comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud! The staff are always so helpful and polite and the location is right in town so you don’t need to worry about taxis etc. Whenever we come to Dunedin we always book this hotel.
great location walking distance to centre of Dunedin. stayed in the large two bedroom suite. modern mini home. quiet even with NYE celebrations happening around town. SMS received first thing next morning to see what we needed done for the room as this was a self check hotel with no staff on site.
Dunedin
A gorgeous little apartment in a quiet garden setting. The bellbirds or tuis providing continual song. Wonderful hostess. We will stay again when next in Dunedin for a night. This was a far superior place to stay than in some hotel/motel complex.
We had a lovely stay. The apartments were close to town warm and cosy had every thing we needed. Nice and clean. We were lucky to have an apartment that included a washer n dryer! Look forward to staying again soon. Love Dunedin!
The location of this hotel was perfect for the purpose of our stay, the parking was ok although very tight but it was first come first served which was fair enough
North Dunedin, Dunedin
Very nice hotel with a walking distance to downtown and central Dunedin. And if you have a rental car, very easy to park in the property. Highly recommended!
Great hotel, with spacious room and super comfortable bed. Staff were welcoming and overall a good place to stay. Underground secure parking a bonus.
This is one if the Wains Hotel which has been updated & modernized and was a great place to enjoy a couple of days in Dunedin
Dunedin
Quiet location. Value. Generously furnished. The supposed luxury hotel we went to next isn’t as well equipped.
Very tastefully decorated and extremely well appointed room for a hotel
