Distinction Dunedin Hotel has been elegantly refurbished to reflect the rich heritage of this 1930’s former post office. The staff was quick, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and warm.
This 1920’s building, formally the Christian Brothers stately residence, retains much of its original grandeur, offering guests a true heritage experience with modern comforts. This hotel was such a delight. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There may not have been many people staying but I never heard anyone and while there is some road noise, I slept soundly, which is saying a lot after 5 different hotels in one week. I highly recommend!
Hotel St Clair is located just 10 minutes’ drive from central Dunedin. Rooms include flat-screen satellite TV, private bathroom with under-floor heating and views of St Clair Beach. Stunning setting, clean, and friendly staff. Get an ocean facing room, if you can.
Located in central Dunedin, Law Courts Hotel features an onsite restaurant, bar and gaming facilities. Guests enjoy free WiFi and free parking. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV. Hotel was downtown, within walking distance of everything/where I wanted to go/see. Nicely self contained; room, restaurant, bar. Staff was over the top, friendly and outgoing, and very attentive to any questions or needs that I had.
Centrally located in Dunedin, Victoria Hotel is a 5-minute walk to The Octagon and St. Paul’s Cathedral. It offers spacious studios and apartments with satellite TV and private balconies. We stayed in the new rooms opposite reception -rooms were spacious, beds super comfy, laundry room easy to use and restaurant/bar yummy & relaxing.

Visit the peninsula with Albatros and blue penguin but also tunnel beach and St Clair are worthwhile destinations and easily reached with public transport. Nice library with free WIFi open till 8 pm during the week, weekend at 4 pm.
A compact little city with easy access to stunning countryside and beaches such as the peninsula. Friendly Scottish hospitality. Excellent cafes Esplanade (Italian) and Starfish at St Clair beach. Interesting modern art exhibitions at city gallery in the Octagon with good cafe next door. Olveston historic home well worth a visit
The town centre has a good selection of shops, cafe's, resteraunts, bars etc. Also close at hand are lovely beaches, costal views and wildlife centres such as the Albatross sanctuary. Down side is, it is only a very short walk from the hub of the town to retail areas, on the Main Street, through town, where much needed investment is required to tidy things up. There are many closed, practically derelict, retail businesses.
Weather was not on my side during my visit. It rained and much of my outdoor activities I had wanted to do was postpone. So I ended up spending time indoors and enjoyed my visit at The Otago settlers museum. It was great! I also recommend the University Book Shop as it has some good collection of books for all readers. The drive to Otago Peninsula is not to be missed. :-) Sadly weather was beautiful on the day of check-out. :-(
Beautiful vibrant city with mixture of historic and modern architecture. Close to lovely beaches with access to wildlife areas. Lots of local walking and cycling trails on Signal Hill. Plenty of restaurants along and around George Street.
Very nice place. A mixture of city life and nature. So far, my favourite spot is St. Kilda’s Beach. I love hearing the waves and the walking on the fine sand. 😊 I loved Chatime! The days of my stay in Dunedin usually equates the number of times I ordered their milk tea. Haha 😂 Shopping is also nice in Dunedin. Not as much in bigger cities but good enough for non shopaholics. Lol 😂 I will certainly comeback 😊

The unit was spacious and clean, with kitchenette, living/dining area, and separate bedroom. The multiple heaters in each room were a huge plus given the cold spell we endured while in Dunedin. The free Netflix also came in handy as we were mostly rained in one afternoon. The motel is a short drive away from many restaurants in the city, and we found the location to be convenient yet quiet. The units could use some updates to make it more modern, but we were just here for 1 night and for the price, this motel is a great value.

I can’t say enough how great this place is. It’s like a 5 star hotel. It’s exceptionally clean and you can tell the owners take pride in ensuring everything down to the last detail. I was delighted when they offered me milk for my morning tea. The room had every single amenity I could ever need, it’s right by the university and a quick walk to shops & restaurants. Stay here if you can.

Excellent facilities. My husband and I stayed with my parents in a two bedroom apartment, like a little house. Excellently appointed with a supermarket around the corner. Free parking. Awesome quiet comfortable base to explore Dunedin from. 5 minute drive into town or a cheap taxi after drinks. Botanical gardens next door. Lovely helpful enthusiastic staff.

This fantastic boutique hotel has a wonderful location overlooking the beach and hot water pool. It is about a 10-15min drive to the center of town. Check in and out, were simple and quick affairs by very efficient staff members. A nice touch was the fruit bowl in our room - thank you!!!

Villa was perfect for 4! Greatest price-quality we had in our month in New Zealand (really cheap in comparison with motels or hotels, that maybe did not even had the same utilities etc). Enough space for everyone, location also not too far from the city etc.

Lovely staff. I travel quite a bit for work and this is my first choice in Dunedin. Parking is free and easily accessible and the location is perfect. There's also an elevator which you don't necessarily have in many smaller hotels.

This hotel was cheap and cheerful. Had all the amenities you could want for the price. It was spotlessly clean. Really great location. Staff were lovely.

Location was excellent to downtown and tourist sites. We liked the fact that the heritage building was being used for apartments instead of torn down.
