Meine Gott (My God) was like being somewhere in Europe. The Weather, although the Leisure Lodge could not control that, perhaps because of location, was exceptional. We visited in Dec-April, but will be returning for the Ski Season at Hawea, or is it Haumea. Sank you Sank you Leisure Lodge, we plan to come again, and again, and again!

I was brought up and schooled in Dunedin but this was my first extended trip back for over 50 years. Much of the town needs an up=grade. I have the impression that if it wasn't for the University Dunedin may be considered to by a dying town!!
A great weekend or short stay getaway. A mix of a heritage city and nature spaces. The peninsular is a must visit and the Royal Albatross centre a treasure for this area. Lots of varied food options, high street shops and label brands can be found easily, with some quirky bookshops too. Very easy to find your way around by car or walking. The street art is great way to help you find your way around the city.
Great eateries, enjoyed wandering around the city centre and university, Larnach Castle was enjoyed by us all, Albatross Colony all it promised to be, people were friendly on the whole. Dunedin is a city with a definite vibe and we loved our visit.
Great spot to stay if you want to see the otago peninsula coast and some beautiful beaches. Food options are plenty. Lots of cultural sites and shopping. Baldwin street (steepest street) also a nice site to visit. Loads of “free” attractions such as the botanical garden. George street is easy to walk up and down for a leisurely stroll or for some exercise.
Some beautiful historical buildings. Otago Peninsular is stunning and a nice drive. Town centre (aka the Octagon) is being redeveloped so we avoided that area due to traffic issues. Had a delicious breakfast at "Zoo Cafe" at St Clair.
Dunedin has some stunning vistas if you go looking and quality coffee and food. While some inner city roads can be confusing, it is easy and fast to get around. St Clair Beach is a must but there so many things to see and do.
aevery aspect of this hotel is professional, friendly, clean, we could not fault it! We arrived with a lot of luggage as we have a 4 month old baby, we were instantly followed to the room by your receptionist who carried half of our bags while my husband parked the car, the rooms are massive and modern and well equipped. The food from your restaurant is always delicious and of an amazing standard. This is the second time we have stayed here and we love it. I am a travel agent and this will always be my go to hotel in Dunedin. Love it!!!
central location was great. room was modern and tastefully decorated. had a separate bath and shower. lovely bath products. very comfortable bed and great Wi-Fi and TV size. Bodum style filter coffee and the staff searched for decaf for us ! the indoor/outdoor centre as the common landing area was unique! this is not a hotel with room service so guest beware but lots of options within walking distance.
Loved this apartment style hotel! Really tastefully decorated - great modern industrial style. Was spotless and the apartment is a great size for a short or long stay - great facilities with a full size fridge, cook top, kitchen amenities and even a dishwasher. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was a good size and modern. Excellent value!
I arrived around 10am and the reception is very accommodating to allow me to check-in early at the hotel. I booked a standard room but luckily gave me a junior suite room :) nice breakfast and location is great and Tourist spots just walking distance too.. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Dunedin..
Great communication with John before and during our stay. Great sized bathroom and washer/dryer helped sort out our 'holiday clothes', After mastering the steep hills we did enjoy a great meal at the Cable Hotel literally down the hill. Local shops a bonus. Outlook great and felt very private.
North Dunedin, Dunedin
Well presented and spotlessly clean with an excellent shower. Everything you could realistically want for a short stay. Very close to the Botanical Gardens and restaurants within walking distance. Downtown Dunedin is 20 minutes walk or a short bus-ride from right outside the hotel.
Had to stay 4 extra nights unexpectedly. The hotel went out of their way to accommodate us and upgraded our room. The best service I have had in Dunedin. Will definitely stay again.
