Distinction Dunedin Hotel has been elegantly refurbished to reflect the rich heritage of this 1930’s former post office. Luxurious and clean. Beautiful contemporary home. Enjoyed the peace and quiet of a beautiful neighbourhood. Gym access nearby at the university. Easy to get to the city centre.
This 1920’s building, formally the Christian Brothers stately residence, retains much of its original grandeur, offering guests a true heritage experience with modern comforts. Staff super friendly and helpful.
Hotel St Clair is located just 10 minutes’ drive from central Dunedin. Rooms include flat-screen satellite TV, private bathroom with under-floor heating and views of St Clair Beach. Being return guests confirms we like this hotel. Danielle on the front desk was friendly, helpful and charming (10/10 service). We had all our meals at Pier 24, all excellent. We love the location, ocean views and free parking.
Located in central Dunedin, Law Courts Hotel features an onsite restaurant, bar and gaming facilities. Guests enjoy free WiFi and free parking. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV. Hotel was downtown, within walking distance of everything/where I wanted to go/see. Nicely self contained; room, restaurant, bar. Staff was over the top, friendly and outgoing, and very attentive to any questions or needs that I had.
Centrally located in Dunedin, Victoria Hotel is a 5-minute walk to The Octagon and St. Paul’s Cathedral. It offers spacious studios and apartments with satellite TV and private balconies. We somehow got an upgraded room. I can't comment on the regular rooms, but the one we had was posh. Lots of room, great amenities and even a balcony of sorts. Staff was great as well. The value for what we paid was incredible.
Centrally located in Dunedin, the Kingsgate Hotel is a 3.5 star property offering spacious accommodations close to the city center. Guests receive 2GB of free WiFi per day. Loved the breakfast deal. Great outlook.

The town centre has a good selection of shops, cafe's, resteraunts, bars etc. Also close at hand are lovely beaches, costal views and wildlife centres such as the Albatross sanctuary. Down side is, it is only a very short walk from the hub of the town to retail areas, on the Main Street, through town, where much needed investment is required to tidy things up. There are many closed, practically derelict, retail businesses.
Weather was not on my side during my visit. It rained and much of my outdoor activities I had wanted to do was postpone. So I ended up spending time indoors and enjoyed my visit at The Otago settlers museum. It was great! I also recommend the University Book Shop as it has some good collection of books for all readers. The drive to Otago Peninsula is not to be missed. :-) Sadly weather was beautiful on the day of check-out. :-(
Beautiful vibrant city with mixture of historic and modern architecture. Close to lovely beaches with access to wildlife areas. Lots of local walking and cycling trails on Signal Hill. Plenty of restaurants along and around George Street.
Very nice place. A mixture of city life and nature. So far, my favourite spot is St. Kilda’s Beach. I love hearing the waves and the walking on the fine sand. 😊 I loved Chatime! The days of my stay in Dunedin usually equates the number of times I ordered their milk tea. Haha 😂 Shopping is also nice in Dunedin. Not as much in bigger cities but good enough for non shopaholics. Lol 😂 I will certainly comeback 😊
Dunedin is a historical town. The Settlers museum was interesting and told the story of Dunedin. Some good restaurants and cafes too. St Clair Beach is worth a look. The Otago Peninsular has lovely scenery.
Dunedin is a friendly accessible city. For us the best thing is the original live music and the many quirky venues. Check out Dog with two tails. Two gorillas, zanizibar, the crown, peguenos, Dee’s cafe and venue, the cook and the list goes on. Plenty of great restaurants . For value and Italian head to eltrusco. For Mexican and amazing churrios head to alley cantina. And for amazing steak and desserts the new chef and staff at the captain cook are fantastic. For fusion madam woos are very good. Oh how can I forget the funky friendly fantastic modaks for breakfast and lunch! Oh and starfish is supreme for food and location. Also really friendly service which is amazing considering how popular they are. What can I say Dunedin I love you!

Very unprofessional staff and receptionist. They charged us for leaving the room linen not at the place. Which is their duty. Rooms were smelling badly and there is much more better hotels in dunedin and much more cheaper than leith valley. And when i gave feedback about their service he argued and talked in very unprofessional manner and then we shifted to another place for 2nd night. Please ignore this hotel. I will not recommend it. 0 stars out of 100 stars.

I can’t say enough how great this place is. It’s like a 5 star hotel. It’s exceptionally clean and you can tell the owners take pride in ensuring everything down to the last detail. I was delighted when they offered me milk for my morning tea. The room had every single amenity I could ever need, it’s right by the university and a quick walk to shops & restaurants. Stay here if you can.

The property was in a great location walking distance to shops and attractions. The hotel had a very good restaurant and very reasonably priced. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were clean and modern. Housekeeping was extremely good and thorough replenishing items as required. Great stay in Dunedin and would definitely recommend.

A very nice modern hotel in a restored historical building. The one bedroom suite was very comfortable, with top of the line amenities, including washer/dryer. Both the hotel and the on-site restaurant are relatively expensive, but you definitely receive value for your money.

Villa was perfect for 4! Greatest price-quality we had in our month in New Zealand (really cheap in comparison with motels or hotels, that maybe did not even had the same utilities etc). Enough space for everyone, location also not too far from the city etc.

The room was new and perfectly furnished, the kitchen, shower room and dining room are all well settled. The host are friendly with helpful travel information. We loved staying in this motel and probably our favorite motel in New Zealand.
