This place is picture perfect- beautiful gardens outside your private terrace with great views of the surrounding peaks in one of New Zealand's most beautiful areas- Lord of the Rings land. Located 28 mi from Queenstown, Camp Glenorchy offers accomodation in Glenorchy, surrounded by mountain views. New Zealand's first net zero sustainable property. This place is worth the effort getting there. I've stayed at lots of hotels, but none like this one -- it's eco-chic!

Only 45 minutes from Queenstown, this quiet little town is on the edge of paradise. Stock up in Queenstown as there's no real shopping in glenorchy, but stay in glenorchy! The views are awesome and it's on the edge of magnificent hiking and drives!

The lodge is in Kinloch not Glenorchy! Glenorchy is 2 minutes away by boat, but 25 minutes by car down paved, gravel and logging roads. If you want a quiet, peaceful destination, Kinloch is your place. If you want more choice of dining Glenorchy is the better choice.
The town of Glenorchy is PRECIOUS. The general store is full of beautiful things and good food, the hotel has incredible dinners, the people are very friendly, and it's one of the only places on our 10-day trip where we felt like we completely escaped the crowds for a more local experience. The Glenorchy-Paradise Road is an unsealed gem of a drive, full of gorgeous landscapes, sheep and pretty little pull-offs. I wish I'd had more time here!

For a relaxing stay, look at this lodge! Really nice place with 100 year-old character. The old and creaky floorboards added to the charm. Sure, we had to share bathrooms, but that wasn’t a big deal. What made it special was the quiet surroundings and the setting away from Glenorchy.

Room was very clean and comfortable. The view was magnificent. Owner left us two fresh scones for snacks and milk in the fridge for cereal. Very nice and friendly people. A perfect place to rest after two days of sled dogs mushing. Highly recommended.
