Visiting friends and family. Buying beautiful fresh fruit. Discovering Mondos as a great place for a coffee and eating place during the day - it matches the wonderful New World in Hastings. Eating out at familiar and new places. Watching the growth and participating in better shopping options. Letting our grand children have fun at Splash Planet and watching our little grand children enjoy the slash pad at Cornwell park. We missed our usual foray into the Farmer's Market as we had to come home. And no time for winery visits We went to the races - a huge improvement on the environment and facilities - last time we went was eight years ago and we vowed we would never go back. Racing club just need to offer more prize money and get better fields. The charges were exorbitant to enter -$15 for such small fields. Are they catering for children - or adults.
The tractor trip to Cape Kidnappers was a highlight, the professionalism of the staff was legend - fun-filled but competent. We were treated to an up close and personal encounter with the gannets plus lots of interesting geology on the way. The family farm zoo was also well worth a visit. Lots of happy well fed, well housed animals ready to take the food from our hands and nuzzle up. The $10 entry fee was a nice change from the high prices in Rotorua.
Cape Kidnappers was the best day, value for money, lovely guides with a brilliant sense of humour and so much fun for everyone of any age . Shopping good if required, people lovely everywhere and so polite . Good choice of accommodation to suit all, from realistic essentials to luxury. Lovely vantage points for viewing Hawke's Bay with toilets available everywhere ! Thank you for considering that.
Splash Planet a must. Had a car so didn't use any public trans. Cape Kidnappers was interesting but the younger kids were bored too long sitting on trailers so maybe keep it for older ones? Went to the night market on the Thursday but was hardly anything there - come on Hasting surely you can do better than that. If heading to Napier with littlies definitely stop at the marine parade playground -very awesome.
Highlight was attending a concert, also the other sights to see, Te Mata Peak, shopping was good, only a short drive to Napier to even more shopping and walking along the beach front. Enjoyed an awesome winery and cafe's. Sitting at the beach eating fish and chips. Beautiful weather and the fresh fruit and produce on offer, amazing! Highly recommend a visit.
We visited Spalsh Planet for the first time...we had an amazing time!Well worth a visit!Reserve walks in Havelock North really beautiful. Birdwood cafe& sweet shop is a must-visit. Lovely plunger coffee, staff were so friendly&accommodating and the sculptures incredible. Child friendly with huge open area to run around in.
Sweet smelling fresh flowers around the house. Wonderful fireplace and stackfuls of logs for burning. Coupled with lovely views of the undulating winery and grazing sheep and cows made for perfect cosy family days in the cold winter. A big plus for us was the refresher cleans every morning that helped with the dishes (we did clean up 90% ourselves though).
Nothing to complain about😊 Very friendly and helpful staff, apartment was very spacious and clean. Made me feel like home😍 I appreciate your service very much. Thanks for all, I'll definitely come back. Cheers Marcus
