Featuring a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court as well as a garden, Irongate Retreat is located in Hastings, 4.3 mi from Splash Planet. The hosts were fabulous. The beds were the most comfortable of any place that we stayed during our month of travelling.
Located on a quiet tree-lined street, Gloucester House Motel is located in the heart of the Hastings City Center, just 20 minutes' drive from Napier Airport. The motel is modest, but it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. Everything you would need in a kitchen was provided. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful.
Portmans Motor Lodge features an outdoor swimming pool, guest laundry (charges apply) and free unlimited Wi-Fi. Quiet room even thou it is on main Rd into town comfy beds warm in room great facilities
Located 1312 feet from the town center, Claremonte Motor Lodge offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and Cable TV. Staff were lovely and made my stay very welcoming and comfortable. Great value for money and good location.
Located in Hastings, 3.5 miles from Splash Planet, Liz on Lowry has accommodations with a garden, free WiFi, a shared kitchen, and a shared lounge. Guests benefit from a patio and a terrace. Liz went out of her to make me feel welcome in her lovely home. Would highly recommend staying here.
Located in Hastings, within 1.3 miles of Splash Planet, The Snug offers accommodations with free WiFi, air conditioning and a garden. Everything was perfect. Very cute and lovely decor. Loved the outdoor area and the rustic butchers block in the kitchen😁 Will definitely stay again!
Featuring garden views, Black Walnut Cottage has accommodations with a garden, barbecue facilities and a terrace, around 3.2 miles from Te Mata Estate. Great 2 bedroom cottage- although more a house as very spacious and very well equipped- wish we had been able to stay longer. Bed was very comfortable - definitely recommend Black Walnut Cottage !
Featuring an outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi, Cottages on St Andrews offers self-contained accommodations less than 0.6 mi from Havelock North. A perfect escape from the normal tourist hotels. If you are staying any where around Hawkes Bay and this property is available book it immediately. It might be your best night in New Zealand. You've seen a million sheep along the roads. Here's your chance to get up close and feed one!
This self-contained 3-bedroom cottage includes free breakfast provisions for the first morning.
Offering free bikes and a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, The Pavilion is located in Havelock North, 2.2 miles from Black Barn Vineyards. Lovely, peaceful location yet very handy to town. The Pavilion is a great place to just sit back and relax at after a day’s sightseeing. We really appreciated the freshly baked bread waiting for us on arrival along with butter and preserves, fresh eggs and fruit. The bed was extremely comfortable! and Nick was a great host. We’ll hopefully be back one day! Highly recommend.
A wonderful little town, clean and easy to navigate. If you can't find what your looking for just ask someone. There is no shortage of fine restaurants. We ate at Off The Track. It was fabulous food and excellent service st modest prices.
Didn't spend much time in Hasting town itself but did go to the vineyards and dinned out at the Craggie Range vineyard and this was out standing and totally recommend!!! We also had one night in Havelock North dinning at Pipi. It was lovely and a little bit quirky and had a very relaxed atmosphere. Walked the Cape Kidnappers beach walk to Gannet Colonies (20 Kms). Well worth it but you do have to get your sea tides right as it took us 6 hours and most of walk is on the waters edge. Great girl's three day weekend in such a lovely part of the country.
Hastings itself is lovely in summer, great food and shopping, lovely walk around a character town. I would prefer to stay in a more modern establishment, but that's just me - bit fussy. Looked great for kids, I'm over kids, so poor judge - sorry.
We were there for a wedding, but the weather was great and the reception at Millar Road, Haumoana was superb, with wonderful views and the most varied and delicious menu and great wines. We also had a good time at Bay Expresso coffee bar the next morning.
Discovered the shop "Envy" -well worth a visit. However didn't think much of the waiter who never placed my breakfast order although my husband and I were the only 2 people in the cafe! On the other hand Jarks restuarant had beautiful food
Easy to get around to supermarkets and eateries. You possibly can't get lost. We ate at a cafe called Magdeleines for breakfast the first day of arrival, it was ok- best part was the coffee. Disappointed with my bread, it was rock hard. Almost like the toast had been cooked first and my eggs after. Mega mitre 10 shop was brilliant and their garden centre packed with lots of ideas.

I was in Hastings for a sports event, and the fact that it wasn't too far from the sporting venue was a bonus. Left a note for the Hotelier to tell him about the dripping water, and he came spoke to me about it when we returned later in the day, which was good to know he'd received the note and was looking into it. Hotelier also came to our room immediately when I was having trouble with switching TV to Sky

Room was great, had everything you needed - shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Also milk, bread, cereals and coffee/tea for breakfast. The hosts, Leanne and Steve, were super friendly and even had us over dinner on the Sunday night. Had a great relaxing weekend - thank you very much. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you are in the Hastings area.

The VIEWS!! Wow! Beautiful, no matter which direction you look. The hostess was wonderful - little things like fresh bread, jam, milk and other amenities which made everything very welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring the wineries in the area - and we found more than a few to enjoy!
