True southern hospitality shown to us! Our bags were collected at the ferry and taken to our unit so we could get to our tour on time. Kaka Retreat was wonderful and we even had a Kaka land a arms length from us at the unit.

Unique experience all around & all together-being one with nature-the design of the glass cabin. Perfect temperature, layout, design, bedding. WE LOVED IT! No Kiwi SEEN by the cabin area but a walk down the main road resulted in a sighting! The STARS above you & it’s no dream.

The room was comfortable and we had full use of a wonderful sitting room. Both rooms had a great view over Halfmoon Bay. Our hostess, Helen, looked after us superbly, making suggestions about activities and chauffeuring us when walking was less feasible. Breakfast was very tasty and Helen even made us omelettes.

The house is fully equipped with essential tools and kitchenwares. Of course, the car is the biggest highlight!!! It gave us so much convenience to tour around the island. Definitely a highly recommended place. The owner even purposely headed down to the unit to clean up for us despite the shortage of cleaner during new year period. Thanks a lot!!
