This beachfront apartment accommodations is located on the magical Rangiputa Beach in the Karikari Peninsula. White Sands provides free private parking on site. Dave and Deb were superb hosts. Nothing was to much effort and was very helpful with sharing their local knowledge and putting us on some great fishing spots. Got stuck on some soft sand and without any hesitation Dave was there with the tractor to come to our rescue. Will be back again soon.

Paula was a very friendly host, with excellent communication and catered to our every request. The caravan had everything we needed and was more spacious than we expected. Everything g was clean and tidy, the shower was perfect and all running water was nice and hot. The private area surrounding the caravan was super cute, with a table and chairs to enjoy our evening bbq, gorgeous plants and washing line to hang up the beach clothes to dry. Every detail has been taken care of, including the off road parking space. Would definitely stay here again 😊
It’s amazing the unit was spotless, the owner was extremely helpful. The pool the views the shop right across the road, ample options to eat at different places. We will be back for a longer stay. Tranquil.
The Honey Bee Cafe just north of Pukenui is a MUST TRY as well as try the steak at the local pub. It is to die for. Totally worth your money and of high quality. Everything is within walking distance.
The property itself was beautifully maintained - all the little twiddly bits had been thought of. Our room was in wonderful condition and immaculate. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Across the road from the property is a Four-Square grocery, also a restaurant, takeaways and bar - and a liquor shop. Pukenui is delightful place for an evening stroll. All in all it is one of the best places we've been to.
We arrived after dark and it was a Sabbath so we like to stay indoors and prepare for the church service we take in Te Kao every month. We will probably stay here again as it's only 20 mins from our destination. We're not big consumers so didn't matter about convenience stores or restaurants but there is one across the street open to about 8 in the winter.
If you like sea views, fishing and the outdoors Pukenui is great because it’s central to all these if not right there, look no further. There’s a bar, restaurant, takeaways, liquor store and grocery store straight across the road. You’ll love the little wharf below the property where you can fish for kingies, kahawai and watch as the fishing boats and mussel boats come in to off load their catch’s.
I unfortunately arrived a week early (Date mix up) and they had no other rooms available. The friendly staff there gave me a refund and helped me find other near accommodation. I would for sure go and stay for my next trip up north!
