Tairua Shores Motel enjoys a harborside location close to the Tairua Wharf, and it takes 2 minutes to drive to the town center or a 10-minute beach walk overlooking Mt Paku and Tairua Harbor. Was a lovely place to stay for New Year’s Eve . Handy to everything so could just walk to shops and bars and restaurants. So clean and great night sleep king bed .
Located on The Esplanade overlooking Tairua Harbor, Paku Lodge Resort offers self-contained accommodations with a private balcony and harbor views. This was a quiet little lodging, but in a great location. We enjoyed the free kayaks and bikes, and also the spades to dig pur hole on Hot Water beach. We had planned to eat out, but the views from the terrace were so lovely that we bought a picnic from the local supermarket and had a perfect evening. We were only able to stay one night, but would habe been very happy to stay longer. The Coromandel peninsula is beautiful.
The Boat House features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Tairua, 0.7 mi from Pauanui Beach. The room was beautifully decorated, the water pressure was great, breakfast was delicious and served with gorgeous linen and cutlery, but most of all - the hosts were wonderful - welcoming, gracious and hospitable! Look forward to returning!
Located on Mount Paku overlooking Tairua Marina and Ocean beach, The Spinney studio offers self-contained accommodations with panoramic views on the top floor of an architecturally designed house. Sam is a great host who goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and provide recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. Room and view is beautiful.
Studio on Petley features free bikes and a tennis court in Tairua. The 5-star Studio has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom and free WiFi. Stayed here for a night in February 2019. Great location, the studio is spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, quiet and well equipped with kitchenettes, microwave, fridge, ensuite bathroom and high speed WiFi. They have everything you need ready for you. There's even welcome fruits and milk for us! We slept very well that night. The host David and Lynn both are excellent hosts, they are very friendly and helpful. This is definitely the best accommodation we've stayed in NZ!
Great place to stay, even if it's a winter. Recommend Manaia Cafe & Bar, we had two wonderful dinners there with Tairua Pilsner, check their website for specials. Also recommend visiting Mt Paku Summit, it's an easy short walk with stunning views at the top
We love the walks and riding the ferry. Great place for bike rides, kayaking, etc. Love the ferry ride across to Pauanui. Love the view from the top of Paku and the Gazebo. Great Art Gallery and gift shop.
Beautiful town, lot's of water activities. Surf area was good. Butcher had the best steak we'd had in a long time. Fish & Chip shop never seemed to open at 11 as advertised. Pubs were good and people very friendly.
Tairu is a great base from where to explore many beautiful beaches in the area. There are several good cafe's to choose from & the small town offers most facilities required for travel.... ATM's, Petrol, Supermarket, Gift shops etc.etc.
The beaches are awesome, the view from Mount Paku’s summit is breathtaking. The traffic in and out of Tairua is not so great. We ate at a fantastic little restaurant near the base of the mountain which served the most delicious food ever.
Sleepy little town with a big heart. Tidal estuary (at our doorstep in Seagrass Studio where we stayed) and surf beach (Ocean Beach) both really beautiful and easily accessible. Good places to eat, lovely art gallery, small supermarket (4 square), gas station and organic shop. We've stayed there a bit. Not far to Hotty (Hot Water Beach), Cooks or Hahei. Lots of permanents so the town has some soul whenever you visit.

It was a beautiful location and Thelma & Warwick were wonderful hosts with many great suggestions on things do do while visiting the Coromandel.
We enjoyed being upgraded nice to have our own facilities
Friendly, welcoming place, easy access into lovely Tairua
