We didn't pay too much attention when booking this accommodation, as we just wanted a place to rest for a night after the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and before driving to Wellington. What a lovely surprise this place was! I absolutely loved staying here - spacious and clean rooms, a comfortable bed and a covered terrace in front of the apartment. Even though we didn't get to use the kitchen, it was supplied with pretty much all apliences one would need. Some details I appreciated and haven't seen before were the parking spots next to every apartment and the Netflix account the apartment had for guests. The gardens were pretty and well kept. However, I have to admit that what helped tremendously with my experience at the Creel Lodge hotel was the beautiful and incredibly friendly cat that decided to make us his friends and waited for us to wake up the next morning in front of our door.

Probably the best stay I had one my trip. The room was lovely. The facilities great (covered BBQ area, super fast Wifi, kitchen with everything (stove,…), washing machine, free parking). Communication was smooth and helpful. Even the shower had high quilts products inside (shampoo,…).

We absolutely loved staying here. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a true home away from home. The house was spotless, warm, and beautifully set up, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made such a difference after a day of travelling, and the whole place had a calm, welcoming feel. You can really tell a lot of care has gone into this home. Honestly, everything about this stay was perfect. We would not hesitate to come back and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in Tūrangi. Thank you so much

Spacious unit. Fridge, microwave, crockery and cutlery. Bath with shower above but L- shaped grab rail for accessibility. More like a motel than a hotel. Swimming pool. They are renovating what has been a quality hotel in past years. The sign at the moment doesn't say Tokaanu Hotel, but the street number is correct. This is being renewed soon.

Tokaanu motel is a no fuss, easy, affordable, and homely place to stay. It's older, with an early 80's vibe and a number of permanent residents.The bed was very comfy and the unit was very clean. The pool is a very nice treat after a long drive.

We started on the back foot as the hotel had been rebranded with a new name so we didn’t know whether we were in the right place. Place was clean and great value with a comfortable bed and a pool outside.
